214: Chapter 213 Even you, a monk, don't have much self-control!

The concert ended very late.

Backstage at the Rongcheng Stadium, Xu Qingya didn't even remove her makeup; she just threw on a hoodie, put on a mask, and headed out.

Her assistant, Yang Lele, followed behind, pulling the suitcase and panting for breath.

"Sister Ya, are you really not going to the celebration banquet?"

"Not going. Book the earliest flight back to Shanghai."

Su Yuyan had already officially announced that she had secured the role of the White Bone Demon, and Xu Qingya's sense of crisis was at an all-time high.

She couldn't rely solely on singing; she had to take a bite of the film and television pie.

If Su Yuyan could act, so could she.

The plane landed in Shanghai at 10:00 AM.

After getting off the plane, she took out her phone and sent a message to Jiang Fan.

"Come to my place tonight."

Then she told Yang Lele to drive to a high-end shopping mall in the city center and headed straight for a store specializing in custom film and television costumes.

Jiang Fan sat behind his desk, holding a red pen, marking red crosses on A4 paper.

On the paper was the preliminary list of actors sent by Times Media.

Li Cheng stood across from the desk, looking at the rows of red crosses, his scalp tingling.

Jiang Fan read out a name.

"Wang Kai. What has this person acted in?"

Li Cheng flipped through the materials.

"He's acted in two costume idol dramas and has quite a lot of fans."

"With this kind of poker face, he wants to play The Monkey King?" Jiang Fan flicked his wrist and drew a big red cross.

"Next one, Liu Shiyu. She's had plastic surgery, her chin is sharp enough to poke someone to death. She wants to play Chang'e?"

Another red cross.

Jiang Fan sneered. "What do these people think journey to the west is?"

On one page, twenty people, Jiang Fan rejected sixteen of them directly.

Li Cheng sighed.

"Brother Jiang, these people are all relatives of the old shareholders of Times Media. Su Yuyan couldn't suppress them, so she passed the list over just to go through the motions. If you reject them all, it will be hard for Su Yuyan to explain to the board."

Jiang Fan threw the pen on the table.

"If it's hard to explain, let them withdraw their capital." Jiang Fan leaned back in his chair.

Li Cheng put away the list. "Then it will be difficult for Su Yuyan, being caught in the middle."

Jiang Fan picked up his water cup and took a sip.

"She won't find it difficult. What she wants is for me to cross these names out. Notify Times Media to re-select candidates. Choose according to the role requirements; don't bring me garbage to fool me."

— —

8:00 PM, at Xu Qingya's villa.

Jiang Fan entered the door using the passcode.

Xu Qingya had just finished showering, her hair was half-dry, and she was sitting on the sofa in a bathrobe.

"You're fast. Why not rest for a few more days?" Jiang Fan closed the door and changed his shoes.

Xu Qingya threw the towel she was using to dry her hair to the side.

"You said to come back for a screen test, how could I not be fast?"

She patted the spot beside her. "Come sit."

Jiang Fan walked over and sat down.

Xu Qingya turned to the side. "I know Su Yuyan got the role of the White Bone Demon. I want to play the Queen of the Daughter Kingdom."

Jiang Fan didn't speak, just looked at her quietly.

Xu Qingya wasn't satisfied and reached out to push his shoulder.

"What, am I not worthy?"

Jiang Fan leaned against the sofa armrest.

"That is the most prominent female role in the show. You're a singer who has never acted before, can you pull it off?"

Xu Qingya stared at him for a few seconds.

She stood up, walked to the suitcase, knelt down, and fiddled with the combination lock.

With a click, the suitcase opened.

She took out a paper bag from inside and handed it to Jiang Fan.

"You change into this first. Don't come in until I call you."

Xu Qingya turned and went into the bedroom, closing the door.

Jiang Fan opened the paper bag and took out the contents.

It was a red kasaya with gold threads, and a set of brownish-yellow monk's robes.

Jiang Fan laughed; this woman was well-prepared for the role.

He took off his jacket, put on the monk's robes, and draped the kasaya over his body; the size was just right.

About ten minutes passed.

"Come in, Royal Brother," Xu Qingya's voice came from the bedroom.

Jiang Fan pushed open the door.

The bedroom lights were off; only two red aromatherapy candles were lit on the bedside table.

Xu Qingya stood in front of the candles, wearing a bright yellow ancient-style long dress.

The material was extremely thin, faintly revealing the scenery inside.

She wore a golden hair crown on her head, and a red floral design was stuck in the middle of her forehead.

She was barefoot on the carpet, holding a round fan in her hand, half-covering her face.

Jiang Fan stood there with the kasaya draped over him, watching her.

Xu Qingya slowly moved the fan away, revealing a perfect face.

The corners of her eyes were elongated, carrying a seductive charm, and her chin was lifted, carrying the posture of someone in a high position.

"Royal Brother. How does my Womens Kingdom compare to your Great Tang?"

Jiang Fan closed his eyes and put his hands together.

"Your Majesty, the Buddha's heart is empty of all desires. This poor monk has severed all worldly thoughts and has no fate to enjoy this earthly wealth. Amitabha."

Xu Qingya took two steps forward, her skirt dragging on the carpet, making a slight friction sound.

She walked up to Jiang Fan, the fan in her hand gently tapping on Jiang Fan's chest, sliding down along the edge of the kasaya.

"You say you are empty of all desires, yet you keep your eyes tightly closed. If you opened your eyes to look at me, I don't believe your eyes would be empty."

Jiang Fan remained unmoved. "Your Majesty, please show some self-respect."

Xu Qingya chuckled, threw the fan on the sofa, and placed her hands on Jiang Fan's shoulders.

"I refuse to show self-respect." She stood on tiptoes and leaned into Jiang Fan's ear, her breath hitting his neck.

"Brother, do you really not like me? Tonight is a rare evening, why don't you just agree to me."

She reached out to untie the kasaya on Jiang Fan.

Jiang Fan pressed her hand. "Your Majesty, let's just stick to the acting, don't use your hands."

Xu Qingya looked up and glared at him. "Are you acting addicted?"

She flipped her wrist, broke free from Jiang Fan's hand, and reached directly inside the collar of the kasaya.

Her nails scratched the muscles on Jiang Fan's chest.

Jiang Fan gasped.

Xu Qingya laughed triumphantly. "Even a monk is ticklish?"

Xu Qingya wrapped her arms around Jiang Fan's waist, pressing her face against his chest.

"Royal Brother, stay. What's so good about the Great Tang, what's so good about reading scriptures."

She recited the lines, but her hands were restless, sliding down along Jiang Fan's lower back.

Jiang Fan grabbed her wrists and pulled her a little further away.

"Your Majesty, you memorized the lines well. But this action, it's not in the script."

Xu Qingya looked up at him.

"I am the Queen, I can add whatever action I want."

She gave a hard tug, and the ties of the kasaya came undone.

The red fabric slid off halfway, hanging on Jiang Fan's shoulder.

Jiang Fan looked at her; the bright yellow dress was really very thin.

The light from the candles shone over, and he could see the silhouette inside; she was actually wearing nothing underneath.

Facing this kind of situation, Jiang Fan couldn't keep up the Tang Monk act for long.

But he didn't intend to just go along with her. The initiative had to be in his own hands.

Jiang Fan put his hands together and closed his eyes. "Amitabha..."

Xu Qingya was stunned. This man was really chanting scriptures?

She gritted her teeth and went behind Jiang Fan. She hugged him from behind. Her body pressed against him.

"Chant then. I want to see how long you can chant."

Xu Qingya's chin rested on Jiang Fan's shoulder.

Her fingers probed downwards along the yellow monk's robe, sensing the changes in Jiang Fan's body.

"Hehe, you monk, your concentration isn't that great either."

Jiang Fan opened his eyes; he couldn't keep up the act anymore.

He turned around, grabbed Xu Qingya's wrists, and gave a hard pull.

Xu Qingya gasped in surprise, was scooped up by Jiang Fan, carried to the bed, and thrown onto it.

Xu Qingya bounced on the mattress, her hair scattered, the golden hair crown tilted to one side.

She propped herself up on the mattress and looked at Jiang Fan.

"Hmph, not chanting anymore?"

Jiang Fan ripped off the kasaya on him and threw it on the floor.

"The Buddha said, if I don't go to hell, who will go to hell."

Xu Qingya wrapped her arms around Jiang Fan's neck, Jiang Fan's hands slid up along her legs, and the bright yellow long dress was pushed up to her waist.

Xu Qingya bit her lower lip, her breathing completely disordered.

She bought this outfit today just for this moment.

The red candlelight flickered back and forth.

Xu Qingya's voice was intermittent.

"Jiang Fan... the role... mine..."

Jiang Fan paused for a moment. "Still thinking about the role at a time like this?"

"Su Yuyan... can act... I can too..." Xu Qingya was very stubborn.

Jiang Fan chuckled.

"Fine. You acted very well, this role is yours."
