180: Chapter 180 Lin Xi's Determination, Jiang Yuan's Silent Mockery

The next morning, Jiang Yuan woke up naturally around seven o'clock.

Perhaps it was because she was still young enough, or perhaps because her body's energy had been enhanced after transmigration, it had always been beyond that of an ordinary person.

So even if she stayed up late the night before, Jiang Yuan rarely had experiences where she slept until nine or ten before waking up naturally; usually, around seven or eight, with only four or five hours of sleep, she could basically recover enough energy to last the whole day.

She stretched her jade-smooth arm out from under the covers, reached for her phone on the nightstand, and squinted at the screen; it was only a little after seven-forty.

The daylight leaking through the gap in the curtains was gray and gloomy, not looking like a sunny day; the weather in Shanghai had always been unpredictable.

She lingered in bed for another five minutes to clear her head, quickly running through the people she had to see and the things she had to discuss today, before finally throwing off the covers and sitting up, revealing her slender figure in penguin pajamas.

By the time she was washing up and changing, there was already movement in the living room.

Lin Xi had rarely woken up earlier than her and was standing in front of the fridge rummaging through things, her hair messy like a bird's nest, wrapped in a hoodie and shorts that were clearly a size too large, revealing two straight, fair, long legs.

Jiang Yuan walked over, poured a glass of warm water, and drank it slowly, only asking curiously after she finished:

"Why are you up so early today?"

Since she had firmly told the other girl that she didn't need to cook breakfast for her every day and only needed to occasionally practice her culinary skills in the evening, Lin Xi had rarely gotten up early in recent days.

Hearing the question, Lin Xi poked her head out from the fridge, holding a carton of milk and a box of blueberries, her pretty face carrying a tragic sense of determination as she said firmly:

"Starting today, I'm going to sleep early and wake up early, develop good living habits, and never stay up late again. Last night, I went to bed before two o'clock!"

Jiang Yuan glanced at her and said nothing.

But the amount of information in that single look was enough to express everything she meant!

After eating breakfast, Jiang Yuan walked out the door.

The sky outside was indeed gloomy, with clouds hanging very low, and there was a damp, earthy smell in the air, as if it were about to rain.

As usual, she walked toward the company along the sidewalk she had traversed countless times, her pace neither fast nor slow. Wearing dark blue jeans, a white hoodie, and black-and-white canvas shoes, she looked incredibly vibrant, youthful, and beautiful.

It was just about nine o'clock when she arrived at the company.

She first went to her office to turn on the computer, took a sip of the hot latte already prepared on the desk, and then opened the folder Wen Lan had placed there in advance, which contained a brief outline for today's meeting.

At ten-thirty, there was a knock on the door.

Zhao Qingrong pushed the door open and entered, followed by Qin Gong.

But to Jiang Yuan's surprise, the lead artist of Spark Studio, the pretty and gentle Su Meng dressed in casual clothes, actually followed them in as well. Noticing Jiang Yuan's curious gaze, she gave Jiang Yuan a playful wink.

The three of them sat down opposite Jiang Yuan. Wen Lan brought in three cups of tea, set them down, and then stepped to the side to open her notebook and prepare to take notes.

Jiang Yuan got straight to the point, saying clearly:

"I've called you here today to synchronize on a few things and also to hear your opinions."

Hearing Jiang Yuan's words, Zhao Qingrong immediately sat up straight, her expression becoming exceptionally serious.

She was in her thirties, with her long hair tied up, wearing thin-framed glasses, and her gaze was steady and piercing. She usually didn't say much during meetings; every time she spoke, it was generally because Jiang Yuan had taken the initiative to ask.

Since Spark Games was founded until now, she had been there for over a year. Though not a founding member, her seniority was deep enough.

Her clear gaze swept over the few people, and Jiang Yuan said in a gentle tone:

"The first point is the issue of the mobile platform! The mobile ports for Vampire Survivors, Slay the Spire, Plants vs. Zombies, and Minecraft need to be put on the agenda.

My idea is to prioritize directly acquiring a mature team with experience in mobile development. If a suitable target cannot be found in the short term, then we'll go the route of recruiting and building it ourselves.

Sister Zhao, I need you to first do a market survey to see if there are any suitable acquisition targets currently on the market!"

Zhao Qingrong nodded solemnly in agreement.

Jiang Yuan thought for a moment and continued to supplement:

"While you're gathering information, simultaneously prepare a self-recruitment plan as well. We'll push both sides forward in parallel, and whichever is faster, we'll go with that first."

Seeing Zhao Qingrong nod respectfully, Jiang Yuan said seriously:

"As for the second matter, it's that I want to establish a third studio internally."

Qin Gong and Su Meng were both energized upon hearing this, but they also seemed to have expected it. There wasn't much surprise on their faces; perhaps they had already seen her underlying ambition through Jiang Yuan's usual words and behavior.

Jiang Yuan didn't mind this and continued:

"The positioning of this studio is different from both Starry and Spark."

"It won't do indie games, it won't do single-player, and it won't do small-scale projects. It will only do massive multiplayer online games. I already have a direction for the first product; the provisional name is PUBG, Chinese name 'Juedi Qiusheng' (playerunknowns battlegrounds), a tactical competitive hundred-player online game. A real hundred players in the same match, not just a gimmick."

Upon hearing these words, the office suddenly fell into a state of silence.

Since joining Spark Games, Qin Gong had followed Jiang Yuan and seen many big scenes, and he considered himself not easily shocked by anything anymore.

But the four words 'hundred players in the same match' still made his eyebrows twitch uncontrollably.

Having been in the game industry for over a decade, he knew very well what this concept implied: server architecture, network synchronization, physical collision optimization, and most importantly, anti-cheat measures. Every single one was a technical pit that could drag a hundred-person startup team into a quagmire.

But he didn't raise any doubts.

In the few years of working with Jiang Yuan, the first lesson he had learned was: if President Jiang said something was to be done, then resolutely support it! Absolutely uphold it!

Su Meng, on the other hand, was curious and asked directly:

"President Jiang, what do you estimate the team size of this new studio will be? Will core positions be hired externally or transferred internally?"

Hearing this, Jiang Yuan leaned back against her chair, her arms crossed and her expression calm as she said:

"The initial team size is set at one hundred to one hundred and twenty people."

"Core positions will mainly be external hires. I need senior engineers with experience in developing large-scale online games, especially those with practical experience in server architecture and network synchronization."

"Manager Su, Manager Qin, and Sister Zhao, this matter might require you to use all your networking channels. After you go back, help me think if there are any talents in this field you can recommend."

Su Meng and Qin Gong both fell into deep thought upon hearing Jiang Yuan's words, seemingly trying hard to recall memories from their minds.
