113: Chapter 113 Encounter on the Island
The sunlight was scorching.
Chen Xiaolin leaned against the railing of the second deck, holding the high-powered binoculars Qi Yun had redeemed from the Points Store, scanning the sea surface out of boredom.
"Sigh, so boring..." She muttered, when a blurry black dot suddenly caught the edge of her vision.
She hurriedly adjusted the focus and looked closely.
It was an island! Visually estimating, it was about the size of ten standard soccer fields.
"Island spotted!" Chen Xiaolin immediately got excited and shouted down to the deck below.
But the next second, her cheer got stuck in her throat.
Because in the field of view of the binoculars, on the sea surface on the other side of the island, another black dot was rapidly approaching—it was also a ship! Furthermore, that ship was reflecting a distinct metallic sheen under the sunlight!
Being able to build a steel ship at this stage meant that the strength of that Tribe definitely could not be underestimated!
"Qi Yun! We have a situation!" Chen Xiaolin put down the binoculars, turned around, and ran toward the upper deck.
Qi Yun's "Captain's Cabin," which also served as his bedroom, was located on the third deck of the cruise ship, offering the best view and the most quiet.
Chen Xiaolin ran up the stairs, and just as she approached the wooden door, she heard some unusual sounds coming from inside.
Chen Xiaolin paused her steps, then pursed her lips.
She was already a bit accustomed to this kind of sound; after all, their Tribe Leader was just so "capable."
She didn't hesitate much, reached out directly, and with a "bang," pushed open the door that wasn't locked.
"Qi Yun! Found an island, but..."
Inside the room, the battle was in full swing.
Shu Qianxue sat slumped in a chair nearby, drenched in sweat, her face flushed, catching her breath in small gasps.
Qi Yun was facing away from the door, playing a game.
Li's face, usually cold and stunningly beautiful, was now covered in an unnatural flush, yet there was not a hint of awkwardness.
Hearing the sound of the door opening and Chen Xiaolin's voice, she turned her head somewhat awkwardly: "Xiao Lin, I still hope to have some privacy."
But Qi Yun did not stop playing the game.
Shu Qianxue let out a "pfft" laugh, watching Chen Xiaolin with great interest.
Chen Xiaolin rolled her eyes and said in a hurried tone: "Privacy, my foot! Found a fairly large island, but there's a steel ship heading there too!"
"A steel ship?" Hearing this, Qi Yun's expression immediately turned serious.
This was the first time Yu Jie had encountered a ship made of steel; the strength of the other side was likely very strong.
"I will adjust the ship's speed; you go and monitor the movements of that ship." Qi Yun ordered decisively.
"Understood!" Chen Xiaolin replied and turned to run out.
"Don't stop." Li said weakly.
...
The cruise ship's engines roared at full power, and the ship's speed increased abruptly.
The 01 Tribe arrived one step ahead at a relatively flat beach on the southeast side of the island.
"Land!" Qi Yun took Bai Yu and the others off the ship.
Half the people were left behind to guard the ship.
"Bai Yu, how much longer until that ship arrives?" Qi Yun looked at Bai Yu beside him.
Bai Yu said: "Based on their current speed and distance, they will arrive in about eight minutes."
"Eight minutes..." Qi Yun's gaze swept over the lush, vegetation-covered island in front of him and the small hill in the distance.
"We only have five minutes to scout. Once five minutes are up, no matter what you find, assemble at the small hill ahead immediately! Understood?"
The other side should have at least one Unique Class; Qi Yun did not want to take risks.
"Understood!" Everyone responded in unison.
"Disperse and search! Stay safe."
With a wave of Qi Yun's hand, everyone immediately split into several groups, mounted their Wolf Foals, and began the search.
After five minutes passed, apart from some daily supplies, there were no special discoveries.
Everyone had assembled, and the Wolf Foals carried them toward the areas that had not yet been searched.
"Qi Bao! Over there!" Shu Qianxue shouted excitedly.
Qi Yun looked in the direction Shu Qianxue was pointing; a silver box, about half a person's height and shimmering with a faint metallic luster, was sitting quietly on a flat rock.
On top of the box, a flag printed with a rabbit icon was stuck there!
"Found it!" Shu Qianxue's eyes lit up.
Qi Yun felt a surge of joy; this was clearly the most valuable "grand prize" on this island.
However, just as he had walked up to the treasure chest and was about to reach out and touch it—
"Buddy, you're pretty fast."
"Finders keepers? How about we split it?"
A man and a woman were the first to enter Qi Yun's field of vision, and ten grim-faced people followed behind them.
The man looked to be around twenty-one, with a tall stature and a handsome face, a gentle smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
The woman was slightly younger, probably in her early twenties, with delicate features and a slim figure.
The people following behind them also had sharp, fierce eyes; they were clearly not a ragtag group.
The handsome man's gaze swept over the people behind Qi Yun, lingering for a moment especially on the stunningly beautiful girls like Ye Xi, Su Mu, and Shu Qianxue, with a trace of imperceptible amazement flashing in his eyes before returning to normal.
"I am Li Tao, and this is Li Yue. May I ask what to call you, brother?"
"Qi Yun."
"So it is brother Qi Yun. This chest was discovered by both of our sides simultaneously; according to the rules, shouldn't we discuss how to split it?" Li Tao's smile remained unchanged, his gaze falling back onto that rabbit treasure chest.
He deliberately emphasized "simultaneously."
Qi Yun twitched the corners of his mouth: "What if I said I wanted to keep it all for myself?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the smile on Li Tao's face faded a bit, while Li Yue, who had been keeping a cold face beside him, let out a disdainful snort.
The next instant, two powerful, terrifying auras with distinct characteristics of a Unique Class erupted unreservedly from Li Tao and Li Yue!
The air seemed to solidify instantly.
Li Tao was certain in his heart.
After feeling these two auras of a Unique Class, this guy named Qi Yun in front of him, as long as he wasn't a fool, should understand that taking it by force was the worst strategy, and it was time to negotiate.
However, to his surprise, Qi Yun on the opposite side, after feeling these two powerful auras, did not change his expression in the slightest, not even his eyes fluctuated.
Qi Yun just waved his hand very casually.
"Xiao Yu, Xiao Qing, lift the chest."
The two responded and walked forward to lift the heavy metal chest.
The smile on Li Tao's face froze completely, and a trace of unbelievable astonishment flashed in his eyes.
A man couldn't help but step forward, anger erupting on his face.
"Brother Tao! They..."
Li Tao raised his hand abruptly, stopping his subordinate's impulsive action.
The astonishment on his face quickly receded, replaced once again by that gentle smile.
"Brother Qi Yun, I still prefer peace!" Li Tao laughed, as if the intimidation from just a moment ago had never happened.
"Since you arrived a step earlier, it's reasonable for you to want to keep it all; first come, first served. Let's just treat this as making a friend this time!"
The subordinate looked at Li Tao in surprise.
Actually... just gave up like that? And even took the initiative to show goodwill?
Li Tao certainly didn't want to give up, but...
Qi Yun took a deep look at Li Tao, didn't say a word, and led the group to retreat in the direction they came from, quickly disappearing into the dense forest.
Watching the direction in which the people of the 01 Tribe disappeared, the subordinate behind Li Tao who had wanted to rush out earlier couldn't help but say indignantly: "Brother Tao! Just let them leave like that? That chest..."
The smile on Li Tao's face disappeared, and he glanced at him coldly, "What do you know?"
He turned his head to look at Li Yue, who was still keeping a cold face beside him, his tone carrying a hint of helplessness and negotiation:
"Li Yue, I'll leave it to you."
Li Yue rolled her eyes, her tone extremely impatient: "What a hassle. Also, Li Tao, if you dare to speak to me in that commanding tone again, believe it or not, I'll kill you first? Fuck you."
She cursed without any politeness, but Li Tao just gave a bitter smile, clearly long accustomed to it.
