100: Chapter 100 Lin Fan Ran Away?

The squad members wore anxious expressions, staring intently at the blocking Magic Beast.

"Lin Fan... you take a detour to the vehicles first. We'll catch up after we deal with this," Yao Dong said in a deep voice.

Lin Fan raised an eyebrow and looked at the man.

A group consisting of only two Tier 2 Mages and the rest being First-Order Mages, wanting to confront a Mutant-level Magic Beast?

It was simply a joke.

But he didn't mock them.

He could tell.

These people wanted to emulate Aunt Mi Xue, sacrificing themselves to buy him time to escape.

This stirred a sense of admiration in Lin Fan's heart...

The people of the Wave Squad were all good people.

"Okay!" Lin Fan nodded obediently, turned around, and ran, quickly disappearing behind a large rock.

Strangely, that Lizardman did not give chase.

Yao Dong looked in the direction where Lin Fan had disappeared and smiled bitterly.

He didn't blame Lin Fan for running away.

Even though the other party was stronger than many in the squad...

After all, Lin Fan was still just a child.

He even felt that he had dragged him down.

This was Lin Fan's first mission, and yet he had been dragged into such a dangerous situation.

He could only pray that Lin Fan would safely reach the vehicles.

Those vehicles were not ordinary ones; their construction materials were exceptionally sturdy, enough to withstand the attacks of a Mutant-level Magic Beast.

Lin Fan should be safe inside.

Furthermore, the parking spot was very far from here; the Magic Beast was unlikely to find it.

The others felt the same way. They didn't blame Lin Fan and focused all their attention on the desperate situation before them.

Confirming that Lin Fan had run far away, Yao Dong turned to look at the Lizardman in front of him.

"Alright, everyone, don't be dejected, give it your all!"

"Being able to kill a Mutant-level Magic Beast is enough for us to brag about for the rest of our lives."

Yao Dong said loudly, trying to boost morale.

Just then, the Lizardman lunged toward them.

Its speed was extreme; even Ge Ying and Yao Dong could only see a blur.

Everyone gritted their teeth. They still summoned their starlight, refusing to give up.

The next second, the Lizardman rushed in front of Yao Dong, its scale spike pointing directly at his chest.

Yao Dong's pupils constricted, and he looked down in shock. The Lizardman's speed far exceeded his expectations; he couldn't dodge it at all!

But just as the scale spike was about to pierce his body, a gust of wind suddenly whipped up.

A figure draped in a black robe appeared out of thin air beside the Lizardman and grabbed the hand holding the spike.

The scale spike stopped just a few centimeters from Yao Dong's body.

Including Yao Dong, everyone widened their eyes, staring fixedly at the figure wearing a white mask.

"Mr. Mr. Chen?!"

A short while ago, after being told to leave by Yao Dong, Lin Fan knew the opportunity to turn the situation around had arrived.

He did not hesitate and immediately burst out with the full speed of a First-Order Mage.

Within a few breaths, he dashed dozens of meters and hid behind a large rock.

After stopping, Lin Fan immediately retrieved the undying robe and the omniscient mask from the system.

He equipped them instantly and then turned back.

He spread out his perception. He saw that the Lizardman had already launched its attack; Yao Dong and the others couldn't react in time and were on the verge of being slaughtered.

It was truly worthy of being a Mutant-level Magic Beast. It was simply not an existence that a Tier 2 Mage could easily confront. But he would absolutely not allow this to happen.

Lin Fan flashed. His speed exploded, and he vanished from the spot instantly.

Time seemed to slow down. In less than a second, Lin Fan appeared beside the Mutated-tier Lizardman and Yao Dong.

He reached out one hand and easily grabbed the wrist of the Lizardman holding the spike.

"Mr. Mr. Chen?!" Lin Fan heard Yao Dong's exclamation.

Seeing him stare at his mask, the corners of his mouth curled up slightly, but he didn't respond.

He could feel the hope reigniting in everyone's eyes. He liked this feeling. It was just like a hero in a story.

As for that Lizardman, after having its arm grabbed by the person who suddenly appeared, its first reaction was to retreat and observe.

This was the nature of the Lizardman—cunning and proactively avoiding opponents they shouldn't touch.

But to its horror, the arm that was grabbed remained completely motionless; it couldn't break free at all.

It retaliated in anger. The scale spike in its other hand stabbed fiercely toward Lin Fan's mask.

Slap! Lin Fan raised his other hand at an imperceptible speed.

He slapped the Lizardman in the face... and accidentally slapped its head clean off.

Lin Fan: "..." Yao Dong and the others: "..."

Was this Mutated-tier Lizardman too weak? This thought flashed through everyone's minds, and then they realized... it wasn't that the Lizardman was weak, but that Mr. Chen was too strong.

He killed a Mutant-level Magic Beast with a single slap. Lin Fan himself was stunned for a moment. The system's notification sound for killing the Magic Beast rang out.

"I... overestimated it." Lin Fan sighed inwardly. He really didn't intend to kill it with one slap; he just hadn't calculated the strength correctly.

Not all Mutant-level Magic Beasts had the same defense as the Dread Bear and the Gargoyle. The Lizardman's defense was actually rather weak.

Forget it, it was done. Lin Fan casually tossed the headless Lizardman's corpse to Yao Dong.

His figure turned into a gust of wind again and vanished, speeding toward the direction where Aunt Mi Xue and the others were fighting.

On the other side, Yao Dong subconsciously caught the corpse, looking dazed. It wasn't until a few seconds later that he snapped back to reality.

"Lin Fan! Let's go find Lin Fan quickly!" Everyone panicked again.

Just now, they had let Lin Fan leave first to lure the Lizardman away. Now that the Lizardman was dead, they were terrified that the youngest, Lin Fan, would encounter danger on his own.

The group hurriedly ran in the direction where Lin Fan had previously disappeared.

Behind the mask, Lin Fan smiled slightly as he saw them rushing about in a panic to find him.

The parking spot was still very far from here; it would take them quite some time to get there. Lin Fan was confident. He could resolve everything before they arrived and then head over, without any worry of being exposed.

He quickly arrived at the battlefield where Aunt Mi Xue and the others were fighting.

His gaze fell upon that Transcendent-tier Lizardman, which was watching the fight as if it were a show.

"Watching happily? Let me add some spice for you." Lin Fan chuckled inwardly. Beneath the mask, a flash of purple light flickered in his eyes.

"Thunder Strike!" Two purple star charts formed almost instantly behind him.

The next moment, a thin thread of lightning shot out. Although it was only a Core-tier spell, its speed was astonishingly fast, flashing and disappearing in the air.

It struck the Lizardman that Aunt Mi Xue was fighting with precision. Boom!

The lightning thread hit the Magic Beast's body accurately. It twitched violently in the air, then fell heavily to the ground, completely lifeless.

The sudden lightning left everyone frozen in place. Aunt Mi Xue looked at the dead Lizardman in front of her in shock. The blue star chart that had just formed paused in mid-air, and she forgot to cast her spell.

On the Lizardman's corpse, a pitch-black scorch mark remained where it had been struck by the lightning. Wisps of smoke curled up. A pungent smell of burning permeated the air.

The remaining Lizardman stared at their companion's corpse, equally terrified. Before they could recover from their shock, a gust of wind swept past. A figure appeared in front of another Lizardman.
