29: Chapter 29 Sometimes I can't help but wonder, is Jiang Yuan really human?

After reading these posts, a faint smile flashed across Jiang Yuan's exquisite and flawless face, though her expression didn't change much otherwise.

Chen Yu took the phone back from her hand and asked curiously, "Boss, what's your take on those people?"

Jiang Yuan glanced at him and retorted, "Which ones?"

"The companies that say they want to jump on the Slay the Spire bandwagon!"

Withdrawing her gaze, Jiang Yuan said indifferently, "Following trends is their freedom. We can't force them not to do it, so let them follow if they want to."

Chen Yu nodded thoughtfully and then walked out of the office.

As soon as he came out, everyone's eyes immediately fell upon him. Zhou Ming first glanced toward the office, then lowered his voice and asked furtively, "What did the boss say?"

Chen Yu chuckled and said, "The boss said to let them be; there's no need to pay them any mind."

Hearing this, they looked at each other, all secretly pondering the specific meaning behind Jiang Yuan's words.

Finally, Su Meng couldn't stand it anymore and said with a helpless expression, "President Jiang means to let them follow the trend; anyway, these people won't be able to make anything decent!"

"Oh!" Upon hearing this, everyone immediately let out an "oh" of realization, then went back to being busy with their respective tasks.

It was the first day of work after the holiday and the third day since the game's release. Everyone's bodies were brimming with energy and motivation, which was now being put to good use on their current work.

Not long after Chen Yu sat down, he was called back into the office by Jiang Yuan.

"Post an announcement on the official Spark Games account later," Jiang Yuan said, her voice crisp, without lifting her head from the screen. "Just say that Slay the Spire has sold over a million copies in its first three days, and we are very grateful for the support from players who like this game."

Chen Yu was stunned for a moment. "Just post that? Anything else?"

Jiang Yuan said, "Do you have any good ideas?"

Hearing this, he scratched his head and tentatively suggested, "Should we write something sentimental? Like, 'Thank you for being with us on this journey' or something like that?"

Jiang Yuan was instantly speechless. She rubbed her forehead and chuckled, "You can write it if you want, but don't use the company account; use your own."

Chen Yu thought about it and ultimately abandoned this idea, which he had considered quite good, with a hint of regret.

Back at his desk, he opened the official accounts for Spark Games on Wei-bo, Douyin, and Bilibili. These accounts had only been verified one after another last month, and he was responsible for managing them all. The one with the highest number of followers, Bilibili, had already reached over 300,000, while the lowest, Wei-bo, had a full 40,000-plus.

Without buying followers, this follower count could be considered somewhat valuable. As for how much exactly? That would depend on whether anyone else bought followers for them.

The last time these three accounts posted an update was three days ago, the day Slay the Spire officially launched, with a simple message: "The game will officially launch on Steam at [time], please everyone..." Below it, the comment section was filled with "Finally waited for it" and "Buy, buy, buy."

He thought for a moment and typed out a passage: "Slay the Spire has officially been live for three days, and sales have exceeded one million copies. We thank every player for their sincere support! We will turn this deep affection into motivation and continue to work hard to bring better works to every player who likes our games!"

Simple, direct, without any embellishment. He checked it once and clicked send. Then he began refreshing the comment section.

In one minute, the comments broke one hundred. In two minutes, the comments broke three hundred. Chen Yu widened his eyes and began reading them one by one to the others who had unknowingly gathered around:

"One million in three days, holy cow, Spark Games, are you even human?"

"I contributed three copies—one for myself, one to gift a friend, and one for my ex-boyfriend. It's a bit of bad luck, but the game is innocent!"

Seeing this comment, everyone immediately burst out laughing, then hurriedly covered their mouths, fearing they might disturb Jiang Yuan in the office.

Chen Yu made a "shh" gesture, glared at the people around him, and then continued reading in a low voice:

"Please, developer, show your face. I want to see what kind of big shot made this game."

"Exactly! Let Jiang Yuan come out! We want to see just how pretty the best friend with a perfect 10/10 appearance that Lin Xi talks about really is!"

"I wanted to say this back when Vampire Survivors came out: the studio boss definitely isn't an ordinary person; they have great ability. If they don't actively try to sabotage themselves on the second game, they'll definitely continue to be a huge hit!"

Lin Zhengtao couldn't help but push up his glasses: "Players are quite curious about President Jiang?"

Although Su Meng hadn't come over to watch, she couldn't help but speak up upon hearing this: "How could they not be curious? Twenty-one years old, making Vampire Survivors by herself, and leading a small team of six to make Slay the Spire—if it were me, I'd be curious too."

Zhou Ming shook his head and said, "Sister Su, what you're curious about isn't the same thing as what these players are curious about. In my opinion, these players seem more curious about President Jiang's appearance."

Chen Yu continued reading: "Spark is so aloof even when posting announcements; it must be just like the boss, right? We still don't know what she looks like; is this reasonable?"

"I suggest the boss open a Wei-bo account. The follower growth will definitely be much faster than the official account. Reaching a million followers in three days is not a dream."

Zhou Ming turned his head and shouted toward Jiang Yuan's office: "Boss, the players want you to open a Wei-bo account!"

Jiang Yuan's voice drifted out from inside, her tone indifferent: "Not opening one."

Chen Yu couldn't help but laugh: "The boss refused way too bluntly."

As he was reading, he suddenly stopped.

Zhou Ming asked, "What's wrong? Why did you suddenly stop?"

Chen Yu turned the screen around. It was a comment on Bilibili that had been pushed to the very top, with over a thousand likes:

"I'm not much of anything, just a game developer who's been in the industry for eight years. Honestly, reaching one million in two days is a figure I wouldn't even dare to imagine in my lifetime; I only dare to fantasize about it in my dreams at night. Spark Games—their first game with over three million in sales, and their second breaking one million in three days. Two huge hits in a row; this can no longer be explained by 'luck.' They must have something we don't know about."

"But what I'm even more curious about is the producer named Jiang Yuan. Twenty-one years old, starting from scratch, and now with a net worth of over one hundred million, becoming a super wealthy and beautiful woman—is this even real? Sometimes, I can't help but wonder, is Jiang Yuan really human? I can only say that the gap between people is sometimes truly larger than the gap between people and dogs!"

After Chen Yu finished reading, the office briefly fell into silence. Let alone this person, they themselves had been working day and night with Jiang Yuan ever since joining the company.

But the closer they got to her, the more they admired and worshipped Jiang Yuan even more than the person in the comment. They couldn't figure out how the brain of such a young, pretty girl was wired, having so many endless, strange, and wonderful ideas, such solid and impressive skills, such...

Just as they were all feeling deeply moved in their hearts, Jiang Yuan, with her black hair draped over her shoulders, wearing black jeans and a white shirt, looking handsome and cool, suddenly appeared at the office door.

Several people looked up at her simultaneously. Jiang Yuan's exquisite face was calm, and she held a cup, clearly just coming out to get a glass of water.

Chen Yu mustered up the courage to ask, "Boss, the players want you to show your face; what do you think?"

Jiang Yuan's steps toward the pantry paused, and she said indifferently, "What's there to see? Games are always better looking than people."

Having said that, she leisurely went to the pantry to get coffee. The few of them looked at each other and could only continue to busy themselves with their tasks, putting an end to this topic.
