Chapter 55: Yang Ye is Generous"As you all know," Yang Ye began, his voice clear and confident, "the Heaven Immortal Sect has ten major peaks, each with numerous minor peaks beneath them. However, the most common peak where new disciples begin their journey is Azure Sky Peak."

He paused, glancing across the crowd. "It’s where your foundations are built properly, before you either specialize in a major peak or continue your path there."

Some among the disciples exchanged looks, as if unsure whether that sounded impressive or not.

"But don’t look down on Azure Sky Peak," Yang Ye added, his voice firm. "It’s not called a major peak for nothing. It holds strength, heritage, and experience equal to any other."

Letting his words sink in, he asked, "So, who among you was recommended to Azure Sky Peak?"

More than thirty hands rose in response, drawing gasps and murmurs from the group.

Yang Ye simply nodded. "Don’t be surprised. It’s actually quite normal. Many of you may not have had proper guidance in your early cultivation journeys. Being recommended here, to a place that can shape you — is a stroke of good fortune."

Some of the disciples lowered their hands, their expressions shifting into pride. Others silently absorbed his words, reminded that luck, too, was a part of a cultivator’s rise.

"We’ll look around for a bit," he continued casually, "and then you’re free to go for the day."

The group visibly relaxed, some whispering to each other, others just stretching.

But then Yang Ye’s tone turned serious.



"There are two things I want to warn you about. First — do not, under any circumstance, go to the extreme northern region of the sect. I don’t know the exact reason, but that area is forbidden by the Elders. Even we inner disciples are barred from going there."

A ripple of unease passed through the crowd.

"And second — if you intend to perform a summoning ritual, do it only in the registered zones," he added. "We are in a special, delicate spatial domain. Performing unregulated summons could result in... dangerous consequences."

Nods followed, some solemn, others curious.

In truth, summoning wasn’t rare in the cultivation world. Many cultivators bonded with beasts, using their strength to supplement weaknesses — or forming lifelong partnerships. But it came at a cost. The ritual of summoning followed the principle of equivalent exchange. And depending on the contract, it could mean exposing your vulnerabilities... or worse, losing control to the summoned being.

Most low-talent cultivators sought beasts to obtain special abilities or physical advantages. Higher-level cultivators, however, searched for beasts with intelligence and personality — ones who could walk alongside them, not beneath them.

Yu Xuan, standing in the crowd, pondered the idea. He too had thoughts of performing a summoning ritual one day — maybe even summoning a mystical fox that could transform into a seductive lady. It was a fun idea.

But he also knew the chances of that happening were low. Many beasts had pride and their own lineage; not all were willing to form bonds with cultivators.

His thoughts were interrupted as Yang Ye pointed to the horizon. "Now, we’ve arrived at the local market. This one’s nearest to our grounds, though there are several others across the sect."

The disciples leaned over the railings of the boat, eyes lighting up. Down below, a vibrant marketplace bustled with life. No shouting vendors like in mortal towns — just calm stalls, flowing robes, and simple exchanges. People browsed everything from herbs and talismans to toys, art, calligraphy, and books. There were even spirit food stalls.

It looked like a slice of the mortal world infused with cultivation charm.

"Everything here requires sect points," Yang Ye explained.

"Each month, you’ll receive a base allowance depending on your cultivation realm. You can also earn more by completing missions, participating in tournaments, or selling items and creations — assuming you have talent."



The boat slowly descended, landing in a quiet corner of the market.

Once they disembarked, Yang Ye waved his medallion, and a chime echoed as if a notification had been delivered to every disciple present.

"As a token of goodwill," he said with a smile, "I’m giving each of you 100 sect points. Buy what you need."

"Thank you, Senior Brother!"

"Senior Brother is generous!"

"Senior Brother, you’re so handsome!"

A sudden wave of praise erupted, disciples flattering him from every direction.

Yang Ye chuckled, clearly enjoying the attention.

"I’ll be waiting here in two hours," he said over the noise, "Don’t be late!"

With that, the disciples scattered into the market. Yu Xuan and the others followed suit, their excitement bubbling beneath the surface.

"What are you all planning to buy?" Yu Xuan asked, genuinely unsure of what he needed.

"I’ll buy a scabbard!" Mo Lin declared immediately. "See you later!" And just as quickly as he spoke, he dashed off into the crowd like he was afraid the scabbards might sell out.

"I think I’ll save my points," said Yu Xueqing thoughtfully.

"I’ll save mine too," Lin Fan added right after.



Yu Xueqing glanced sideways at him, frowning. "Are you copying me?"

"Not at all!" Lin Fan replied with an innocent smile. Then, he continued, "Would you like to stroll around the market together?"

Yu Xueqing hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, let’s go."

Yu Bo, watching the interaction, muttered under his breath, "So smooth."

The others around them were equally stunned.

Yu Bo, Yu Hao, and Yu Zhen exchanged looks, then simultaneously said, "I’ll head out too."

They stared at one another again, nodded like comrades sharing the same mission, and marched off together — like three musketeers, following in Lin Fan’s footsteps.

Yu Xuan blinked, baffled by the sudden departures. One moment he had a group, the next, half of them had scattered like leaves in the wind.

He looked around but didn’t see Yu Lingluo anywhere.

Only Ming Tianmei remained at his side.

"Where’s Lingluo?" he asked.

Ming Tianmei pointed toward a stall farther down the row. Following her gaze, Yu Xuan spotted Lingluo.
