26: Chapter 26 Call My Dad

Qin Ruoxi nodded, her tone carrying a hint of anticipation:

"Yes, I hope that day comes soon."

Before long, the owner served the steaming hot meal.

The aroma of the stewed chicken with mushrooms wafted over, the steamed river fish was tender and fresh, and the stir-fried wild vegetables with eggs were a vibrant green—it was a feast that immediately whetted one's appetite.

Qin Ruoxi picked up a piece of chicken and put it in her mouth, her eyes lighting up instantly:

"Hmm, this chicken is so fragrant, and the meat is very tender. It tastes much better than the chicken in the city."

Xiao Bei smiled and nodded:

"That's right. The chickens here are free-range and eat natural food, so the flavor is naturally different."

Qin Ruoxi tasted the river fish and nodded with satisfaction:

"This fish is also excellent; the meat is delicate and the taste is delicious. It seems you really chose the right place to bring me today."

Xiao Bei smiled proudly:

"Sister, as long as you are satisfied. However, don't just focus on eating; you must also pay attention to resting. You have been too tired these past few days and need to properly nourish yourself."

Qin Ruoxi shook her head with a smile:

"You, you're so young, how are you so good at taking care of people? But I must thank you; having such a considerate secretary makes my work much easier."

Xiao Bei scratched his head, feeling embarrassed:

"Sister, you are too polite. It is my honor to be able to work with you."

The two were chatting when suddenly, a commotion was heard outside.

Qin Ruoxi frowned and looked up out the window:

"What is going on?"

Xiao Bei also put down his chopsticks, stood up, walked to the door to take a look, and turned back to say to Qin Ruoxi:

"Mayor Qin, it seems like someone is causing trouble outside."

Qin Ruoxi nodded and walked toward the door:

"Let's go take a look."

The two walked out of the farmhouse restaurant and saw three young men dressed in designer clothes, looking stylish, surrounding a girl in a waitress uniform, laughing and saying something.

The girl kept her head down, her face pale; she was clearly terrified.

One of the young men, who had dyed his hair blonde, reached out to grab the girl's wrist, his tone flippant:

"Little sister, don't be shy. Come have a drink with us, and we brothers won't treat you badly."

The girl struggled to back away, her voice trembling:

"Excuse me, I still have to work. Please let me go..."

Seeing this, Qin Ruoxi's expression darkened. She stepped forward quickly and shouted coldly:

"Stop! What are you doing?"

The three young men were taken aback and turned to look at Qin Ruoxi.

The blonde youth looked her up and down, a flash of amazement in his eyes, followed by a playful smirk:

"Oh? Who is this big sister? You are really beautiful, much more attractive than this little girl."

The other two youths also laughed. One of them, wearing an ear stud, whistled:

"Sister, do you want to join us for some fun? We are very good at pampering people, you know."

Qin Ruoxi looked at them coldly, her tone stern:

"In broad daylight, harassing a girl—do you have any regard for the law at all?"

The blonde youth shrugged dismissively:

"Pfft! What kind of crap law? You don't know who I am, do you? Sister, if you don't like what you see, why don't you spend the night with us? We guarantee we won't bother her again. How about it?"

A flash of anger crossed Qin Ruoxi's eyes, and just as she was about to speak, Xiao Bei had already stepped in front of her, blocking the space between her and the youths, his tone icy:

"You lot, watch your mouths. If you dare to spout any more nonsense, I'll knock your teeth out!"

The blonde youth scoffed, looking at Xiao Bei with disdain:

"Oh, you brought a bodyguard? Kid, do you know who we are? Daring to talk to us like that, are you tired of living?"

Xiao Bei sneered and said:

"I don't care who you are. If you dare to act wild in front of my sister, you will pay the price."

The youth with the ear stud waved his hand impatiently:

"Enough talk. Beat this kid up, then take these two women away. Let's have some fun tonight!"

Before the words had even faded, the three youths lunged toward Xiao Bei.

Xiao Bei's eyes sharpened. His figure flickered, and he easily dodged the blonde youth's fist, countering with an elbow strike that knocked him directly to the ground.

The other two youths hadn't even reacted before Xiao Bei kicked the youth with the ear stud over, then immediately sidestepped, grabbed the last youth's wrist, twisted it with force, and pinned him to the ground.

The entire process took only a few seconds, and the three youths were already lying on the ground, wailing incessantly.

Xiao Bei clapped his hands and looked at them coldly:

"With just this much skill, you dare to come out and bully people?"

Qin Ruoxi walked forward, looking down at the youths, her tone icy:

"Today is just a small lesson. If I see you acting like villains again, it won't be this simple. Get lost!"

The blonde youth clutched his stomach and climbed up from the ground, pointing at Xiao Bei and Qin Ruoxi with a ferocious expression, gritting his teeth as he spoke:

"You dare hit me? Do you know who I am? My dad is Li Jingming, and he covers everything in this area! Since you offended me today, don't think about leaving Beijiang County alive!"

Upon hearing this, Qin Ruoxi raised an eyebrow slightly, a flash of amusement in her eyes.

She crossed her arms and said in a calm tone:

"Oh? Li Jingming? Sounds like he's very impressive. I'd like to see just how capable your father really is."

The blonde youth was stunned, clearly not expecting such a reaction from Qin Ruoxi.

He gritted his teeth and said viciously:

"Fine, very fine! You just wait. I'm going to call my dad right now and make you regret this!"

After saying this, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number, his tone filled with a mix of grievance and anger:

"Dad, I was beaten up at 'Shanshui Renjia' in Bishi Town! Hurry and bring people over to save me!"

A deep and authoritative voice came from the other end of the line:

"Who is so bold as to touch my, Li Jingming's, son? Wait there, I'm bringing people over right now!"

After hanging up, the blonde youth looked at Qin Ruoxi and Xiao Bei triumphantly and sneered:

"You're finished! My dad will be here soon. Then we'll see how you handle this!"

Xiao Bei frowned and whispered to Qin Ruoxi:

"Sister, should I notify the county police to come over? This bunch doesn't look easy to deal with."

Qin Ruoxi waved her hand, her tone relaxed:

"No need. I actually want to see just how chaotic the public security in Beijiang County has become, that even criminal forces are this arrogant. Besides, with you here, what do I have to fear?"

Xiao Bei smiled helplessly:

"Sister, you are far too bold. However, since you want to see, I will accompany you."

Qin Ruoxi nodded, then turned to the terrified waitress and said:

"Little girl, you should go back first. We will handle the matters here."

The waitress looked at Qin Ruoxi gratefully and whispered:

"Thank you, but... Li Jingming is truly very powerful. You should leave quickly, or you will be in trouble."
