30: Chapter 30 ends abruptly.
Qi Yun suddenly grabbed Ke Yun's wrist as she was about to untie the leather straps of her animal-skin clothing.
His voice was stern, his gaze as sharp as a blade: "Teacher, I apologize. There is a situation. We will discuss this when I return."
Before his words had even faded, Qi Yun had already dashed toward the wooden cabin like an arrow released from a bow, leaving Ke Yun stunned in place.
She bit her lower lip gently, a hint of disappointment flashing in her eyes, but it was immediately replaced by worry—whatever could make Qi Yun this nervous was definitely no trivial matter.
"Combat squad, assemble!"
Qi Yun's roar was like a thunderclap; the girls who had been slumped on the ground resting instantly sprang up.
"Zombies have appeared in zones 4, 5, 6, and 7 simultaneously, five in each zone! Abandon the forest defense line and retreat to the wooden wall!"
His speech was extremely fast, every word carrying unquestionable authority: "Bai Yu, command the Crossbow Shooters. Xia Jin, lead the melee team. Execute immediately!"
"Yes!"
The relaxed atmosphere from just moments ago had vanished completely, replaced by a tense, murderous aura.
Twenty figures quickly gathered at the breach in the wooden wall, staring fixedly at the one-meter-wide gap.
"Wait for my signal. Shoot in turns starting from the left. Do not stop," Bai Yu's voice was chillingly calm.
Xia Jin had already led the melee team into a semi-encirclement formation facing the breach, her blood-red long blade glimmering coldly under the moonlight. Every girl's breathing became heavy—twenty zombies; this was on a completely different scale from the skirmish in the forest!
Qi Yun did not dare to be negligent and activated Space Perception to scout the zombies' movements.
"Distance to the wooden wall breach, 150 meters! Quantity confirmed, four waves, five per wave. Movement speed... normal zombie level!"
"100 meters!"
"50 meters!"
"10 meters!"
Having gone through the first battle against zombies in the forest, the girls were now much steadier.
When the first rotten arm reached out from the shadows of the breach, exposed under the light of the torches—
"Fire!"
Bai Yu's cool, clear voice rang out.
"Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!"
Amidst the whistling sound of crossbow bolts tearing through the air, the first zombie to break through the darkness was instantly pierced through the skull by three bolts! Foul black blood splattered onto the wooden wall. The second zombie stepped on its companion's corpse to reach out with its sharp claws, only to have its neck severed by Xia Jin's spinning blade!
"Wind direction is west-leaning! Adjust aim! Correct by three markings!" Bai Yu's voice remained without fluctuation.
The continuous barrage of crossbow fire prevented the zombies from breaking through the breach, and the occasional straggler was quickly executed by the melee team.
"The rate at which zombies are surging out from the breach is three per second, which is lower than the kill rate of the continuous crossbow fire," Bai Yu analyzed the battlefield situation calmly.
Qi Yun's Space Perception was running at full power when he suddenly shouted sharply:
"Attention! Five zombies have appeared, moving too fast! They are mutants!"
Upon hearing the word "mutants," the Crossbow Shooters were shocked—they had previously heard members of Bai Yu's squad mention those zombies that crawled on all fours and had abnormally fast crawling speeds.
At this moment, panic began to spread in the air.
Hearing Qi Yun's report, Bai Yu's brain raced.
Given the current strength of the crossbow squad, they lacked the ability to shoot down high-speed moving targets.
She looked at Qi Yun with a grave expression: "Qi Yun, how many seconds until the mutants pass through the breach?"
"5 seconds."
In a flash, Bai Yu made a judgment: "In 2 seconds, the hand crossbows will start indiscriminate suppressive fire on the breach. No need to aim, shorten the firing interval to the limit!"
Five black shadows broke through the curtain of rain like ghosts, rushing straight for the breach at an astonishing speed! Their limbs were twisted on the ground, their running posture was bizarrely strange, and they were so fast they left afterimages!
"Fire!"
"Boom—"
A dense barrage of crossbow bolts poured out like water, colliding with the mutants the instant they showed their heads! Three mutants were instantly riddled with holes like a sieve, but the other two, relying on terrifying speed and flexibility, twisted strangely amidst the hail of arrows and forcefully broke through the arrow curtain!
"You're courting death!"
A red light flared in Xia Jin's eyes, and her blood-red long blade turned into a whirlwind as she met the first mutant that pounced. The collision of blade and claw erupted with a piercing, shrill sound. The massive impact made her grunt, her full breasts beneath the animal-skin wrap heaving violently, and her feet plowed two deep furrows into the ground.
"Get lost!" Xia Jin shouted angrily. Her long blade traced a strange semi-arc, the tip flicking toward the mutant's jaw. The moment it leaned back to dodge, her long left leg whipped out, accurately kicking the back of its knee!
"Snap!"
Amidst the crisp sound of shattering bone, the mutant's figure stalled, and the blood blade swept a scarlet arc, cleanly and decisively severing its head!
On the other side, Shu Qianxue did not dodge or avoid the pounce of the other mutant! Her fists glowed with an eerie red light, and she shouted sharply, charging head-on to meet it!
"Bang!"
In the loud crash, the mutant's sharp claws left two bloodstains on her shoulder that were deep enough to see bone, but she used brute force to knock the creature staggering backward! The moment the monster lost its balance, Shu Qianxue endured the excruciating pain and pursued, leaping into the air with a fierce flying kick that shattered the hideous head into pieces!
Black blood and brains splattered all over her.
The battle ended within ten seconds.
Xia Jin's blood blade pointed diagonally at the ground, black and red filth dripping along the groove of the blade. She panted slightly, adjusting her breathing. One of her leather armor shoulder straps had snapped during the fierce confrontation, and now half of her full breast was almost breaking free from its restraints, heaving violently beneath the tattered fabric with her breaths.
She casually tucked the broken strap back into her neckline, but this inadvertent action made several of the melee girls blush deeply.
"What are you looking at?" Xia Jin raised an eyebrow, the fighting spirit in her blood-colored eyes not yet extinguished. "If you want this kind of combat power, then practice until you're dead!"
The girls hurriedly looked away, but couldn't help stealing glances with their peripheral vision at that robust body, which shimmered with a honey-colored luster under the moonlight—the firm abdominal muscles were clearly defined, and sweat flowed along the grooves, gleaming with an alluring sheen in the firelight.
Shu Qianxue's situation was even more provocative.
The mutant's death throes had torn away most of her clothing, so she simply ripped off the remaining fabric, revealing her beautifully contoured waist and abdomen, and half of her full breast.
The wound, deep enough to see bone, was healing at a speed visible to the naked eye after she used her Destroyer ability, the new, tender flesh forming an alluring contrast with her surrounding snow-white skin.
She noticed Qi Yun's gaze; instead of hiding, she puffed out her chest, letting the moonlight spill over that messy yet vibrant body: "Qi Bao, was I fierce enough this time?"
"Fierce." Qi Yun's voice was somewhat hoarse. He forced himself to look away, but his Adam's apple bobbed involuntarily.
The reason he hadn't intervened was because he wanted to give the girls a chance to train. Looking at these girls who were once delicate, now grown enough to hold their own, an indescribable warmth surged in his chest.
But now was not the time for sentiment.
Qi Yun opened the island chat panel, his pupils suddenly constricting—
"Damn it! Half of our Tribe is dead! Those ghost things are impossible to kill!"
"19 Tribe is asking for help! Can someone save us! We are willing to hand over all supplies!"
"02 Tribe, we are willing to form an alliance. Can you send people to save us? food, water, women... we'll give everything!"
An overwhelming gap.
Combined with the 01 Tribe's record of zero casualties, this figure brought unimaginable shock to the remaining survivors on the island.
At this moment, when most Tribes had suffered over half casualties and were on the verge of collapse, the 01 Tribe had not only survived with all members intact but had also achieved such terrifying battle results.
After a brief silence, the chat channel exploded.
"Big shots of the 01 Tribe, can you take us in? We still have six people, and we can all work!"
"Please support us, we are all humans, aren't we? I beg you!"
"Chief of the 01 Tribe, I am willing to offer all of our Tribe's supplies, just for sanctuary!"
"Big shot, take me with you! I can do anything!"
Qi Yun quickly scanned through these messages; he did not want to extend a helping hand.
Risking danger to save some strangers.
