46: Chapter 46 Seeing my wife's alluring uniform, I decided to stop pretending.

"Stop watching."

Su Qingxue took his phone and placed it face-down on the coffee table, her voice as soft as if she were coaxing a frightened child:

"In a situation like that, even professional firefighters are helpless. We're just passersby; what could we possibly have done? Don't take all the responsibility upon yourself."

Lu Li opened his mouth, but in the end, he said nothing.

In reality, if his Robot were commercially available, he could have saved that little girl.

Su Qingxue looked at the bloodshot eyes of Lu Li, assuming he was just shocked.

"Alright, I know you're soft-hearted."

She leaned down and hugged Lu Li, the faint scent of lemon dissipating some of the smell of smoke: "Hubby, don't think too much about it. We aren't Superman. Go on and get some sleep like a good boy."

Lu Li didn't move.

Su Qingxue thought he was still recovering, so she planted a kiss on his forehead before getting up and walking toward the study.

"Then get some rest. Chen Shuyu just sent over a few crash reports caused by server overloads, along with some urgent emails from the supply chain. I need to go handle them; I'll be back soon."

The study door was left slightly ajar.

Lu Li sat on the dim sofa, watching the light spilling out.

It was already one in the morning.

Through the crack in the door, he could see Su Qingxue sitting at the computer, rubbing her temples with one hand while typing rapidly with the other.

She was very tired.

The resurrection of Guanghui Technology brought not only glory but also a doubled workload.

Yet, in the car, she was still carefully coaxing him to accommodate his strange illness, saying she could support him.

But now, she was overdrawing her own life, working late into the night.

Seeing her exhausted state, images of his own sudden death flashed through Lu Li's eyes, even overlapping with a vision of Su Qingxue dying from overwork.

He closed his eyes and leaned back against the sofa.

In his previous life, he had lived like a machine and eventually died of overwork in the laboratory.

In this life, he wanted to live like a human being, spending his days with his wife in the simple routines of life.

But reality slapped him hard in the face.

Possessing the ability to change the world yet choosing to stand by and watch—that isn't enjoying life; that's being selfish.

"Not being able to save one person isn't scary. What's scary is that I actually treated that line from the press conference as just ordinary marketing."

In the darkness, Lu Li thought of that line from the conference: 'May the radiance of technology serve every person equally.'

Suddenly, his gaze gradually sharpened, and that sense of oppression that once dominated the global tech world returned to him.

At the very least, he should make things less strenuous for Su Qingxue, right?

If a Robot possessed advanced artificial intelligence to help her with her work, wouldn't she be able to avoid staying up late?

In his mind, the images of his own death and her death shattered simultaneously.

Since he had been reborn, even if he were a slacker living off his wife, he should at least make his beloved comfortable, right?

Once this thought arose, it grew wildly like weeds.

Lu Li returned to the bedroom and lay in bed, his thoughts in turmoil.

He didn't know how much time had passed.

In his half-asleep state, the bedroom door was pushed open a crack.

A rustling sound of clothing friction arose.

Through the cold moonlight filtering in from outside the window, Lu Li narrowed his eyes slightly, his breath catching sharply.

A graceful silhouette stood by the bed.

Su Qingxue wasn't wearing pajamas.

She was wearing a dark blue professional uniform, the cut extremely form-fitting, perfectly outlining her breathtaking waist and hip curves.

That was... a flight attendant uniform?

A small silk scarf was tied around her collar, and her long hair, which usually hung loose, was pinned up, revealing a long, fair, jade-like neck.

His gaze traveled downward.

It was a pair of long legs wrapped in ultra-thin, sheer black stockings, shimmering with a delicate and seductive luster under the moonlight.

The usually aloof and unreachable CEO was now blushing, biting her lower lip, her fingers nervously clenched against the side of her thighs.

She seemed to be undergoing a huge mental struggle, and then, carefully, like a thieving little kitten, she crawled into Lu Li's bed.

The cold, smooth sensation of the stockings brushed against Lu Li's calves.

It carried a hint of trembling and a hint of ingratiation.

"Hubby..."

She exhaled like an orchid against Lu Li's ear, her voice as faint as a mosquito's hum, yet filled with a soul-stirring seductiveness: "Is the flight... taking off tonight?"

On this night, while some awakened, others naturally found it hard to sleep.

Tianqiong Entertainment, CEO's office.

Zhang Yuqing stood before the desk like a drowned dog.

A thick financial magazine was slammed hard against his face, the sharp pages leaving a red mark on his cheek.

"Is this what you call technological crushing?!"

Tianqiong's CEO, Ma Hu, pointed at the video of the Guanghui Mobile press conference on the screen, spittle flying everywhere: "Full-screen display! That is a real Full-screen display! What is this so-called core technology you brought over? Is it a chin wide enough to park an aircraft carrier?!"

Zhang Yuqing was trembling all over, covered in cold sweat: "Mr. Ma, this is impossible... Su Qingxue doesn't have the technical reserves for this; they must have stolen the technology from somewhere. This isn't scientific..."

"Screw your science!"

The boss kicked the coffee table: "The entire internet is praising Guanghui Technology as the pride of domestic products, and we at Tianqiong have become clowns who only know how to hire internet trolls! I registered a company overseas for you, circumvented non-compete agreements for you, and paid you such a high salary—get out! If you can't handle the public opinion, you can pack your bags and get the hell out!"

Across the ocean, California, Cupertino.

Nine in the morning.

The California sun shone through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows into the futuristic ring-shaped building of Apple Park.

Cook held a cup of warm coffee in his hand, standing in front of the window of the CEO's office, overlooking the campus.

The air was permeated with the relaxed atmosphere belonging to a top Silicon Valley giant.

He hadn't paid any attention to the clamorous press conference on the other side of the ocean last night.

In the Chinese market, countless phones claiming to rival Apple were released every year, only to end up as jokes.

Apple remained a god.

This was a confidence carved into his bones.

"Boss."

The office door was suddenly pushed open, without even a knock.

Cook frowned slightly and turned around.

The person who entered was the Senior Vice President in charge of the Greater China market.

This gentleman, usually known for his elegance and who should have been in Shenzhen, China, appeared here now with his tie crooked and a panicked expression.

"The quarterly financial report doesn't need to be this urgent..."

Cook took a sip of coffee, his tone indifferent.

"It's not the financial report! It's this!"

The Vice President slammed his phone onto the table with enough force to nearly knock over the coffee cup: "Boss, look at this. This is the new product launch conference for Guanghui Technology. You must watch it immediately."
