77: Chapter 77 Jiang Yuan, who was momentarily lost in thought

Although a brainstorm was currently raging in her mind,

Jiang Yuan did not mention the platform issue to anyone else over the next few days, keeping it buried deep in her heart.

In fact,

though she hadn't said anything, she already had an inclination in her heart; she was simply waiting for the right opportunity to inform the others of her decision through a meeting.

Thus, Jiang Yuan chose to focus on the tasks at hand first.

Under her leadership, the development progress of Minecraft was going much smoother than she had originally anticipated.

However, being smooth didn't mean there were no troubles.

Although the Aurora Engine was powerful, the other members of the company were far from familiar enough with it.

Core programmers like Chen Yu and Lin Zhengtao were doing alright; they were quick learners and had her frequent guidance. Within a week, they were already proficient in using most of the functions of Aurora Engine 1.0.

But the other employees who had just been recruited—no matter where they worked before or how great their skills were—found themselves somewhat lost and at a loss when facing this completely unfamiliar engine without Jiang Yuan's guidance.

Regarding this,

Jiang Yuan naturally noticed the problem as well.

So, she called over Lin Zhengtao, who was temporarily serving as the head of the company's Programming Department, and instructed him:

“Old Lin, make arrangements when you go back. Starting next week, we’ll have engine training every Wednesday afternoon. Everyone must attend.”

“The training will be divided into two parts: basic operations and underlying principles. I will teach both parts personally. Tell everyone to bring any questions they have to the training so I can answer them one by one.”

Lin Zhengtao had thought Jiang Yuan called him in to talk about engine-related matters. Hearing this, he couldn't help but be stunned for a moment and said:

“You're teaching it personally?”

“Mm.”

Dressed in a pure black casual suit that complemented her jade-white skin, Jiang Yuan gave a soft 'mm' with a cold and elegant temperament, her ink-black hair draped casually over her shoulders. She didn't even look up as she said indifferently:

“The engine is the foundation of all our future products. Everyone needs to master it thoroughly. Not just programming, but planning and the Art Group must also participate. At the very least, they need to know which functions are natively supported by the engine and which need to be implemented manually.”

“After you go out, ask Su Meng to come in for a moment.”

Although it felt a bit sudden,

Lin Zhengtao was naturally supportive and happy to see Jiang Yuan's decision.

After all,

even he himself currently had only a superficial understanding of all the functions of Aurora Engine 1.0. If he could have a technical giant like Jiang Yuan personally teach the class, his mastery of the engine would surely soar.

After Lin Zhengtao left with a look of pleasant surprise,

it wasn't long before Su Meng tapped gently on the door and walked in with light steps after receiving Jiang Yuan's permission.

Jiang Yuan looked up from her busy work.

The first thing that caught her eye was a slender, beautiful, and moving figure in a light pink turtleneck sweater and a white cotton skirt, her face lovely with bright, charming eyes and her long hair draped like a cloud.

It was as if a vibrant splash of light green had suddenly appeared in a world filled with gray and white.

For Jiang Yuan, who had been sitting in front of the computer all morning and whose eyes were now sore and dry, Su Meng's outfit was undoubtedly quite striking, making her eyes light up slightly.

Noticing Jiang Yuan's momentary lapse of focus,

Su Meng pursed her lips and gave a light smile, her voice as gentle as water as she said:

“Did you call me for something, President Jiang?”

Although she had become quite good friends with Jiang Yuan over the past year or so and they often went shopping and ate together in private,

at the company,

Su Meng was very mindful of boundaries and would never use that nickname she only used in private—Xiao Yuan.

But perhaps out of a little thought in her heart, or maybe just unintentionally, Su Meng usually called her 'President Jiang' at the company—a title few others used—which seemed both formal and yet carried a hint of intimacy.

“Ah? Oh...”

Coming back to her senses, Jiang Yuan rubbed her slightly aching eyes. Just as she was about to speak about the engine training,

Su Meng had already drifted over like a cloud, reaching out with her somewhat cool fingers to gently massage the area around Jiang Yuan's faintly throbbing temples.

At the same time, a refreshing and heart-cleansing fragrance seemed to linger around Jiang Yuan, making her squint her eyes in comfort and ease, momentarily forgetting the world around her.

...

Unsurprisingly,

when Jiang Yuan's decision was announced within the company, it caused a small stir.

The programmers had no objections; instead, they were full of anticipation and joy.

Because they had all witnessed just how incredible Jiang Yuan's technical level was—not to mention that the Aurora Engine was personally hand-crafted by her—being able to hear her teach in person was something they all practically begged for.

However, the planning and Art Group sides were a bit bewildered by this news.

“We have to learn the engine too?”

An employee from the Art Group said with a face full of confusion to Su Meng, who was temporarily serving as the head of the Art Department:

“Manager Su, we're all just painters; we don't know the first thing about code.”

At this moment, Su Meng didn't have the gentle and quiet demeanor she showed in front of a certain someone. Hearing this, she glanced at the person and said in a calm tone:

“President Jiang said you don't need to write code, but everyone needs to know what can be done and what can't, what the specific functions of the Aurora Engine are, and how it can help the Art Department.”

“As employees of the company, surely you don't want to be working here for three or four years and still have only a superficial understanding of the company's self-developed engine, being less familiar with it than engines from the outside?”

The employee opened their mouth but didn't know what to say.

Lin Ran couldn't help but snicker on the side, whispering to the colleague next to her:

“Have you noticed? The way Manager Su talks is sounding more and more like President Jiang.”

The matter of the training was settled just like that.

On the other side,

Qin Gong hadn't been idle either.

The Publishing Department's research reports were growing thicker and thicker, expanding from the initial seven platforms to over a dozen, and even several major overseas platforms were included in the scope of analysis.

Jiang Yuan read every report very carefully, occasionally annotating some questions and suggestions on the side.

However, she still hadn't expressed her stance.

Qin Gong saw this and was anxious in his heart. Although he desperately wanted to continue advising Jiang Yuan on how important having their own platform was for a successful game company,

seeing Jiang Yuan's face as calm as water, he didn't feel it was appropriate to say more. He knew Jiang Yuan might wait until the first playable version of Minecraft was officially out before making a decision.

What made Qin Gong somewhat relieved was that,

under Jiang Yuan's leadership and the powerful effect of the Aurora Engine, the company's current game production progress seemed to be stable and exceeding expectations. At this rate, it might not be long before the game Minecraft would be released to the world.
