212: Chapter 211 Empress Su's Hanfu
Su Yuyan calculated that the time was about right and pushed open the meeting room door again.
Several shareholders were still whispering to each other; seeing her enter, their voices ceased.
"Have you finished discussing?" Su Yuyan pulled out a chair, sat down, and rested her hands on the tabletop.
The bespectacled shareholder looked up, his fingers tapping on the report in front of him.
"President Su, the board still feels the risk is too high. The profit-sharing must be renegotiated. Times Media cannot risk real money to play a game with you that has no chance of winning."
"Enough." Su Yuyan interrupted him, directly gathering the documents on the table and holding them in her hand.
"If you don't agree, then forget it. I'll reject Jiang Fan directly. As for this script and the copyright, other film and television companies would likely be very happy to take over. Jiang Fan is only willing to cooperate with us because of me."
She turned and walked out the door, her steps neither fast nor slow, her high heels clicking rhythmically against the marble floor.
Su Yuyan appeared calm on the surface, but inwardly she was calculating the confidence Jiang Fan had given her.
"President Su, wait." The female executive spoke up.
Su Yuyan stopped but did not turn around.
Behind her came the sound of chairs shifting, and several shareholders exchanged glances.
The female executive spoke: "The proposal is approved. We'll do as you say and sign the valuation adjustment mechanism agreement."
"But we want to add a condition," the female executive continued. "If it doesn't reach 1.5 billion, the shares under your name will be mortgaged to the company at 80% of the current market price."
Su Yuyan turned around to look at her.
"Fine. Have the legal department draft the contract this afternoon, and we'll sign it tomorrow morning."
She was well aware of the petty schemes these people were hatching; they simply wanted to take advantage of her if she failed and snatch up her shares at a low price.
But Su Yuyan was not afraid, because she was not betting on luck, but on Jiang Fan.

Qitian Culture meeting room.
Song Siyi sat on the left side of the conference table, facing the negotiation team from Huaxin Publishing House.
The negotiation had been a tug-of-war for an hour.
"President Song, 50% is the highest percentage our group has ever offered." President Chen of Huaxin leaned back in his chair, his hands crossed.
"Our Huaxin has state-owned backing and thirty years of channel accumulation. We have tens of thousands of offline sales terminals, covering everything from first-tier cities to county-level cities. Leave the books to us, and all you have to do is collect the money."
Song Siyi turned a page of the materials in her hand.
"President Chen, our conditions remain unchanged. A 60-40 split. We take 60%."
She remembered what Jiang Fan had told her before—the initiative is in your hands; you don't need to save face for anyone.
"President Chen, with the current popularity of 'journey to the west', it would be a hot item in any bookstore. You don't need to do any marketing; once the books are on the shelves, they will sell. Qitian Culture doesn't lack channels; we have our own printing plant, and our online e-commerce is already running smoothly. We are only coming to you to save time on distribution."
Song Siyi paused for a moment.
"President Chen, if you feel that 40% is too little, let's end the discussion here for today."
The meeting room fell silent.
President Chen stared at Song Siyi, spinning the pen in his hand twice.
He had originally thought she was a newcomer to the industry and could be easily pressured into submission, but now it seemed that was impossible.
He changed his sitting posture and tapped his fingers on the table twice.
"A 60-40 split is acceptable. But if there are any derivatives of 'journey to the west' later on, such as picture books, audiobooks, or merchandise, Huaxin must have the right of first refusal."
"Huaxin will have priority under the same offer. If someone else offers a higher price, the priority is void."
President Chen reached out his hand: "President Song, happy to cooperate."
Song Siyi shook it and quickly let go.
After the Huaxin people left, Song Siyi leaned back in her chair and let out a long breath.
Her palms were full of sweat.
She took out her phone and sent a message to Jiang Fan.
"Jiang Fan, the contract with Huaxin has been negotiated. 60-40."
Jiang Fan replied in a second.
"Well done."

At 7:30 in the evening, Jiang Fan took a taxi to Su Yuyan's apartment.
The elevator went up to the top floor, he entered the password, and pushed the door open.
The main lights in the living room were not on; several floor lamps were casting an ambient glow.
Su Yuyan was standing next to the sofa.
Jiang Fan took one look and his footsteps immediately stopped.
She was wearing a set of Hanfu, barefoot on the wooden floor, with her newly done nail polish on her toes sparkling.
The upper part was a white silk tube top, with a layer of pink transparent gauze draped over it.
Below was a long white skirt with a high slit on the side, running all the way from the ankle to the waist.
Her hair was let down, hanging on both sides of her shoulders.
Jiang Fan walked over to the sofa and sat down, resting one arm on the armrest.
He watched quietly to see what tricks Su Yuyan was up to.
Su Yuyan didn't speak, walking barefoot to the open space in the middle of the living room.
She picked up the remote control from the coffee table and pressed it.
The prelude to the song "Itch" came from the speakers.
"She is a leisurely streak of sunset—"
"How I wish, how I wish someone knew how to appreciate—"
Su Yuyan's body began to move.
She raised her arms, her wrists turned, and her waist swayed with the melody. When she turned around, the slit on the side of her skirt opened up, exposing her entire thigh to the light, and then closed on the next beat.
She spun around, her hair flying out and then falling back down, clinging to her bare shoulders.
The chorus began.
"Come on, be happy, there's plenty of time anyway—"
"Come on, love, there's plenty of folly anyway—"
"Come on, wander, there are plenty of directions anyway—"
"Come on, be pretentious, there's plenty of scenery anyway—"
Her steps followed the beat as she walked toward Jiang Fan, reaching out to untie the belt at her waist.
The pink gauze coat slipped from her shoulders, and she tossed it onto Jiang Fan.
Jiang Fan picked it up and brought it to his nose.
It was the unique scent of Su Yuyan.
Su Yuyan lifted her right foot, her toes gently tapping on Jiang Fan's chin.
Jiang Fan reached out, his fingers tracing up along her foot.
Su Yuyan's leg trembled, and she tried to pull her foot back.
Jiang Fan stood up, grabbed her lower back with one hand, and turned her around completely.
"Hold onto the sofa."
Su Yuyan rested her hands on the back of the sofa, her waist naturally arching.
The slit of the white long skirt was facing Jiang Fan, from ankle to waist, nothing could block the view.
Jiang Fan's hand reached in through the slit, sliding up along the outside of her thigh until his fingertips touched a thin strap, which he tugged and pulled right off, throwing it onto the carpet.
The white tube top was pulled down to her waist by Jiang Fan.
"Can't you be a little gentler?" Su Yuyan looked back and glared at him.
"You danced like that just now, and you still want me to be gentle?"
The song in the speakers was still playing on loop.
Su Yuyan bit her lower lip, her fingers gripping the edge of the sofa back tightly.
"Did you sign the valuation adjustment mechanism agreement?" Jiang Fan asked.
"Signed..." Su Yuyan's voice was intermittent, half-covered by the music.
"Well done."
"1.5 billion... the excess part will be converted into shares for me. They also added a mortgage clause... if it doesn't reach the target, my shares will be mortgaged to the company at an 80% discount."
Su Yuyan turned her head, her long hair spilling over the side of her face.
"Are you sure it can reach 1.5 billion? If it doesn't, I'll have to pack up and leave. Will you support me then?"
"With me here, you won't be going anywhere. 1.5 billion is just the minimum guarantee. They can't even imagine the true potential of this drama."
Su Yuyan didn't speak again.
She let out a muffled groan, her body leaning forward, her whole person lying prone on the back of the sofa.
The white long skirt was pushed up, bunched at her waist. Her toes curled on the floor, tightening and relaxing with Jiang Fan's rhythm.
