123: Rewriting history, the tragic Lin Lie

Lin Lie was terrified at this moment.

The illusory cracks on his Godhead made him recall how he became a God.

He had been exploring ruins as usual when he suddenly gained a great opportunity, and then naturally broke through to become a God.

He wasn't stupid; various signs indicated that his rapid ascension to Godhood stemmed from this junior, whom he had just met for the first time and who was now trying to kill him.

Lin Chen ignored Lin Lie's barking.

At this moment, his consciousness had traversed time, returning to the time node when the Star Gate World was generated a hundred years ago.

To rewrite Causality and minimize the impact of changing the past, the entry time node could not be too early; the closer to the present, the better.

He wanted to save Liǔ Báizhǐ and the other two, so when they were in danger, he had to rewrite their destined death Causality; if the three of them did not die, subsequent history would undergo significant changes.

He could see Liǔ Báizhǐ, Lin Jie, and Bei Minghui resting in their home courtyard, with Lin Zhen and Lin Yuan, who were already four or five years old and could run around and play by themselves, beside them.

The Causality lines on the five individuals were intricately intertwined.

Lin Chen currently had only five opportunities to alter Causality.

The destiny ring stone could only withstand five Causality backlashes, and this was because the rewritten Causality was from a hundred years ago.

Once there was a sixth Causality alteration, the sixth Causality backlash would act upon his main body.

"Break!"

With his first opportunity, Lin Chen focused on Liǔ Báizhǐ and Lin Lie; the complex Causality entanglement between them had tightly bound their destinies together, and a portion of Liǔ Báizhǐ's luck had been shared with Lin Lie.

At this moment, as Lin Chen acted, the Causality lines between them collapsed, and the subsequently re-formed Causality was only shallow, like that of mere acquaintances.

A crisp cracking sound emanated from Lin Lie's body, clearly audible to everyone present.

Lin Lie's already fluctuating aura plummeted significantly.

On his Godhead, the first illusory crack turned real.

The Godhead is the most important support for a God, a life-bound object; damage to the Godhead is no different from personal injury, and a reduction in cultivation is only the lightest harm. The most terrifying punishment is the collapse of the Godhead due to cracks, leading to a fall from the God Realm.

One has only one chance to become a God in a lifetime; once fallen from the God Realm, unless one reincarnates and cultivates again, there is no possibility of becoming a God in this life.

"Stop!"

Lin Lie was terrified; he had become a God, almost as long-lived as the heavens, so he feared death even more. While fearing death, he could not bear the cost of falling from the God Realm.

He immediately attacked, attempting to interrupt Lin Chen.

However, Senior Jiu Yue had already guarded against him; as soon as he moved, the ethereal power of time emerged, immobilizing his physical body.

"Stay put. If you dare to interfere with him, I will personally make you fall from the God Realm."

Jiu Yue spoke the harshest words in the calmest tone.

The Dao of Time indeed has the ability to make one fall from the God Realm; as a Dao of Transcendence, the Dao of Time can achieve some things that the Causality Dao can.

Lin Chen was not worried about his safety at all and remained immersed in the Causality lines, beginning the second Causality rewrite.

As Lin Lie and Liǔ Báizhǐ's child, Lin Jie had more Causality entanglements with Lin Lie, with the Bloodline Causality being the thickest, and this Bloodline Causality also connected to Lin Chen.

"Break!"

The thick Bloodline Causality line snapped, and a new Bloodline Causality line emerged.

This Causality line directly bypassed Lin Lie, extending to a more distant time, eventually connecting to the Suspended Mountain Lin Family's Bloodline Source, becoming a new Bloodline branch in a practical sense.

"Old Lin, congratulations on having a child in your old age."

"I should indeed be congratulated. This child of mine suddenly became close to me, directly becoming my fourth-generation Bloodline, with our luck tightly intertwined."

"You really got lucky. It's a pity that in this generation of my Shen family, there's no one worthy of this child."

"Don't you think this child and Jiu Yue are a good match? Both are members of our alliance, and they have had multiple instances of her saving him. Moreover, one is Causality and the other is Time; their cultivation Daos can complement each other, and they can absolutely become Dao Companions."

"Heh, the old man is right."

"Jiu Yue's words just now really sounded like she was fiercely protecting her husband."

...

"This matter depends on the child's own wishes; we old folks shouldn't interfere too much. Arranged marriages are not good."

Old Lin ended the topic with a single sentence, and the others, who enjoyed the spectacle, continued to watch the show.

Inside the venue, a cracking sound emanated once again from the restrained Lin Lie's body.

A crack, almost spanning his Godhead, materialized from illusion, and his aura plummeted directly to rock bottom, with only a faint trace of God Realm aura still emanating.

Everyone who witnessed this scene understood that Lin Lie's fall from the God Realm was inevitable; they no longer paid much attention to Lin Lie. The protagonist of this event was Lin Chen, and he was the one who needed attention.

With a mid-Demigod cultivation, and by virtue of a divine artifact, directly severing the future of a Lower God and causing him to fall in rank is not something an ordinary person can do; even among Foundation Level prodigies, only a few can barely possess such an ability.

Foundation Level prodigies are one tier, and Lin Chen is already another tier.

The two Causality rewrites affected Lin Lie and the empire he established in the outer domain, but they did not affect the destinies of Lin Zhen's and Lin Yuan's families.

Striking while the iron was hot, Lin Chen began the third Causality rewrite.

The first two were crude severances of Causality lines, lacking in technical skill; the upcoming rewrite of the inevitable death Causality for Liǔ Báizhǐ and the other two would require meticulous control.

The descent of the Star Gate World and the rampant death rules were the cause, and the death of an entire city, with only two children surviving, was the effect.

Because the Star Gate's rule energy level was too high, belonging to the main rules of the universe, Lin Chen was currently unable to rewrite it.

He could only settle for the next best thing: eliminate the cause of the rampant death rules. Without this cause, there naturally wouldn't be the effect of an entire city dying.

As the cause of the rampant death rules was erased, the inevitable death outcome on Liǔ Báizhǐ and the other two disappeared, and countless Causality lines sprouted anew, giving them a future.

A soft "crack" attracted everyone's attention.

Lin Lie's aura completely withered, with no more God Realm aura circulating around him. His shattered Godhead transformed into pure energy, diffusing from his body into the surrounding space.

Lin Lie's eyes were hollow at this moment.

With his Godhead shattered and divinity lost, he couldn't even retain his cultivation from when he was at the Ninth Order Gods, only watching as his cultivation continuously drained away.

This Causality rewrite had a very significant impact.

Lin Lie directly fell from the God Realm, all the divine blood blessings on his imperial descendants were revoked, the imperial territory changed again and again, and the destinies of the beings within the empire were repeatedly affected.

The divine blood blessings on Lin Zhen's and Lin Yuan's families did not disappear; instead, they were greatly amplified beyond their existing foundation, almost reaching the level of innate divine blood.

Blessings from Foundation Level powerhouses are not comparable to those from a Lower God; the closer one is to the Bloodline Source, the stronger the Bloodline.

Of course, the most affected by this event was not the Lin family, but the city that was originally impacted by the death rules in history.

The lives of 200 million people in one city were extended; over a hundred years, these 200 million survivors would affect the destinies of at least trillions of beings.

Time ripples spread out, the River of Destiny surged, and various forces, manifesting due to the altered past, formed a terrifying paradox storm.

The Foundation Level entities watching the show would naturally not sit idly by and allow such a greatly impactful paradox disaster to erupt within the Federation's borders, nor would they let it run rampant.

"Wait, this child has a way to solve the problem."

Lin Chen sensed the paradox storm approaching, and he acted again.

This time, he did not alter existing Causality, but directly and forcefully created a segment of Causality to eliminate the paradox storm.

Cause: The Star Gate World detaches from Blue Star.

Process: Wandering in the void for a hundred years.

Effect: Reconnecting with Blue Star, Star Gate reopens.

This segment of Causality was nested by Lin Chen into the complex Causality lines. This Causality, without a clear beginning or end, continuously extended forward and backward, connecting with the existing Causality line network.

The paradox storm still raged, but it was not within the Federation's borders; instead, it swirled around the Star Gate World, ravaging the dark and silent void until it subsided on this very day, a hundred years later.

Lin Chen looked at the destiny ring stone, which already had cracks, and resolutely used his last opportunity to rewrite Causality.

He needed to ensure his own existence and not disappear after history was changed.

Cause: Rewriting history.

Process: Time and space flow, destiny closes the loop.

Effect: Status quo remains unchanged.

A new segment of Causality was created by Lin Chen and integrated into the existing Causality line network.

With a "crack," the destiny ring stone shattered, turning into pure stone fragments.

The destiny ring stone had fulfilled its destiny.
