186: Chapter 186 Didn't brush your teeth? That won't affect anything.
Early in the morning, sunlight leaked in through the gap in the curtains.
When Jiang Fan woke up, he discovered he couldn't move.
Looking down, he saw Su Yuyan lying on her side, one leg draped over his waist, her ankles loosely hooked, her entire body clinging to him.
Her head was pillowed on his arm; her hair, which hadn't been fully dried last night, was now stuck frizzy against her cheeks.
Her mouth was slightly open, her breathing light, and her lips would occasionally twitch.
Jiang Fan looked down at the leg she had draped over his waist.
Her bathrobe had long since vanished into some corner, and this leg, fair and smooth, pressed against him, tracing a long line from thigh to calf.
He tried to move her leg away.
Su Yuyan let out a hum; not only did she not pull her leg back, but it slid down two inches, hooking even tighter.
Jiang Fan's body reacted quite honestly.
He glanced at Su Yuyan's still-drowsy face, then back at her restless leg.
The formidable President Su, who usually walked with a whirlwind of authority at the company, looked no different from a cat when she was lazing in bed.
Jiang Fan stared at the ceiling for two seconds.
What did she say last night? That she wanted to pay it back in installments.
He leaned down, bracing one hand beside her head.
Su Yuyan felt the light above her darken and instinctively cracked one eye open.
Before she could see clearly, her lips were blocked.
"Mmm—"
Jiang Fan didn't rush the kiss; the tip of his tongue parted her lips, carrying a warmth unique to the early morning.
Su Yuyan's mind hadn't fully woken up yet, but her body had already reacted.
Her calf unconsciously rubbed against the inside of his thigh.
After a dozen seconds, Jiang Fan pulled away.
Su Yuyan lay there, her eyes finally open, staring at him with a dewy, unfocused gaze for a few seconds.
"It's early in the morning... can't you just settle down..."
Jiang Fan didn't respond.
He stood up directly on the bed, looking down at Su Yuyan.
Su Yuyan was completely woken up by this action.
She tilted her head back, her gaze moving up along his calves.
"What are you doing?"
Jiang Fan reached out and pulled her up.
Su Yuyan sat halfway up, her hair loose on both sides, her face still wearing the bewilderment of someone not yet fully awake.
Then, something appeared in front of her.
Su Yuyan blinked twice.
"...I haven't brushed my teeth yet."
"That doesn't matter."
"Jiang Fan, you—"
"You said it last night, that you'd let me pay in installments."
Su Yuyan stared at it for three seconds, pressed her lips together, then relaxed them.
She lowered her head. And opened her mouth.
Thirty minutes later.
Su Yuyan leaned against the headboard, the back of her hand pressed against the corner of her mouth, turning her face away.
"You scoundrel. I'm going to brush my teeth."
Her voice was still muffled, and a flush of pink spread across her face.
The door closed with a distinct thud.
Jiang Fan chuckled on the bed, hands pillowed behind his head, staring at the ceiling.
The sound of water came from the bathroom, and after a while, Su Yuyan's voice drifted out.
"What are your plans for today?"
"Going back to the company to write. Song Siyi is pushing hard."
"Is it journey to the west again?"
"Yeah."
The water stopped, and Su Yuyan pulled the door open, still holding a toothbrush in her mouth, speaking indistinctly.
"I've been reading that novel of yours, too."
Jiang Fan turned his head to look at her. Su Yuyan was leaning against the bathroom doorframe, holding the toothbrush in one hand and resting the other on her hip. Her bath towel was wrapped loosely, exposing a large expanse of her shoulders and neck.
"What do you think?"
Su Yuyan took the toothbrush out of her mouth and wiped the foam from the corner of her lips with the back of her hand.
"That monkey is quite like you."
"How so?"
"Always jumping around, causing trouble everywhere." Su Yuyan turned and walked back into the bathroom to continue brushing, her voice half-drowned out by the water.
Jiang Fan paused, stunned.
Was he? You have to remember, the monkey froze the Seven Fairies, only to run off and eat peaches.
That didn't sound like him at all.
Jiang Fan got out of bed and picked up his shirt from the floor.
After putting it on, he realized it was ruined—three buttons were missing. He rummaged through Su Yuyan's wardrobe.
"Do you have any clothes here that I can wear?"
"The second drawer on the right."
Jiang Fan pulled it open.
Inside, several men's shirts and T-shirts were neatly folded, with underwear and socks arranged in categories beside them.
He glanced at this drawer that had been specifically cleared out for his things.
He said nothing, just grabbed a black shirt and put it on.
When Su Yuyan came out of the bathroom, her face was clean, and her hair was casually clipped behind her head.
She had changed into a loose, long white T-shirt, the hem reaching above her knees, making it impossible to tell if she was wearing anything underneath.
"Are you hungry? I'll have someone send food up; eat before you go."
"Sure."
Su Yuyan picked up her phone to order takeout, walked to the kitchen, poured two glasses of water, and handed one to Jiang Fan.
The two of them sat on the sofa waiting for breakfast.
Su Yuyan tucked her legs onto the sofa, curling her toes, and looked at him sideways.
"Jiang Fan. When does your movie wrap up filming?"
"According to Director Ning Yuan's schedule, about another month and a half. With editing and post-production, there shouldn't be a problem with a Spring Festival release."
Su Yuyan nodded.
"Mm, then I need to start planning some of the promotions on my end."
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Su Yuyan got up to open the door, brought back two portions of breakfast, and the two ate at the coffee table.
Su Yuyan stirred her porridge with a spoon.
"I have one more thing to tell you."
"Go ahead."
"The MV for 'Sigh' is shooting next week, and the director sent over a concept draft. They want me to dance a segment."
"What kind of dance?"
"A traditional-style dance." Su Yuyan took a sip of porridge.
Jiang Fan took a bite of a steamed bun, chewing while he thought.
"That segment you danced the other night was quite good."
Su Yuyan's spoon paused.
That night?
She recalled—she had indeed danced a segment in front of the sofa...
But that was for his eyes only, with half her clothes off—how could that be put into an MV?
"You're crazy."
"I don't mean copy it exactly." Jiang Fan wiped his hands. "Make it darker. Dim the lights, use close-up shots. Don't film the big scenes; just film parts of your body. Fingers, shoulder lines, ankles. Let the audience fill in the rest of the picture themselves."
Su Yuyan didn't speak, lowering her head to take a few mouthfuls of porridge.
After a dozen seconds.
"When you're done with work tonight, give me some guidance."
"Sure."
Su Yuyan put down her bowl and wiped her mouth with a tissue.
"Also, the MV is missing a male lead. To sing a duet with me. Spare a day to come over."
Jiang Fan thought about it.
In his past life, the duet version of this song was indeed the one that spread the most.
Plus, with his current popularity, once the duet came out, the buzz would directly double.
"No problem."
Su Yuyan smiled, her eyes curving, and set the bowl down.
"Then it's settled."
Jiang Fan stuffed the last bite of the bun into his mouth and stood up.
"I'm heading out. If I don't hand in the manuscript to Song Siyi soon, she really might post my childhood photos on Weibo."
"What photos?"
"Ahem, not important."
Su Yuyan tilted her head to look at him, just about to press for details.
Jiang Fan had already grabbed his jacket and was walking toward the door. When he reached the entrance, he paused and turned back.
"Oh, right."
"Hm?"
"That drawer—" He glanced in the direction of the bedroom. "Thanks."
Su Yuyan's expression froze for a moment.
She lowered her head and picked up the glass of water on the table to take a sip.
"Get lost."
Jiang Fan opened the door and went out.
Su Yuyan sat on the sofa, listening to the sound of the elevator door closing.
After a long while, she put the glass down and walked barefoot back to the bedroom.
She pulled open the second drawer on the right side of the wardrobe.
A black shirt was missing from inside, while the remaining ones were still neatly stacked there.
Su Yuyan stood there watching for a few seconds, then rearranged the clothes inside.
