7: Chapter 7 Arrogant Threats
"However, this is enough."
Lin Fan sighed softly and continued to activate his ability.
He quickly locked onto a room.
Looking at its position, it should be the principal's office.
The original owner of this body had been to this school before, and lingering memories told him that his guess was most likely correct.
"This is the place."
Lin Fan said in a low voice.
The next second.
His vision abruptly returned to normal, and he was back in the corner where he had been hiding.
"What should I do next?"
Just as Lin Fan was wondering, the system immediately provided a prompt.
Whoosh...!
A strong sound of breaking air came from behind him.
Lin Fan whipped his head around, his eyes widening instantly.
Behind him, a spatial rift had actually cracked open; on the other side of the rift was a world of pure white.
He immediately realized that this was the effect of Void Walk!
"This ability is way too cool!"
Lin Fan marveled and stepped inside without hesitation.
Passing through the rift, he entered that pure white space.
A straight path appeared before him, about twenty meters long, with the end connected to another spatial rift.
"So that's what 'unable to change direction during transit' means. It literally means you can't turn."
Lin Fan nodded in realization and started walking forward.
Soon, he reached the end of the path.
He cleared his throat and deliberately altered his voice before stepping through that rift.
Lin Fan's figure appeared silently inside an office.
The room was filled with bookshelves and a large desk, behind which sat an old man around seventy years old.
He was looking down, flipping through documents, completely unaware that someone had intruded.
With the help of the omniscient mask's appraisal ability.
Lin Fan saw through the old man's background at a glance.
He was a late-stage Tier 3 expert, with strength on par with most of the teachers in his own academy.
Like an assassin lurking in the shadows, Lin Fan quietly watched the principal from a corner.
A full minute passed, and the principal still hadn't noticed him.
Only then did Lin Fan realize.
With the stealth effect of the omniscient mask.
It was impossible for the other party to notice his presence.
He had no choice but to speak up first.
"Old gentleman, you've reached quite an age and look very tired. At this age, you should be resting properly."
Lin Fan's voice was hoarse and low, deliberately disguised as an adult who had suffered a throat injury.
This sudden voice startled the principal so much that he jumped up from his chair.
He stared in terror at Lin Fan's figure, his heart pounding wildly.
He had actually failed to notice when this person had entered.
Nor how long they had been in his office!
"I was too careless... If he were an assassin, I'm afraid I would have died ten times already!"
Cold sweat poured down the principal's face, his heart filled with lingering fear.
Lin Fan tried his best to remain calm.
He didn't want to expose his identity due to a moment of panic.
"No need to panic, I have no intention of harming you."
Lin Fan spoke in a calm tone, "If I wanted to take your life, you would be dead already."
As he spoke, he slowly stepped out from the corner.
The principal swallowed hard, his heartbeat clearly audible to his own ears.
He didn't respond to Lin Fan's words.
Instead, he immediately released his spiritual power, attempting to probe the other's background.
But as soon as the spiritual power touched Lin Fan's body, it was bounced away by an invisible force.
The principal's body trembled violently, his face written with despair.
"His strength... is far above mine!"
At the same time.
A system prompt sounded in Lin Fan's mind.
[Ding, spiritual power scan detected, blocked by the omniscient mask.]
Seeing this prompt, Lin Fan paused his steps and turned to look coldly at the principal.
This movement nearly scared the old man out of his wits.
He subconsciously took several steps back.
"I said I have no intention of harming you. Yet you insist on testing me?"
"Then let me show you what true strength looks like!"
Lin Fan's voice was bone-chillingly cold as he activated the deterrence pendant hidden under his mage robes.
A terrifying pressure suddenly swept through the entire office.
The principal was so frightened by this pressure that his legs went weak, and his whole body couldn't stop trembling.
"Th-this is... the pressure of a T-Tier 4 Mage!"
The principal's eyes widened in horror as he looked at the mysterious masked man before him, waves of shock crashing through his heart.
An expert at the level of a Tier 4 Mage.
Why would such a person deign to come to such a small city?
Lin Fan was very satisfied with the effect of the deterrence pendant.
The principal was at the late stage of Tier 3.
The pressure released by the pendant was exactly one major realm higher than him, which was the level of a Tier 4 Mage.
"I don't have time to waste in a small place like this for long."
Lin Fan approached the principal step by step, while the latter retreated repeatedly in fear.
"I came today because I have something for you to do... and you must comply."
"P-please, give your orders..."
The principal's voice was shaking uncontrollably.
"Have you heard the name Lin Duo?"
Lin Fan asked.
The principal froze for a moment, then nodded frantically.
"I-is it that female student? Did she offend you, Great One? I-I'll go expel her right now!"
The principal spoke flusteredly, fearing he might displease the powerhouse before him.
Hearing this, Lin Fan's brow furrowed deeply behind the mask.
He really disliked this principal's attitude and wanted nothing more than to smash his face with a punch.
But he also knew.
Even if he acted and killed this First-Order Mage.
It wouldn't help the situation.
So, he changed his approach.
Lin Fan reached out his hand, palm facing forward.
A purple magic Star Pattern instantly surfaced on his palm.
Immediately after.
A thick bolt of lightning shot out, striking the principal's chest with precision.
The principal screamed as he was blasted backward by the electricity, slamming hard into the bookshelf behind him.
Books cascaded from the shelf, and he fell miserably to the floor, coughing violently.
"Shut up!"
Lin Fan shouted coldly, "This is but a small punishment for your reckless words."
"I said I wouldn't kill you, and I meant it."
He knew in his heart.
With his current strength.
It was naturally impossible to kill this principal.
But the feeling of personally casting a spell was simply too exhilarating!
The principal immediately stopped coughing and struggled to crawl up from the floor.
"As expected... although this strike hurt a bit, it didn't actually wound me. This senior is deliberately teaching me a lesson."
The principal grumbled inwardly, but didn't dare show the slightest dissatisfaction on his face.
"Back to the point."
Lin Fan didn't want to waste any more words and went straight to the theme.
"Lin Duo—I have been observing her for a long time."
"You should be very clear about her situation in this school, shouldn't you?"
The principal's body stiffened, cold sweat pouring down.
He certainly knew Lin Duo was being bullied at school, but how could he dare say it out loud?
If this powerhouse before him directed his anger at him for withholding information, wouldn't he be dead for sure?
