112: Chapter 112 The Foolish Thief

News of the Emperor's rage quickly spread throughout the entire Imperial Capital. It should be known that Main Body had always been a rather emotionally stable person; he knew he was faking it, but his clones didn't know that.

Of course, the clones didn't really hold the sentiment of "the master suffers, the subject dies" out of concern for their Emperor; they just wanted to see if they could fish in troubled waters and pull off a damn job.

For example, the former exile Wild Dog Cheng Yu. Because he could never manage his own fixed assets, he had no stable contact point, which caused him to lose a secret job he had been preparing to participate in. Not only was he wearing electronic shackles, but he even had to pay for the maintenance fees of this thing himself.

A man with money is a hero, a man without money is in trouble. Wild Dog Cheng Yu had once again become that lone wolf on the plains of the Hive City.

He gathered a few other deadbeat clones in similar situations, used his last remaining cash to buy equipment and firearms, and prepared to take advantage of the situation to rob a Slaanesh Nun encampment.

This encampment was located in the Underhive of the "Yucai" Hive City, nearing the heat exchange layer of the Hive City's steam towers. Outsiders rarely came here; only clones who were dirt poor or Slaanesh creatures pursuing extreme sensory stimulation would come here to suffer.

"Almost time, sync watches." Looking at the dark red pipes appearing before him, Wild Dog Cheng Yu said to the three deadbeat clones he had recruited.

The four of them extended their arms. Wild Dog Cheng Yu was wearing an electronic watch, another clone was wearing a mechanical watch, and yet another was wearing a children's watch. That was fine, but the last clone was actually wearing a watch he had drawn himself.

"Do you think you're very funny?"

"My watch can keep time!"

Everyone took a look. Although it was a drawn watch, it could indeed keep time. Warp technology—if you ask, it's just magical.

"Remember, we're only after money. Try not to hurt anyone. If you can rob them, do it; if you can't, retreat. If someone gets stuck inside, hold your own ground; don't bring trouble for your brothers."

Wild Dog Cheng Yu and the others had already seen the sign above the Slaanesh Nun encampment. He gave everyone a final pep talk.

"Boss Wild Dog, if we do this... won't we be digging our own graves by committing so many evil deeds?"

"Screw you. We're doing this to vent for Main Body. There are plenty of people doing this kind of thing during this period. Don't worry, no one will investigate!"

The few of them put on masks and held a type of faith-sustained-release tablet in their mouths. These tablets were sold by Imperial State Church priests, and it was said they contained the sincere faith of high-ranking monks towards Main Body. Holding one in your mouth could resist corruption from Warp.

Whether it was true or not was unclear, but plenty of people were buying them anyway.

"R-r-r... robbery!" Wild Dog Cheng Yu took the lead. He didn't actually stutter, but many of the clones did, and he figured he might as well try to mislead them a little.

The Slaanesh Nun, blocked by the muzzle of a gun, was shocked. Quite a few people had come to cause trouble these past two days, but everyone else was just stealing. You were the only one who dared to commit robbery—you've got some guts.

"What is it that you want?" This Slaanesh Nun unleashed her full allure field. The effect was outstanding; the three idiots behind him were immediately affected.

There were four guns in total. One was pointed at the Slaanesh Nun, and three were pointed at Wild Dog Cheng Yu.

Why wasn't Wild Dog Cheng Yu affected? Because he had chewed up the sustained-release tablet.

When the sustained-release tablet is chewed, the effect isn't just doubled—it's super-doubled.

"Kill him!" the Slaanesh Nun ordered.

The three idiots went click, click, click pulling their triggers, but nothing happened at all.

There was no help for it; funds were tight. Only the gun in Wild Dog Cheng Yu's hand was real; the ones in the hands of the three idiots... were just wood painted with lacquer.

"Bang!" Wild Dog Cheng Yu fired. The bullet flew past the Slaanesh Nun's ear. The powerful electromagnetic force directly shattered the cognitive filter on the Slaanesh Nun, and she transformed from a pretty-looking blonde nun into a three-eyed Centaur Nun.

"Money, take the money." The Centaur Nun wasn't afraid of death, but she was afraid of becoming mentally disabled.

Just yesterday morning, extremists had attacked another Slaanesh church. These extremists believed that the Cheng Yu Empire should be a pure reality-based empire and that all forces from Warp must be purged.

These extremists had developed a special material. While the gas produced after this material volatilized couldn't kill demons, it could effectively reduce a demon's soul strength. Simply put, it was an anti-demon idiot drug; take one whiff, and your IQ drops significantly.

The Centaur Nun was afraid that the clone in front of her might have that idiot drug too. Looking at his confident appearance, he might just have it.

Under the guidance of the Slaanesh Nun, Wild Dog Cheng Yu ransacked the encampment. To use an old dialect from Holy Terra, they were dirt-poor.

Aside from some scattered Imperial currency, there was only some low-quality alcohol, moldy tobacco, and some flimsy clothing that had been worn by who knows how many people.

This little bit of stuff—let alone covering the cost of the gun—couldn't even cover the lunch money for Wild Dog Cheng Yu and those three idiots behind him who were still pulling their triggers for the past two days!

"You're an encampment, for heaven's sake; how can you be this poor?!" Wild Dog Cheng Yu couldn't understand it. He had visited Slaanesh churches in the Mid-Hive before, and the demons there were decked out in jewels and treasures, looking extremely wealthy.

"It's not that we're poor because we live in the Underhive; it's because we're poor that we live in the Underhive." The Slaanesh Nun, the Centaur Nun, was also speechless. They had already had quite a bit of food and drinking water stolen over the past two days, and today there were people coming to rob them of clothes and pocket change. If this continued, they wouldn't be able to go on like this; she didn't even know who would be robbing whom tomorrow.
