The Black Lightning Dragon descended.

The dragon let out a low thunderous growl and then dissolved into sparks of black lightning, dispersing back into the heavens as if its task were complete.

Silence followed.

Wan Shou’s body trembled.

Cracks spread across his skin like shattered porcelain, demonic Qi leaking out uncontrollably.

His borrowed flesh could no longer sustain itself.

Yu Xuan stood before him, unscathed.

Not a single burn.

Not a single wound.

Wan Shou stared at him, disbelief finally surfacing through his calm facade.

"...So," he said hoarsely, "you are the one we were meant to capture."

Yu Xuan tilted his head slightly, eyes still black and white, expression indifferent.

’Just how vast are his Qi reserves...’ Wan Shou thought seriously.

"What a futile attempt," Yu Xuan muttered.

"And today I’m already in a bad mood."

He wanted to crush him now but then Yu Xuan paused.

Wan Shou’s voice echoed in his mind.

"Let’s meet again, consider this a welcome gift."

Wan Shou laughed thin and broken.

Then his body began to expand and shine.

Yu Xuan had a comical look as he waved his hand as Wan Shou’s body disappeared.

High above, the air collapsed inward.

A tremendous shockwave detonated outward, the ground below quaking violently as space itself rippled like disturbed water.

’Really self-destruction was that necessary?’ Yu Xuan thought.

Even knowing this is only a parasite body... that’s still extreme.

Below, the remaining demons staggered back, faces pale.

Wan Shou had intended to take Yu Xuan with him by absorbing their Qi.

He had failed.

But they were not finished.

"Form the net!" a sharp voice shouted.

The darkness retreated, dissolving into nothingness.

He needed to maintain efficiency.

In the next instant, a sword materialized in his hand.
