61: Chapter 61 The Twins Swap.

The soundproofing in the stone house's rooms was excellent.

Lin Le and Lin Wan decided to stay in the same room.

Lin Wan used the points she hadn't spent earlier to exchange for two simple beds and some daily necessities.

At this moment, Lin Le was sitting cross-legged on her bed, resting her chin on her hands, her large eyes unblinkingly fixed on her sister, Lin Wan.

The soft lighting outlined the gentle and moving contours of Lin Wan's profile.

"Sister." Lin Le spoke suddenly, her voice crisp, breaking the silence in the room.

Lin Wan paused, a habitual, gentle smile appearing on her face: "What's wrong, Xiao Le?"

Lin Le swung her lower legs, still staring at her sister.

"There's something I want to ask you."

"What is it?"

Lin Wan put down the clothes in her hands and looked at her sister, her eyes filled with inquiry.

Lin Le didn't answer immediately. Instead, she jumped off the bed, walked barefoot to Lin Wan's bed, sat down beside her, and affectionately leaned her shoulder against her sister's.

"Sister."

Lin Le's voice lowered, carrying a rare seriousness.

"It's just us two here, stop pretending. Are you... also in love with Brother Qi Yun?"

All sound in the room seemed to vanish.

The gentle smile on Lin Wan's face froze instantly, and she subconsciously wanted to deny it.

"Le Le, what are you saying? I..." Lin Wan opened her mouth, her voice sounding a bit dry.

"Don't deny it."

Lin Le interrupted her with a giggle.

"Every time we play the twin role-swap game, it's me who asks for it, while you've only initiated it a few times, and all of those were related to Qi Yun."

"And don't forget, we are twins; you can't fool me."

Lin Wan's cheeks turned completely red, and her long brown hair slipped down, covering most of her face.

After a long while, Lin Wan finally gave a soft "Mm" in a voice that was almost inaudible.

She had admitted it.

Lin Le's eyes curved into crescents.

She hugged her sister's arm, pressed her face against it, and said in a muffled voice: "Then... why didn't you say anything? Why didn't you make a move on Brother Qi Yun?"

Lin Wan's body trembled slightly, and she reached back to gently pat her sister's hand, her movements somewhat stiff.

"Xiao Le." Her voice was very soft, carrying a resigned sort of tenderness.

"Liking someone is one thing, taking action is another. I will not make a move on him."

She looked at Lin Le, her eyes full of doting, but also a trace of imperceptible bitterness:

"You like Qi Yun, everyone can see it, and Qi Yun likes you more."

"This is fine. Sister... just watching you happy is enough."

"Besides, we are sisters; how could we have the same boyfriend?"

Since they were little, their parents had told her: You are the older sister, you must be sensible and let your younger sister have things.

Whether it was something delicious or fun, she would always yield to Lin Le.

Yielding to her younger sister had almost become her instinct and subconscious reaction.

"It's not fine! It's not fine at all!"

Lin Le suddenly raised her head, her voice rising as well.

"This isn't the world we used to live in! Sister! Those rules don't exist anymore!"

"This is an island! Look at Ke Yun, Shu Qianxue, Xiao Lin, and Sophia!"

"Why can they be together, but we can't? Just because we are sisters?"

Lin Le became more and more agitated as she spoke, her little face flushed red:

"So what if we are sisters? Can't sisters both like the same person? We grew up together, we are of one mind, and we understand each other better than anyone else!"

"If we were both with him, wouldn't we be able to take better care of each other and help him more?"

"Sister, you clearly want this too, so why do you have to yield to me? I don't need you to yield!"

Lin Wan was left speechless by her sister's rapid-fire questions.

Lin Le was right; this was no longer the world they had known before.

Deep down, hadn't she also harbored a sliver of wishful thinking?

But... that was her sister.

The Lin Le who had followed behind her since childhood, sweetly calling out "Sister", who would cry and look for her when she fell, and who would share half of whatever delicious treats she had with her.

The Le Le who would be happy all day because of a single compliment from Qi Yun.

How could she compete? How could she bear to compete?

"Le Le, stop talking."

Lin Wan lowered her eyes, her voice filled with pleading.

"Let's leave it at this, okay? Sister really... cannot."

Seeing her sister like this, Lin Le felt both angry and pained.

She knew that her sister's mental block was too deep; it couldn't be resolved with just a few words.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through Lin Le's mind like lightning.

Since she couldn't persuade her... she would create the conditions and let things happen naturally!

Wasn't her sister afraid to take the initiative? Didn't she think Qi Yun liked her more?

What if... Qi Yun couldn't tell them apart?

What if her sister could also experience Qi Yun's closeness as "Lin Le"?

And then, when her feelings for Qi Yun could break through the shackles of morality, wouldn't it be a done deal?

A bold, slightly mischievous plan quickly took shape in Lin Le's mind.

"Alright, alright, Sister, I won't say anything else."

Lin Le's tone became relaxed, as if her earlier agitation had just been a joke.

"I'm going to use the bathroom, I'll be right back."

After saying this, she jumped off the bed, put on her shoes, and slipped out.

Lin Wan looked at her sister's suddenly changed attitude and hurried retreating figure with some confusion.

Qi Yun had just returned to his room from the edge of the cliff, his mind still full of thoughts about Li.

As he opened the door, Lin Le squeezed in.

"Qi Bao!" She looked up, her large eyes shining brightly.

"What's wrong, Lin Le? What do you need me for?"

Qi Yun ruffled her hair, his tone gentle.

"Qi Bao, I've decided on my wish!"

Lin Le's expression was serious.

"What do you want? A new dress? Or something delicious?" He asked with a smile.

"Neither." Lin Le shook her head.

"My wish is... about our twin swap game."

Qi Yun signaled for her to continue.

Lin Le spoke clearly, word for word.

"From now on, whenever my sister Lin Wan pretends to be me, Brother Qi Yun, you... must never expose her. You must treat her the same way you treat the real Lin Le, when she is pretending to be me. Can you do that?"

Qi Yun was stunned. He hadn't expected Lin Le's wish to be this.

He looked at the expectant light in Lin Le's eyes and slowly nodded.

"Alright, I promise you." His voice was gentle, yet carried the weight of a commitment.

"As long as it is your sister pretending to be you, to me, she is Lin Le."

Lin Le's eyes instantly lit up like stars. She jumped up and hugged Qi Yun: "Thank you, Qi Bao! You are the best!"

Then she turned around and ran out again, not forgetting to gently close the door behind her.

Lin Le ran back to the room in a flurry, closed the door, leaned against it, and calmed her racing heart.

Lin Wan looked at her somewhat strangely: "What's wrong? You're so flustered."

"Sister!" Lin Le walked up to her sister, her eyes sparkling. "Let's play the twin swap game again!"
