173: Chapter 173 Yunwei
He walked up to the giant beast and spoke.
The giant beast was blocking the cave entrance with its body, so Lin Fan had to ask it to move aside.
Hearing Lin Fan's voice, the giant dog immediately jumped to the side, tail tucked between its legs, bowing its head in submission.
"Wait here."
Lin Fan said before walking into the cave.
Although it was night outside, the interior of the cave was quite bright; small glowing crystals embedded in the walls illuminated the space.
Lin Fan walked for a few seconds and arrived at an open area with a large round table and several chairs in the center.
From here, he could see three other tunnels leading deeper into the cave.
Lin Fan did not rashly choose a direction.
Silver starlight appeared around his body as he cast [Seamless Space Perception].
His eyes turned silver and he scanned his surroundings.
Once the Spell took effect, he instantly grasped the entire layout of the cave.
It looked like a stronghold, likely artificially excavated rather than naturally formed.
Deep inside the cave, there were prison cells, storage rooms, and lounge areas.
At that moment, besides himself, there was one other person in the cave.
A woman was locked in one of the prison cells.
Her hair covered her face, so Lin Fan could not see her features clearly, but he could clearly see the injuries on her body.
Lin Fan also discovered something.
He could not sense any magic power within this woman; she was just like an ordinary person.
However, traces of magical fluctuations remained on the chains binding her.
He concluded that this woman was most likely the owner of the giant dog.
Lin Fan dispelled his Spell and activated Blink, appearing directly inside the cell.
With a flash of silver, he appeared before the woman.
However, the woman did not react, as if she had lost consciousness.
Lin Fan knew she was not asleep.
He could tell from her breathing, and when he had just cast [Seamless Space Perception], he had seen her move.
Besides, how could she possibly sleep in such a situation?
He stood before her for a few seconds, wondering how to start the conversation.
In the end, he could not think of anything appropriate to say, so he simply said:
"Your dog is waiting for you outside."
The woman still did not react, ignoring Lin Fan.
Lin Fan raised an eyebrow and decided to just take her out without saying anything more.
"Haven't you played enough? I can feel its contract link outside. Did you bring it back just to kill it in front of me?"
A calm voice sounded. Lin Fan paused and looked down at her.
She kept her head lowered, her long hair covering her face like a curtain.
"You mean that dog? I did bring it back, but I don't intend to kill it. Wasn't it you who sent it to find reinforcements?" Lin Fan replied.
At that moment, the woman finally raised her head and looked at him.
Lin Fan saw a pair of stunning, emerald-green eyes glaring at him with killing intent, but he froze in place instantly.
He did not just freeze; his breathing even stopped for a moment as he stared at the woman with wide eyes, completely dumbfounded.
Too… too beautiful!
This thought exploded in Lin Fan's mind.
His mind went blank; he could not find any other words to describe her.
The woman before him was breathtakingly beautiful.
Even in such a plight, she was still stunningly gorgeous.
Most amazingly, she looked no older than twenty-five.
Fortunately, he was wearing a mask, so the woman could not see his expression.
She only thought this masked person was staring at her, so she continued:
"You bastards from the Dark Alliance, coming up with new tricks? Roleplaying?"
"If you want to kill me, do it. Don't waste your breath."
The woman's tone was resolute, her gaze fearless.
Lin Fan: "…"
Kill?
Who wants to kill you?
Let me find that guy, I guarantee I'll throw him into the vortex and whip him with a lightning lash!
However, he quickly regained his composure, realizing that this beauty was talking about him, and felt somewhat confused.
He had come to save her; why would she think he wanted to kill her?
"I think you've misunderstood. I am not from the Dark Alliance."
Lin Fan explained, trying to keep his tone calm.
The woman looked at him dismissively, believing he was lying.
But looking at his Mage Robe again, she noticed the style was indeed different from those scumbags who had attacked her.
"If you aren't from the Dark Alliance, how did you find this place?"
She remained full of vigilance.
After all, she could not sense this person's Rank, so she would not be easily deceived.
"I told you, I followed your Contracted Beast to save you. I found it near the small town."
Lin Fan said.
Hearing this, the woman's eyes changed, but she quickly returned to a calm state.
Lin Fan saw it clearly: a glimmer of hope.
"If you really aren't from the Dark Alliance… can you help me unlock these chains?"
She asked tentatively.
"Yes."
Lin Fan agreed, reaching for the chains on her wrists.
"Wait!"
The woman suddenly spoke, and Lin Fan's hand stopped in mid-air. He looked down at her and asked what was wrong.
The woman looked up at him, her face full of confusion:
"These are Magic-Absorbing Chains. Even if a Fifth-Order Mage touches them, their magic power will be instantly drained. You intend to touch them with your bare hands?"
The woman's words entered his ears, but Lin Fan did not take in a single word; he was too busy looking at her beautiful face as she tilted her head up.
It felt quite nice to be looked at by her!
"Don't worry."
He said casually the next moment, reaching out and grabbing the chains.
As soon as his palm touched the chains, Lin Fan felt the magic power in his body being crazily sucked away.
"So this is what she meant."
"But even if it absorbs at this speed, if it sucked for a week, my magic power would still be enough."
Lin Fan thought to himself. His soul sea was now incomparably vast, and his internal magic reserves were beyond imagination.
He grabbed the chains and applied a little force.
With a crisp cracking sound, the chains shattered piece by piece and fell to the ground.
The woman: "…"
She looked at Lin Fan in shock, unable to believe her eyes.
Even a Fifth-Order Mage could not possibly destroy Magic-Absorbing Chains with bare hands so easily.
Just how strong was this person?
Her arms were no longer suspended by chains, and her magic power was no longer being continuously drained.
However, she did not stand up immediately, only staring at Lin Fan's mask.
Lin Fan felt a bit uncomfortable being watched by her.
"What's wrong?"
He asked.
The woman thought Lin Fan disliked her staring, so she quickly averted her gaze.
She dared not ask the other party's Rank; after all, the other party had just saved her, and that would be too rude.
"Nothing."
She replied.
Lin Fan was a bit confused but did not press further.
After unlocking the chains, he could already sense the woman's Rank… she was a Fifth-Order Mage!
A few seconds later, the woman finally stood up with difficulty, looked around, and asked Lin Fan where the people from the Dark Alliance had gone.
"They are all dead."
The woman stared blankly at his mask, somewhat unable to believe it.
Seven members of the Dark Alliance were all dead?
They didn't escape?
She had only heard a brief commotion earlier; how could this person have killed everyone in such a short time?
She knew their strength well, after all, she had fought them herself.
It was very difficult for even a Sixth-Order Saint Mage to kill a Fifth-Order Mage.
Once they decided to run, it was as difficult as ascending to the heavens to stop them!
