Chapter 67: Peak MasterDarkness was the first to react, "What!? An Irregular? How... is that possible?"

His usually composed tone faltered as he stared deeply at Yu Xuan.

Irregulars were not just rare — they were legendary. Ultra-rare beings, perhaps only a handful appearing in generations.

The atmosphere in the room shifted.

All eyes turned toward the glowing golden medallion in Yu Xuan’s hand. No one spoke, but the change in their expressions was evident.

Curiosity had turned into something else — caution, and even disbelief.

Everyone present knew what that medallion signified.

They knew what it meant to be an Irregular — a title not given lightly. More importantly, they understood the true history of the Heaven Immortal Sect... and of the artifact spirit, Tianling, who personally oversaw these rare selections.

Elder Kun, still standing off to the side, finally broke the silence.

"Yes, he’s an Irregular," he said with a calm smile. "Now do you all understand why I was laughing earlier?"

A chorus of sighs echoed across the room.



Each elder present knew the privileges tied to an Irregular. They weren’t just ordinary geniuses.

And with that, the once-fevered clamor of competition dulled into thoughtful silence. None of them dared speak carelessly anymore.

"But how did an Irregular appear in the lower realms?" asked Light, his tone tinged with disbelief.

Silence followed.

Everyone in the room understood the weight of that question.

While the lower realms occasionally produced unique geniuses — or even monstrous talents, it was exceedingly rare for someone to earn the title of Irregular.

Most who attained it had ascended from the lower realms after countless trials... not before.

"Is this why we were all sent to the lower realms?" said Daoist Timeless, his voice now echoing through their divine senses in a more private exchange.

"Don’t you remember? That crazy old man came here in person," Darkness replied grimly.

"You know he can literally hear you even if you just think about him," muttered Daoist Waterfull, glancing over his shoulder as though expecting someone to appear out of thin air.

"Speak carefully," added Daoist Terra, sighing. "He might just give your fortuitous encounter to someone else... out of spite."

It was clear he had suffered a very personal and recent loss at that old man’s hand.

"I’ve never understood all that ’fate, destiny, prophecy’ nonsense," Daoist Vastness grumbled. "That’s why I rely on artifacts to protect me." He crossed his arms proudly, showing off his vast experience.

"No one wants to anger that old man," Daoist True Flame said flatly — the usually aggressive Fire Peak Master speaking with uncharacteristic caution.

Even he, the one known for charging headfirst into conflict, understood the consequences of crossing that enigmatic figure.

Though they now appeared calm, the disturbances they’d caused had already echoed across the sect — and now it was time to face the consequences.

In the room where the peak masters had been communicating through divine sense, another silhouette materialized from thin air.

The pressure that descended was suffocating. Even gazing at the figure was difficult.

As soon as the others recognized who it was, they instinctively bowed and chorused:



"We greet the Peak Master."

The silhouette shimmered with every color imaginable — so vividly that no single hue could define it. Just seeing this figure caused a few to break out in cold sweat.

They had assumed Elder Kun would have isolated the space, sealing their little argument from the outside world.

But now, it seemed that shameless old man had left it open, causing their antics to be broadcasted to exactly the wrong person.

They all glared at Elder Kun.

Elder Kun only shrugged, but when he noticed one particular woman in the crowd — who wasn’t angry but instead smiling sweetly; his expression froze.

He knew something terrible was about to happen.

The multicolored figure gave off an air of laziness and disinterest, then finally spoke, still not bothering to look at them directly:

"Why am I receiving multiple complaints today? And why were the mountains shaking? If I don’t find your answer satisfying... your resource quota will be halved starting now."

"What?!" someone yelped.

"Peak Master, this is bullying!" cried another.

"It wasn’t even serious!"

"Can’t we at least explain ourselves?" pleaded Light.

The Peak Master’s gaze finally turned toward Light. After a moment of thought, they said:

"You’ve got a good track record, Light. Fine. You may explain — but if I’m not convinced, half your territory goes to Darkness."

"What?! I only asked for a chance to explain!" Light said, visibly distressed.

The Peak Master stared at him with an unreadable expression. Light immediately lowered his head like a scolded child, wronged for something he didn’t even do.

Darkness, on the other hand, looked delighted... for a moment.

"And Darkness," the Peak Master continued casually, "if your explanation doesn’t satisfy me, half your territory will be given to Light."

"WHAT — ! But I didn’t even say anything!" Darkness protested, then promptly shut his mouth, knowing speaking will bring further losses.



Light then looked at the Peak Master with a pitiful expression and said, "It was a small matter... concerning a disciple."

The Peak Master raised an eyebrow, still sounding completely disinterested.

"What does that disciple have that’s worth all of you fighting over?"

Instantly, the rest of the peak masters began communicating via divine sense, throwing ideas back and forth in a silent panic.

"If I go down, everyone goes with me," Light warned flatly, his tone nowhere near as benevolent as his name suggested. "No way I’m taking this hit alone."

"Just buy time and keep her distracted," Darkness said urgently.

"Why would I listen to you?" Light replied coldly.

"Because if she lays eyes on him, none of us will stand a chance," said Daoist Terra, his tone unusually calm. "Cooperate now or lose everything."

"Right. If even one of us starts a disciple ceremony, she won’t be shameless enough to steal him outright," added Daoist Venomess with a hiss of agreement.

Just then, another voice echoed directly into their divine sense — smooth and amused.

"Oh? A secret conversation? Mind letting me in on this little talk?"

Their hearts collectively froze. The Peak Master had breached their divine sense link as easily as breathing.
