91: Crushing battle, easy and carefree

The Huahai Squad spent two days, traversing hundreds of light-years of starry sky, finally arriving near their target resource planet.

This resource planet has a diameter of over 300,000 kilometers, but it is not a life-bearing planet; it is purely a mineral resource planet. The closest life-bearing planet is two light-years away.

There are not many of the One-Eyed Giant Race stationed on the resource planet; it is a regular One-Eyed Giant army of ten thousand, and the strongest Army Commander among them is merely at Demigod Peak.

The One-Eyed Giant Race has not yet become so extravagant as to station a God Ascension Realm Expert on an ordinary resource planet; there are far too many planets that need a God Ascension Realm Expert stationed more than this resource planet.

Especially with the war approaching, the front-line battlefields need God Ascension Realm Experts even more, and God Ascension Realm Experts of the One-Eyed Giant Race in the rear areas are even scarcer. Areas previously guarded by God Ascension First Order are now guarded by Demigod Peak.

On the resource planet, in addition to the small number of One-Eyed Giant Race troops, there are more enslaved miners of various races, numbering five billion.

These five billion living beings are all slaves; once they enter the resource planet, they have only one path: mining, and they can never leave the resource planet until death.

Upon learning of the situation on the resource planet, Lin Chen breathed a sigh of relief. Such enemies were what he should be dealing with; facing a God Ascension Realm Expert with his Tenth Order cultivation truly put immense pressure on him.

“Captain, we’ve finally encountered an evenly matched enemy. Without a God Ascension Realm Expert, we can wipe out the One-Eyed Giant Race on the resource planet on our own.”

“Actually, this is the norm when we perform missions; encountering a God Ascension Realm Expert is rather uncommon.”

Zhao Shijie explained to Lin Chen.

After all, a God Ascension Realm Expert is considered a high-end combat force, so ordinary missions really don't encounter them too often. Otherwise, the Assault Legion's squads wouldn't be composed of Demigods and Tenth Order martial artists.

There was no specific plan for the battle on the resource planet; it was a direct assault, aiming to eliminate all One-Eyed Giant Race within an hour.

The first group was to set up the planetary defense system, transforming the resource planet into a sturdy stronghold.

The second group was to clear out the slave miners, granting them permanent rest, to avoid being tied up by the slave miners once the battle began.

The third group was hidden in space, serving as a reserve force.

For Lin Chen, the team had special arrangements.

His Three Souls Clone also joined the three subgroups artificially divided by the squad, performing assigned tasks with teammates and cultivating their Lifebound Military Weapons along the way.

As for Lin Chen (Copy Body), he had a special arrangement.

Lin Chen had a medium-sized warship that he could control, which was a great weapon and the Huahai Squad's confidence in defending the resource planet against all threats.

Once this resource planet was taken by the Huahai Squad, the One-Eyed Giant Race in the surrounding area would inevitably dispatch a large number of troops for support, and among the arriving enemies, there would be warships.

This was when Lin Chen would enter the fray; only warship against warship would not be disadvantageous.

An individual facing a warship was ultimately somewhat powerless.

Even if the Human Race's individual strength was very strong and the One-Eyed Giant Race's warships were relatively weak, a warship was still a warship, and the threat was still very significant.

Three days passed, and all squads of the 001 Assault Legion arrived at their target locations and had already prepared their combat plans, ready for battle at any time.

After Army Commander Commander Beichen received the last squad's battle request, he did not delay, issuing the order to all squads to execute the mission and commence operations in three minutes.

Three minutes was not long.

When the three-minute countdown ended, the 42 members of the Huahai Squad, who had already entered the resource planet and were lurking outside the One-Eyed Giant army Camp, directly assaulted the Camp.

Before the Camp's defenses were even activated, the Huahai Squad had already pushed into the Camp's interior.

All One-Eyed Giants appearing in their line of sight were torn apart. The 42 individuals did not stick together but were dispersed around the Camp, entering single-person combat mode.

This mode allowed them to eliminate enemies faster.

If a stubborn enemy was encountered, nearby teammates could quickly provide support.

The power of the individual armory was fully unleashed on this battlefield without God Ascension Realm Expert combat power.

The individual armory, specifically, manifested as a portable space attached to the back of Lin Chen's military uniform. Once activated, the armory's intelligence would enter combat mode.

At this moment, sixteen smooth spatial portals followed him, floating above and behind Lin Chen's head. From these spatial portals extended sixteen gun barrels with calibers exceeding five centimeters.

Lin Chen's spiritual power had been integrated into the individual armory, allowing him to control the 16 gun barrels for free attack.

Any One-Eyed Giant appearing within his perception range would be locked onto by the gun barrels, and then, based on their energy level, different levels of attacks would be allocated.

A Tenth Order One-Eyed Giant attempted to teleport in front of Lin Chen to ambush him.

By the time he finished teleporting, the surrounding space had already been distorted by mirrors, and the Tenth Order One-Eyed Giant was directly fixed on the distorted mirror image space.

Although he didn't die instantly, the next moment he was shot through the neck by an energy laser, dying with his head separated from his body.

After the One-Eyed Giant died, its soul had not yet dissipated and before it could be drawn by the Underworld, it was forcibly extracted by the Human Sovereign Banner in Lin Chen's hand, completely losing the chance for its soul to return to the Underworld.

The One-Eyed Giant's soul, upon entering the Human Sovereign Banner, was shattered by the Banner's power. The pure soul transformed into spiritual essence that Lin Chen could easily absorb, while memories and various negative mental forces settled within the Human Sovereign Banner, forming an illusory battle armor.

Perhaps Lin Chen was very lucky; he slaughtered his way from the edge of the Camp to its center without encountering any Demigod-tier One-Eyed Giants blocking his path, and he didn't encounter any danger whatsoever.

He massacred over a thousand One-Eyed Giants as if on a picnic, not even getting a speck on his clothes. In fact, he barely even made a move himself, at most setting up mirror traps to prevent the One-Eyed Giants from approaching him.

Individual armory, you are the best.

Simply by controlling the individual armory, no One-Eyed Giant below the Demigod-tier could withstand a single attack; one hit, and they were cleanly and decisively killed.

Slaughtering One-Eyed Giants was even easier for Lin Chen than swatting mosquitoes with an electric fly swatter when he was on Earth, as mosquitoes are very agile, and killing them requires some skill and physical effort.

Technology greatly improved the Human Race's killing capability; before individual combat power became strong enough, killing capability could not surpass technological weapons purely designed for killing.

As for excessive killing causing psychological problems, Lin Chen had no such concerns whatsoever.

The One-Eyed Giant Race was somewhat ugly and very large in size. Lin Chen felt good killing them, with no discomfort at all; instead, he felt he had killed too few.

He was a Human Race supremacist; aside from the Human Race or races generally similar to the Human Race, he treated all others equally.

Useful ones were taken in as dogs; useless ones were killed for their meat and broth; those that couldn't be eaten had to be killed even more, otherwise, how could they have vast living space?

Living space is always fought for.

The Human Race's ancestors worked so hard for so long to secure living space for the Human Race. As a descendant, Lin Chen couldn't be like a prodigal son selling off ancestral land without a care. He cherished his current life very much and was more willing to fight for it.

The One-Eyed Giant Race, clearly, could not be eaten, and they were of no use to the Human Race. There was no problem in killing them all.

Moreover, by killing One-Eyed Giants, he could claim rewards from the Federation and also extract souls to cultivate the Human Sovereign Banner. With so many benefits, why not kill more?

At the center of the Camp, the 42 members of the Huahai Squad rendezvoused.

With the death of the last Demigod Peak One-Eyed Giant, the resistance on the resource planet was completely extinguished.

The squad naturally divided into three groups.

The first group began connecting with the planetary core to set up the planetary defense system.

The second group left the Camp to go to various mining cities and clear out the slave miners.

The third group was responsible for cleaning up the battlefield, summoning their Lifebound Military Weapons. They left nothing behind, not the One-Eyed Giants' flesh, bones, or soul energy, truly consuming everything. There was absolutely no material trace left of the deceased One-Eyed Giants in existence.

In terms of resource utilization, the Human Race was comparable to those few Calamity Races, and even surpassed them in some aspects; balance was the Human Race's hallmark.

Lin Chen, meanwhile, handed the Human Sovereign Banner to his Gods Avatar, who had joined the third group. He took a step, arriving in space, and summoned his medium-sized main warship that could be controlled by a single person.

He piloted the warship away from the resource planet, hiding behind one of its satellites, entering a silent state, waiting for the One-Eyed Giant's warships to arrive.

He estimated that the One-Eyed Giant Race would only have small warships available, as the front lines were stretched thin, and medium and large warships were all on the front-line battlefields, leaving at most small warships in the rear.

Facing the One-Eyed Giant Race's small warships, Lin Chen could completely treat them like shooting down planes; he wouldn't even need to activate the main cannon, and the secondary cannons wouldn't require charging, capable of destroying one per shot.

However, Lin Chen was destined to be disappointed. When the news of the resource planet's fall spread, the One-Eyed Giant Race's authorities in the surrounding area, upon learning of it, did not send reinforcements. Instead, they fled with their families aboard the only small warships with a bit of combat power.

With the authorities gone, the civilian One-Eyed Giants knew nothing, and they didn't even have the ability to leave the planet and flee.

Essentially, all upper-echelon One-Eyed Giants with some status and access to information were fleeing the frontier star sector. They clearly understood the Human Race's terror; staying there meant potential death at any moment.

Greed for life and fear of death, a common failing of intelligent beings.
