92: Chapter 92 If you keep doing this, I'll bite you to death.

6:40 PM.

Still that same private suite by the Bund.

Today's dinner was ordered by Su Yuyan—steamed eggs with black truffle, a steamed sea bass, a few stir-fried seasonal vegetables, and a pot of turtle soup that had been simmering for who knew how long.

Jiang Fan sat at the dining table and glanced at the spread.

It was much more subtle than the bullwhip feast from last time.

Su Yuyan was wearing a silk loungewear set that hung loosely on her frame, the neckline cut excessively low, exposing her collarbones and shoulder lines entirely.

Her hair was let down, and most of her makeup had been removed, leaving only the sequin on the tear mole at the corner of her eye.

Two glasses of red wine were set on the table.

They chatted as they ate, the conversation ranging from the performance data of "perfume is poisonous" to the short-video promotional results of "the great wind blows".

Su Yuyan's tone was normal when she spoke, showing no signs of anything unusual.

But Jiang Fan noticed that from the moment she sat down, she hadn't mentioned the words "fleet of time" even once.

That was very abnormal.

When they had nearly finished eating, Su Yuyan picked up her wine glass and stared at Jiang Fan.

There was silence for about ten seconds.

"Jiang Fan."

"Hmm."

"Do you think I have a really good temper?"

Jiang Fan picked up his wine glass and took a sip, not daring to respond.

"A three-million-yuan project, I made the connections, I found the director, I provided the resources. And you—you just went ahead, wrote the song, finished the recording, and the singer turns out to be Xu Qingya?"

Her speaking pace was slow, each word enunciated clearly.

"You didn't even give me a heads-up."

Jiang Fan set down his wine glass.

"Would you have agreed if I had?"

Su Yuyan choked on her words.

"That's not the point."

"Then what is the point?"

Su Yuyan glared at him.

"The point is that you made me listen to Xu Qingya's voice for three minutes and fifty-eight seconds in front of Director Lu Chuan, and I had to smile and say 'no problem.' Do you know how I felt at that moment?"

Jiang Fan thought for a moment.

"Probably pretty uncomfortable?"

"At least you know."

"But you also know that she is a better fit for this song than you are."

Su Yuyan opened her mouth, then closed it again.

Xu Qingya's voice naturally possessed a clean, youthful quality that made her perfect for campus-themed songs.

If Su Yuyan were to sing it, her underlying sensuality would skew the entire mood of the song.

She understood this better than anyone.

But knowing was one thing.

"Couldn't you have told me in advance? Even just sending a message—'Boss Su, I've chosen Xu Qingya for the theme song, please don't mind'—is that so hard?"

Jiang Fan looked at her.

"Would you not have minded if I had told you?"

Su Yuyan: "..."

"You'd be angry whether I told you early or late, so it's better to wait until it's a done deal. That way, by the time you're done being angry, the matter is already settled. It saves a step."

Su Yuyan set her wine glass down on the table with some force.

The wine sloshed, nearly spilling out.

"For 'perfume is poisonous', I helped you swap for Shen Nian's spot on the show. For the movie theme song, I made the connections, and in the end, Xu Qingya got all the benefits."

She counted on her fingers.

"Tell me, how are you going to repay me?"

Jiang Fan looked at Su Yuyan and thought for a moment.

"Shall I write you another one?"

Su Yuyan snorted.

"Is one enough?"

"Then two?"

"Do you think I'm at a wet market?"

Jiang Fan chuckled.

He stood up, walked over to Su Yuyan, leaned down, and braced one hand on the edge of the dining table.

"Then how does Boss Su want to be repaid?"

Su Yuyan tilted her head to look at him, the distance between them very close.

The sequin on her tear mole caught the light, refracting a tiny sparkle.

She reached out, grabbed Jiang Fan's collar, and pulled him down.

"You can settle tonight's interest first before we talk about anything else."

As Jiang Fan was pulled down, his lips landed right on the side of her neck.

Su Yuyan's body tensed, then immediately softened.

"Director Lu Chuan even praised me today for my magnanimity, saying I took the initiative to push Xu Qingya into my own project."

Su Yuyan's voice came from beside his ear, carrying a hint of gnashing teeth.

"When I was smiling and saying 'no problem,' do you know how much I wanted to strangle you?"

Jiang Fan's hand clasped her waist, lifting her up from the chair.

"So, here is your chance to vent."

As she was lifted into his arms, Su Yuyan's legs wrapped around him naturally, the hem of her loungewear sliding up to the tops of her thighs.

"Vent?"

She wrapped her arms around his neck, her lips brushing against his earlobe.

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure."

Su Yuyan bit down directly on his shoulder.

It wasn't a light bite.

Jiang Fan hissed, but his footsteps didn't falter as he headed straight for the bedroom.

"That hurts."

"Serves you right."

Su Yuyan's silk loungewear couldn't stay on on the way from the living room to the bedroom; one strap had slid down to her elbow, and the other had been pulled open by Jiang Fan.

By the time she was placed on the bed, she was left wearing only a piece of black lace.

Su Yuyan reached out to unbutton his shirt, but when she got to the third button, she completely lost patience and just ripped it open to both sides.

"My shirt—"

"You still have the nerve to feel bad about the shirt?"

Su Yuyan was indeed carrying anger tonight.

This frustration had been bottled up since the moment she heard Xu Qingya's voice in the conference room that afternoon, simmering through the entire afternoon and dinner, and now it was all being vented.

Her fingernails left several red marks on Jiang Fan's back.

She was astride Jiang Fan, her hair falling down to cover half her face, looking down at him while panting.

"Two songs... can only..."

Her voice was intermittent, every word trembling.

"Can only... count as... interest..."

Jiang Fan gripped her waist, his thumbs pressing into the two shallow dimples of her lower back.

"Two is not enough."

"Then I'll add more—ah..."

Jiang Fan sat up abruptly, and Su Yuyan was flipped over, her back pressed into the mattress.

The second half of her sentence was cut off just like that.

The night deepened.

Su Yuyan lay on the bed, her face buried in the pillow, her back rising and falling with her breathing.

Jiang Fan's palm slid from her shoulder blades all the way down to her waist, then slid back up.

"Is your anger gone yet?"

Su Yuyan turned her head from the pillow, revealing half her face.

The corners of her eyes were flushed, and the sequin on her tear mole had been rubbed off at some point.

"It's not gone."

"Then shall we continue?"

Su Yuyan slapped his arm.

"Are you even human?"

Jiang Fan chuckled, flipped her over, and pulled her into his arms.

Su Yuyan didn't struggle, leaning against him as she followed the movement, her face pressed against his chest.

Her breathing hadn't fully returned to normal yet, and she was covered in a thin layer of sweat, the base notes of her rose perfume mingling with her body heat.

"Next time you act without telling me first..."

"And what then?"

Su Yuyan raised her hand and gave him a pinch down below.

"I'll bite you to death."

"Fine."

"I'm serious."

"Bite away."

Jiang Fan held her head and pressed it down.

"Ah—what are you doing? You bastard—mm..."
