29: Chapter 29 The Eerie Silence

Shu Qianxue's team had a much smoother time; after receiving orders, they dealt with the situation instantly, relying solely on their Crossbow Shooter.

Following this pattern of taking turns to attack, clearing targets, and fighting swift battles.

The zombies around the wooden cabin were gradually cleared away.

On the leaderboard, the kill count for Qi Yun's team was rising slowly and steadily, temporarily ranking at the top.

Just after Xia Jin's team finished off two zombies.

The incessant hissing and roaring of zombies across the island vanished all at once, without any warning.

It was as if they had been instantly cut off by an invisible hand.

"All units, stay alert! Every team, retreat back into the cabin."

After Qi Yun issued the retreat order to all teams, he remained outside alone.

Over the next ten minutes, Qi Yun constantly used teleportation while simultaneously utilizing Space Perception.

Nothing.

There was nothing at all.

"Rabbit, what kind of trick are you playing?"

Only after confirming that there were truly no zombies left did Qi Yun return to the wooden cabin.

This was not normal. Extremely abnormal.

This absolute, eerie stillness was more unsettling than a frenzied attack.

After walking through the wooden door, Qi Yun informed everyone with a grave expression.

"Take this time to rest and prepare for battle at any moment."

The constant teleporting had left him mentally exhausted.

Yet, Qi Yun still dared not relax.

The girls were covered in filthy blood and dust, and some of them were still trembling.

But in their eyes, beyond the fear, there was more of a sense of relief for having survived.

No one had died, and only a few had sustained minor injuries.

This was already a miracle.

Everyone in the team was slumped on the ground, closing their eyes to enjoy a moment of peace.

The non-combatant girls were clearly exhausted, so he did not disturb them.

Dead silence enveloped the entire island.

After watching everyone return safely, Ke Yun sighed in relief.

They, the non-combatants, had merely stayed indoors.

But by relying on the information in the island chat channel, they also knew the cruelty of the battles outside.

Not to mention that everyone in the team had their bodies stained with quite a bit of blood.

Her sense of responsibility as a teacher now made her urgently want to do something.

Her gaze turned toward Qi Yun, who was resting with his eyes closed.

Since she had already tacitly allowed Qi Yun to pull her into his arms yesterday.

Why not go all the way?

As long as she was willing to give, she could receive the reward of the clan leaders blessing.

This way, she would be able to help her students.

She wanted to protect her students, and she also wanted to protect Qi Yun.

Perhaps sacrificing herself was the only way she could help right now.

Ke Yun took a deep breath, and when her gaze turned back to Qi Yun, her eyes were now filled with a calm and determined resolve, like someone burning their bridges.

Smoothing out her slightly messy hair, Ke Yun stood up and poured some water into a cup made of folded leaves.

Then she walked toward Qi Yun, who was leaning against the corner of the wall.

Qi Yun sensed someone approaching but did not open his eyes.

He only wanted to recover his energy now.

"Would you like some water, Student Qi?"

Ke Yun crouched down, her voice softer than usual.

She deliberately pulled her animal-skin chest wrap down a little, letting the cleavage peek through in the dim light.

Her mature, voluptuous body curves, wrapped in the crude animal skin, exuded a breathtaking allure.

She wanted to do her best to utilize her advantages as a mature woman.

Qi Yun slowly opened his eyes, and what came into view was Teacher Ke's concerned face close at hand, as well as the increasingly breathtaking, ample curves outlined by the intentionally tightened animal skin.

Today, Teacher Ke seemed a bit different than usual.

"Is something the matter, Teacher?"

Qi Yun did not want to make small talk right now and asked directly.

"Do you still have enough strength right now? Can you still stand up?"

Ke Yun's heart rate accelerated slightly, but her tone remained incredibly firm.

"Hmm, my physical strength is fine, just mentally a bit exhausted."

Qi Yun replied, wondering why the teacher specifically asked this.

Having received a positive answer, Ke Yun let go of her last bit of hesitation and let out a long sigh of relief.

Her eyes became even gentler, and although her voice was soft, every word was clear:

"Student Qi, Teacher wants to completely cross that line."

Ke Yun leaned forward slightly, her body touching Qi Yun's arm, her breath sweet like an orchid:

"I want to protect you, I want to protect the students, and I want to help you all through the clan leaders blessing."

The mature woman's desperate plea seemed exceptionally alluring at this moment.

Qi Yun opened his eyes and met Ke Yun's determined gaze.

Those gentle eyes reflected her determination to protect everyone.

She suddenly reached out and gently stroked Qi Yun's injured left shoulder.

The movement was as gentle as a feather brushing by, yet it made Qi Yun tremble all over.

Ke Yun's eyes welled up with moisture.

"If I had decided sooner, perhaps you wouldn't have needed to suffer this injury."

Her fingers slid down Qi Yun's arm and finally stopped on the back of his hand.

The warm, soft touch made Qi Yun's heart beat faster.

The mature woman's natural scent, mixed with a faint smell of sweat, created a dizzying aura.

"Let me help you, Qi Yun."

This time, her voice was so low that only the two of them could hear it.

"Teacher, have you really decided?"

Qi Yun's voice was somewhat moved.

Ke Yun smiled slightly, that smile carrying a sense of relief.

"Just call me Ke Yun."

"After a while, I will no longer just be your teacher."

Ke Yun took Qi Yun's hand and walked firmly toward the outside of the wooden cabin.

Beneath her animal-skin skirt, her slender legs were partially visible, and every step she took carried the unique charm of a mature woman.

Qi Yun let her lead him, his gaze falling on the elegant lines of her nape.

This teacher, who was usually dignified and intellectual, now displayed a completely different charm.

Having made her decision, Ke Yun no longer resisted physical contact.

If anything, she was the one being more proactive with the contact.

Just after stepping out of the cabin, she pulled hard and brought Qi Yun to her side.

Then she looked around and finally arrived behind the logs.

On the cliff, the ocean was in front of them, and behind them were the stacked logs.

"Let's do it here."

When Ke Yun turned to face Qi Yun, her cheeks were already flushed red.

She then reached out and touched Qi Yun's head.

"Be good; I actually have quite a lot of theoretical knowledge."

Qi Yun nodded obediently; for some reason, he wanted to let the teacher take the lead.

She stepped forward, her soft body pressed against him, and she tilted her head to kiss Qi Yun's lips.

This kiss was gentle yet inexperienced; she kept recalling the videos she had watched in the past.

Qi Yun responded to her kiss, his large hand stroking her smooth back.

He could feel the slight trembling of the body in his arms, yet he also felt an incredible firmness within that trembling.

"Teacher, have you really thought this through?"

Qi Yun whispered in her ear; this was his last confirmation.

Ke Yun nodded gently, her eyes shimmering with moisture: "From today on, I am only your Ke Yun."

She guided Qi Yun's hand to wander over her body. Under the moonlight, the two bodies were pressed tightly together, weaving a beautiful scene under the ancient tree.

Inside the island chat channel, people took advantage of this rare opportunity to begin venting their dissatisfaction.
