20: Chapter 20 How did you do that?!
Lin Fan looked in the direction of the voice.
The person who arrived was the very same Alliance staff member who had received him the previous two times.
"Why is he here? Is it a coincidence, or has he been monitoring me the whole time?"
Lin Fan grew secretly vigilant.
But on the surface, he remained calm and simply stood up and nodded.
The other party was clearly already accustomed to Chen Ping's reticence and paid it no mind.
He made a "please" gesture and said with a beaming smile:
"I assume Mr. Chen has quite a haul to sell on this trip, right? Please, follow me."
With that, he turned to lead the way.
Lin Fan followed silently behind him.
Amidst the shocked gazes of the crowd in the lobby, they headed upstairs.
The reason everyone was so shocked was entirely due to the status of the staff member who was receiving Lin Fan.
Lin Fan followed the man without a word, and the two entered the elevator of the Alliance Building, slowly ascending.
A few seconds later, the elevator stopped, and the doors slowly opened.
A spacious corridor appeared before them, with rows of heavy doors lining both sides.
"I assume you have brought quite a few monster corpses to sell?"
"The rooms on this floor are all specifically for sorting monster corpses."
The man gestured toward those doors, and Lin Fan followed him silently.
The two walked for a moment before stopping in front of one of the large doors.
The man placed his right palm on the door and injected a trace of magic power.
Accompanied by a hissing sound, the door slowly opened, and the two stepped inside.
This was a spacious room at least twenty meters wide; the space inside was much larger than it looked from the outside!
After they entered, the door behind them clicked shut automatically.
"I think this space should be enough to hold the monster corpses you brought; you can start taking them out now."
The man smiled and pointed to the open space in the center of the room.
The reason he was so certain...
...was because he knew very well exactly how much capacity that storage bracelet he had previously given to Chen Ping had.
However, Chen Ping did not immediately take out the monster corpses; instead, he looked around the room, seemingly searching for something.
Seeing this, the man immediately understood his concerns.
"Ah, I see you, Mr. Chen, prefer to keep a low profile, so I specifically chose this room for the valuation."
"There are no surveillance devices here, and people outside absolutely cannot peek in. You can rest assured; everything that happens here today will be a secret between the two of us."
The man flashed a reassuring smile and said to Lin Fan.
Hearing this, Lin Fan breathed a sigh of relief inwardly.
He had just been worrying about how to take out those monster corpses stored in his space pouch.
After all, unlike the storage bracelet, he had to cast a spell to utilize the power of the space pouch.
Now that he didn't have to worry about being discovered...
...Lin Fan only had one final problem left.
He turned his head.
His gaze, piercing through the slits of his omniscient mask, landed directly on the forehead of the man behind him, his eyes sharp.
The man was baffled by his stare and looked back at him, bewildered.
"Mr. Chen, do you have any other instructions?"
He asked cautiously.
Lin Fan did not answer.
He simply shifted his gaze away from the man.
He glanced at the tightly closed door, then turned back to look at the other person.
The man was stunned for a few seconds, then suddenly realized.
He wanted him to leave as well!
"Ah, that was inconsiderate of me."
"Then I will wait outside the door for now. Once you are done, you only need to inject a trace of magic power into the door."
The man forced a strange smile onto his face.
As he backed away, he grumbled inwardly.
He had been suspicious of this mysterious Mr. Chen from the start.
The other party's attire and inscrutable attitude seemed strange no matter how he looked at it.
In any case, the goods would have to be tallied eventually, so why did he have to be so secretive now?
Could he be planning to do something illicit in there?
The man walked out of the room while his mind ran wild.
The door slowly closed behind him.
Finally alone in the room, Lin Fan breathed another sigh of relief.
He scanned the room one last time, confirming there were no omissions, before walking to the center of the room.
He first took out all the monster corpses from the storage bracelet.
There were only eleven in total, varying in size.
The largest was a full ten meters long, and the smallest was at least two meters tall.
After emptying the bracelet...
...Lin Fan picked out the magic cores he had dug out earlier and set them aside separately.
Immediately after, a silver light flashed in his eyes.
Ten space-type star points appeared behind him, condensing into two Star Patterns in almost an instant.
"space pouch."
A low murmur came from behind the mask.
The air in front of him rippled, tearing open a slit.
Lin Fan didn't need to reach into the space pouch by hand to retrieve items.
With just a thought, he could manipulate the things inside to appear out of thin air.
As his thought shifted...
...the monster corpses from the space pouch were taken out one after another.
These corpses were several times larger than those in the bracelet earlier.
Soon, they piled up into a small mountain in the center of the room.
He also discovered...
...that this room seemed to have some kind of special magic array that could not only eliminate the stench of the corpses but also prevent blood from contaminating the floor.
Because the blood seeping from the corpses seemed to be absorbed by the floor, disappearing without a trace.
"However, there isn't much blood left to flow out of these corpses anyway."
Lin Fan muttered to himself.
After all...
...only the monsters killed by space magic and close-quarters combat still had blood remaining in their bodies.
As for those monsters that died under Lightning Element magic, their blood had long since been scorched to charcoal by the violent electric currents!
This was the terrifying aspect of the Lightning Element.
Overbearing, ruthless, and extremely destructive.
Meanwhile...
...outside the room door...
...a man leaned against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest.
His brow was furrowed, his eyes tightly closed, as if he were pondering something.
His name was Fang Bin.
He was the very Alliance staff member responsible for receiving that mysterious Chen Ping.
At this moment...
...he was secretly pondering.
Why was he wasting time on such a suspicious mage who looked like a fugitive on the run?
Although the mage world allowed for free attire, as long as it didn't disrupt public order.
But Chen Ping's attire, coupled with his reticent attitude, was just too easy to arouse suspicion.
Just then...
...the door behind him emitted a hissing sound and slowly opened.
"Are you finally done?"
Fang Bin opened his eyes, straightened his body, and stepped into the room.
But when he saw the scene in the room clearly...
...his whole body froze in place instantly, his pupils constricted, and he stared blankly at the mountain of monster corpses piled in the center of the room.
His face was filled with disbelief.
How... how is this possible?!
That storage bracelet he gave to Chen Ping...
...absolutely could not hold this many things!
Fang Bin screamed silently in his heart, shocked for a long time, unable to recover.
Lin Fan noticed his loss of composure but said nothing, his expression as calm as if nothing had happened.
He knew that suspicion was inevitable, but at least he had the omniscient mask.
