3: Chapter 3: On the first day of work, the slacking-off employee was told to make his own funeral arrangements. What bad luck!
Just as Xia Ning was about to scold him.
Qin Xun stopped and pointed at the surveillance camera on the ceiling.
"Careful, walls have ears. There's no surveillance here."
Xia Ning: "..."
She looked up at the camera and asked.
"Can't it see us from this spot?"
Qin Xun wore an inscrutable smile.
"On the second day after I joined the company, I took the opportunity of helping the cleaning lady clear spider webs to secretly adjust the camera's position."
He traced an imaginary line beside him.
"From here on, it's a surveillance blind spot."
"It's my territory!"
"I'll lend it to you for today!"
He looked at Xia Ning and smiled.
"Now you can eat without a care!"
Xia Ning looked at Qin Xun and was silent for a while, then suddenly smiled lightly, but her whole demeanor seemed much colder.
She finished eating two chocolates, and her complexion looked much better.
But then she saw Qin Xun open his phone, log into a game, and start dominating.
With a smile on her face, she said softly.
"You're quite skilled!"
Qin Xun, while operating his phone, spared a glance at her.
"After I finish this round, should I carry you to rank up?"
Xia Ning: "..."
"Thanks, I don't know how."
Qin Xun: "Then you watch out for people for me, and I'll watch for you next time."
Xia Ning was silent for a while.
"...Alright!"
She sat at the computer desk, no longer interested in watching black pigs run and fight, and secretly glanced at Qin Xun, who kept getting triple kills, quad kills, and even pentakills.
Her expression grew increasingly grim.
An hour passed.
When Qin Xun won another game.
Xia Ning finally couldn't help but ask: "Don't you feel guilty for slacking off like this?"
Qin Xun turned to look at Xia Ning, thinking about how she was openly watching videos and slacking off on her first day of work, and found it somewhat funny.
"How can such words come out of your mouth?"
He put down his phone and snorted coldly.
"This company pays me a monthly salary of 2,000, and doesn't even cover food or housing."
"Why doesn't this damn boss feel any guilt?"
"In just half a month, I've already written 18 PPTs!"
"If it weren't for getting an internship certificate to graduate smoothly, would I stay here and let him exploit me?"
Hearing "damn boss," Xia Ning's expression darkened, but suddenly hearing "18 PPTs," she couldn't help but be surprised.
18 PPTs? Half a month?
Excluding the 4 days off, there are only 11 days left.
This guy slacks off while at work; it's absolutely impossible to get him to work overtime on his days off!
Then he has to write one to two per day on average?
She thought of Cheng Wan's smug expression when she brought her to Qin Xun; she must view Qin Xun as a model employee, so the PPTs he writes must be qualified.
She knew that Cheng Wan was someone who liked to nitpick details.
To put it bluntly, she is fastidious. A pain in the ass!
Ordinary PPTs can't catch her eye!
Is Qin Xun's skill in writing PPTs really that high?
...
Qin Xun looked at the silent Xia Ning.
"You don't believe me?"
Xia Ning shook her head; she really thought he was bragging.
No one can complete the PPTs Cheng Wan requires with both quality and quantity while slacking off all day.
Qin Xun emphasized his tone.
"This damn boss really only pays me 2,000!"
Xia Ning: "???"
The two of them were not talking about the same thing at all.
Huh? How many times has this kid called me a damn boss?
What kind of character is this?
She looked at the indignant Qin Xun and asked.
"If you are so good at writing PPTs, why don't you find an online shop that specializes in PPTs?"
"A PPT can sell for four or five hundred, why stay in this... crappy company!"
Qin Xun was amused and felt like he had met a kindred spirit.
"You think this company is crappy too!"
Xia Ning: "..."
In her whole life, she hasn't been speechless as many times as she has been today.
Qin Xun picked up the thermos on the table, opened the lid, and took a slow sip of water like an old cadre.
"It's not that I don't want to change jobs, but there are risks."
"The first company I interned at, on the seventh day of me working seriously, had a big fire. The boss had to bear criminal responsibility and went inside!"
"The second company, on the seventh day of me working even more seriously, the boss died in a car accident."
"No one was paying salaries, so I had to slip away."
"This is the third company I've interned at; I've already been here for 15 days."
"In 15 more days, Sister Cheng will stamp my internship certificate."
"Out of three companies, only this one survived the first seven days; this boss has a tough life!"
Xia Ning stared at Qin Xun, dumbfounded.
Thinking back to half a month ago, when she was in the USA on a wilderness adventure with her best friend and others, they encountered a pack of wolves.
Although there were no casualties in the end, they were so scared that they had to rest in the hospital for a few days.
This delayed her return to the country, and she missed the company's opening.
Could it be... that this kid cursed it?!
Xia Ning looked at Qin Xun and revealed an intriguing smile.
"Maybe... the boss of this company doesn't have such a tough life after all."
Qin Xun raised an eyebrow and turned to look at her.
"Hey! You can't say that! We can't engage in feudal superstitions!"
"I pray every day that the company boss lives a long life!"
"That's my internship certificate."
He was silent for a moment, looking at Xia Ning's dazzlingly beautiful face, lowered his voice, and explained mysteriously.
"Do you know?"
"The reason this company's boss is still alive and hasn't had an accident is all because..."
Seeing his expression, Xia Ning was infected by the mysterious atmosphere, leaned in a bit, and asked in a low voice.
"Because of what?"
Qin Xun looked left and right, saw that there was no one around, and then said with a smile.
"That's all because I've been working so hard to slack off these days."
"I suspect that the more seriously I work, the more the boss exploits me."
"The more they exploit me, the greater the retribution they suffer."
After a pause, he said with a righteous look on his face.
"So, it's not that I want to slack off."
"It's that if work doesn't let me slack off, the boss of this company would have to prepare for his funeral."
"This damn guy would definitely die a miserable death."
Xia Ning: "???"
"Then the boss of this company should... thank you for your... kindness?"
Qin Xun waved his hand lightly and said indifferently.
"I am often moved by my own kindness."
Xia Ning: "..."
She watched Qin Xun quietly for a while, then suddenly smiled faintly, and sentenced him to death in her heart.
She couldn't be bothered to deal with him anymore, turned around and sat at the computer, logged into her email, and opened another email.
She downloaded a video and played it.
In the video, a yellow lemon fell into ice water and instantly shattered into several pieces.
The lemon slices mixed with ice water, becoming a cool summer drink.
This was a lemonade advertisement.
She was studying.
At this moment, Qin Xun's voice sounded in her ear.
"Watch it without a care! I'll keep watch for you!"
Xia Ning: "..."
"Thanks!"
Qin Xun: "No problem! We're all on the same side!"
He watched Xia Ning watching the video and felt happy.
Compared to her, how could he be considered a slacking master?
On his first day, he worked seriously for half a day and only started slacking off in the afternoon, and the whole process was trembling and cautious.
Look at this girl; the first thing she did at work was slack off. She really treats the company like her own home!
Slacking off, slacking off... The morning passed quickly.
Slacking off, slacking off... The afternoon passed quickly too.
In the blink of an eye, it was 6 PM!
The thirty or so people in the office packed up and left one after another.
Five or six minutes later, most people were gone.
Xia Ning closed her email, turned to look at Qin Xun, and was a bit surprised to see him still watching anime on his phone.
"Aren't you getting off work?"
Suddenly, she realized.
"You must be trying to leech off the company's Wi-Fi again?"
Qin Xun turned off his phone and glanced at Xia Ning indifferently.
"Perspective!" "Open your perspective!"
He slowly placed his hands on the keyboard, all expression vanished from his face, his eyebrows arched slightly, and he appeared extremely serious.
"You have to slack off, but you also have to do the work."
"Otherwise, this slacking won't last long."
Xia Ning looked at his mysterious act, feeling a bit confused.
Suddenly! Qin Xun's expression tightened.
He stared at the computer screen without blinking, his fingers typing rapidly on the keyboard, leaving afterimages.
Clack clack clack! Clack clack clack clack! It sounded like... firecrackers!
Xia Ning was so shocked that her mouth fell open.
