99: Chapter 99 If you are Jiang Yuan, then who am I?

On June 14th, a little past 7:00 PM, Ye Qing started his livestream with impeccable punctuality.

He first changed the stream title to: "Newbie exploration! Day five, finally able to craft iron equipment!", then skillfully logged into the Spark Game Platform. Seeing that there was no update package for Minecraft yet, he simply entered the game directly to wait for the version update scheduled for 8:00 sharp, as already announced by the platform.

While waiting to enter the game, he didn't idle but started chatting with the viewers in the stream's chat.

Ever since that highlight play in the endless mode of Plants vs. Zombies, his viewer count had stabilized at around three thousand, with over two hundred "captains," making him a moderately well-known streamer in the Bilibili console gaming section.

Originally, he had made up his mind to mainly stream Slay the Spire and Plants vs. Zombies from then on.

However, recently, after Minecraft launched, its popularity grew day by day. Considering that it was also a Spark Games title, he went with the flow and streamed it for a few days, and his metrics rose another notch. If this continued, he might really not be far from becoming the top streamer in the Bilibili console gaming section.

"Good evening, hubby!"

"Get lost, you gay!"

"Brother Qing, are you still playing MC today? Why not play Plants vs. Zombies instead!"

"It's really not me being stubborn, but I completely don't see what's fun about this pixelated block game?"

Because the stream had just started, the chat looked sparse.

Ye Qing glanced at the chat, adjusted his microphone, and said:

"I'll continue streaming Minecraft today, still on that same survival save. I spent all day mining yesterday and finally gathered enough iron. Today, I plan to upgrade all my equipment to iron."

As for the occasional disparaging comments in the chat.

Having been a streamer for so long, he had basically learned to ignore these "haters," and if they were too much, he would just mute them.

Furthermore, he could tell that this guy was likely trolling. He wouldn't bother with trolls, but whether one of his mods took it seriously and muted him, that would purely depend on the guy's luck.

During those ten or so seconds of chatting with the viewers.

The game had already loaded.

Ye Qing immediately started playing, feeling a bit impatient.

As soon as he logged in, he saw his blocky character standing in front of a small wooden hut.

Calling it a small wooden hut was a stretch; in reality, it was just a square box made of oak planks, containing a bed and a crafting table, with a furnace and two chests piled in the corner, looking incredibly shoddy.

When Ye Qing rested after streaming these past few days, he had scrolled through videos and come across quite a few viral videos of people building all sorts of beautiful houses.

Was he envious? In his heart, Ye Qing definitely was.

But alas, since heaven had opened a door for him in terms of technical skill, it had closed a window in other areas.

When it came to architectural design, Ye Qing was truly hopeless; the houses he carefully designed could only be described as the kind that would make even himself laugh.

Shaking his head to dispel the thoughts in his mind, Ye Qing said softly:

"Let's check the inventory in the chest first."

He opened the chest and saw the various resources he had accumulated over the past five days neatly stacked inside.

Among them were over three stacks of oak logs, one stack of cobblestone, two stacks of coal, and the fruits of his entire day of mining yesterday: twenty-nine iron ingots.

Twenty-nine didn't seem like much, but in reality, gathering them took quite a bit of time, and this was already enough to craft a full set of iron equipment.

Muttering to himself as he counted, Ye Qing started crafting on the workbench. After counting for a while, he suddenly beamed with joy:

"An iron pickaxe needs three iron ingots, an iron sword needs two, a full set of armor needs... Enough, enough, it's just enough. I thought I'd have to get some more today."

With that said.

He dragged the iron ingots into the crafting grid of the workbench and crafted them one by one.

Then, he dragged the finished iron equipment into his inventory, opened the equipment screen, and swapped out the set he was wearing, which was almost out of durability.

After putting on the iron equipment, his character model instantly changed its appearance.

Gray iron armor covered his entire body, looking much thicker than the previous set, as well as more imposing and handsome; he looked just like a medieval knight.

Ye Qing nodded in satisfaction and said:

"Once you put on this iron gear, it feels like a huge power spike! When I wore that previous set, one hit from a zombie would take off a heart. Now that I'm wearing iron armor, the zombies just tickle me."

Chat:

"Damn it, you finally changed your gear. That pile of rags made me want to puke."

"Indeed, I had iron armor by the second day. You're way too slow; are you really a pro gamer?"

"Stop bragging, it's not illegal to brag anyway!"

Ye Qing ignored the chat and continued rummaging through the chest.

He also knew that his progress was a bit slow compared to the main player base because he had to stream other games.

But as a streamer, he couldn't really say anything at the moment, so he could only ignore such slightly malicious comments.

There was also a bow in the chest, which he had managed to craft after struggling to gather enough string and sticks two days ago.

Although it wasn't a very powerful weapon, it was something he had put effort into making, so he took it with him as well.

Fully arming his character, Ye Qing smiled confidently and said:

"Let's go, let's head out for a spin and see if there's anything new to discover!"

Controlling his blocky character to walk out of the wooden hut, the outside world was just in daytime, with sunlight streaming down through the clouds, looking comfortable and not blinding.

Seeing this scene.

Ye Qing was suddenly curious and said:

"This must be the dynamic lighting system of the Aurora Engine that Spark Games officially mentioned, right? It looks really impressive. I wonder how awesome it would be if used in top-tier AAA games?"

Chat:

"Spark Games should be making AAA titles, right? I see their company has been hiring intensively; it seems like they have over a hundred people now!"

"Definitely. Why would they hire so many people if they weren't making AAA games? Why build a self-developed engine? Could it just be to keep making indie games?"

"What's wrong with making indie games? I really don't understand what's fun about AAA games; I only like indie games!"

"What nonsense are you talking about? Like what you like, but don't stop us from looking forward to the first domestic AAA game, okay???"

"Exclusive news: My uncle's nephew's wife's younger brother works at Spark Games. It's said that they have already started a major AAA project internally. It's a dark Journey to the West-themed single-player ARPG. I can only say, those who know, know; don't spread it around!"

"What the hell are you talking about? My mom is the cleaning lady at Spark Games, and she says the new AAA game is an urban-themed open-world game!"

"Stop arguing, everyone! I am Jiang Yuan. I was betrayed by a villain beside me and am now trapped in a cage. I need a kind soul to transfer me 500. Once I escape, I will grant you the position of Vice President of Spark Games..."

"Wait, if you are Jiang Yuan, then who am I???"
