238: Chapter 238 Things are getting interesting.

When the Tesla Robot launch event began, Lu Li and Su Qingxue had already put on their Virtual Helmets.

The scene before their eyes darkened and then brightened; a second later, the two of them felt as if they had truly sat down inside the launch venue.

It wasn't like watching a livestream through a screen.

Instead, the stage lighting, the murmurs from the audience, the rotating lenses in the media zone, and even the waves of applause from below the stage and the faint humming of mechanical operation sounded as if they were right next to their ears.

Su Qingxue felt a slight shiver in her heart.

Even though this Virtual Helmet was made by their own company, she was still stunned every time by this near-"in-person" level of immersion.

The host in front was speaking eloquently about artificial intelligence, home services, and the industrial revolution, but Lu Li couldn't be bothered to listen after just a couple of sentences.

It wasn't until the spotlight truly hit the center of the stage and a silver-gray humanoid Robot slowly walked out that the nonchalance in his eyes finally receded.

The Robot wasn't particularly good-looking.

It lacked the bionic skin of the Guanghui Technology Robots, nor did it have the soft design that could make ordinary people feel an instant sense of affinity.

But when it took a step, its movements were too smooth.

The shift in its center of gravity was so natural it didn't seem mechanical.

Turning, raising its arm, grasping, pausing—every movement was clean and fluid, with almost no unnecessary lag.

More importantly, it was stable.

Whether it was standing on one leg or changing directions in succession, it didn't display that wobbly, comical feeling from six months ago, like a pile of scrap metal held together by force.

Su Qingxue sat in the virtual venue, her fingertips tightening.

Six months ago, she had seen that batch of so-called humanoid Robots from Tesla.

To put it bluntly, they were just a pile of expensive scrap metal.

They walked shakily, and turning around looked like they were about to fall apart.

But now, in just a short half-year, the other side had actually pushed their Robot to this level.

It was even on par with the batch of Robots currently being rolled out by Guanghui Technology in terms of movement, balance, and real-time intelligent feedback.

This wasn't just catching up.

This was a leapfrog advancement.

The color in her face faded bit by bit.

Yet Lu Li, sitting beside her, simply watched the Robot on stage, the corners of his lips slowly curling into an arc of genuine interest.

After the launch event ended, the two of them exited the virtual world.

When Su Qingxue took off her Virtual Helmet, her fingertips were cold.

She looked at Lu Li, her voice kept very low, yet she couldn't hide the underlying tension.

"What's going on with their Robot?"

"Did someone in our core team leak something?"

Lu Li leaned back into the sofa, casually setting the Virtual Helmet aside, his expression showing little fluctuation.

"Impossible."

He said these three words very calmly.

But the calmer he was, the more unquestionable it sounded.

Su Qingxue stared at him without saying a word.

Only then did Lu Li continue slowly.

"The true core technology of Guanghui Technology has never been fully placed in anyone's hands."

"Electric drives, skeletal linkage, motion control, dynamic balance, environmental perception, feedback learning, underlying scheduling... everything is broken apart."

"Each team only touches their own segment."

"Even if someone really causes a problem, they would only take away a fragment and wouldn't be able to piece together the full picture."

As he said this, his lips tugged slightly.

"Even if someone really did expose something, it wouldn't matter."

"Because what they obtained was only a fragment to begin with."

Su Qingxue nodded repeatedly as she listened; regarding confidentiality, she had also set out to arrange and draft many agreements.

Guanghui Technology would even send people to visit the homes of technical staff to check on their private lives and mental state, all for the sake of confidentiality and security.

Lu Li tapped his finger on the table again, his tone remaining casual.

"Besides, the most core aspect of a Robot isn't the shell, the motor, or the motion library."

"The true core is the underlying AI, the scheduling hub, and the feedback learning system."

"And this part has never been in human hands from start to finish."

"It is in the hands of Tech Director Dou Bao."

Su Qingxue's gaze narrowed slightly.

Lu Li said indifferently:

"Now, the entire hub of Guanghui Technology is no longer managed by people in the traditional sense."

"How permissions are divided, how data flows, who calls what module, which terminal shows an anomaly, which team attempts to cross permissions to access other projects—Tech Director Dou Bao is monitoring all of it."

"Project auditing, security isolation, dynamic locking—it does all of that too."

"The one truly sitting at the center of Guanghui Technology right now is not any director or any vice president."

"It is a super intelligent system that only takes orders from me."

When he said this, his tone was as flat as if he were talking about what to have for lunch.

But the more he was like this, the more it made one's heart sink.

Because Su Qingxue knew too well that Lu Li never boasted about such things.

She was silent for a moment, but still asked:

"It won't have any problems?"

"Like the kind in movies... losing control?"

Lu Li laughed upon hearing this.

"No."

"And it won't play out those low-level plots from movies where the underlying codes fight each other."

"Things like protecting humanity, only to end up locking all humans up—those kinds of tropes are fine for fooling the audience in a movie theater."

He raised his eyes, his tone so casual it was almost arrogant.

"In reality, my control over the AI is stricter than a director's control over a script."

Su Qingxue was convinced by his explanation.

But then she immediately thought of that Robot at the launch event earlier, and her heart couldn't help but sink again.

"Then how did they manage to do it?"

"What were those Robots from Tesla like six months ago?"

"Now, this 'Little Tesla V1' has almost caught up to our mass production line in terms of movement, balance, and intelligent feedback."

This time, Lu Li didn't answer immediately.

He was silent for two seconds, then surprisingly and quite frankly uttered:

"I don't know either."

Su Qingxue: "..."

She was stunned at first, then almost laughed in annoyance at him.

"Honey, then why do you still look so relaxed?"

"Do you know I was almost scared to death by them just now?"

Lu Li leaned back, his whole person returning to that lazy state.

"Because things have finally gotten interesting."

Su Qingxue frowned at him.

But Lu Li had already continued on his own.

"Recently, things in the country have been far too quiet."

"The projectors gave those traditional TV manufacturers a harsh beating, and now, besides buying internet trolls, buying marketing accounts, and spouting nonsense about eye strain, gimmicks, or being unsuitable for families, what else can they do?"

"Factories have closed, production lines have stopped, and inventory is piling up to the ceiling of the warehouses."

"Many families are now stuffing their TVs into storage rooms or selling them off cheaply on second-hand platforms."

"There's no one left who can make me take a serious look."

As he said this, a hint of genuine interest finally surfaced in his eyes.

"Now, finally, something decent has arrived."

When this sentence fell, the office was silent for a moment.
