99: Chapter 99, Day 1
Qi Yun coughed twice; that girl's way of thinking was always so unique.
Then, Qi Yun looked at Yu Jie: "Alliance Leader Yu, these people, Zhao Dehai and his group, are yours to deal with. Whether you kill them or spare them is up to you."
Yu Jie, still kneeling on the ground, jolted awake from his immense shock.
He looked at Qi Yun, who stood before him backlit like a deity.
He looked at Zhao Dehai, who was being crushed against the ground by an invisible force like a dead dog...
He struggled, using all his strength to crawl up from the ground, and took two staggering steps forward.
Then, under the astonished gazes of everyone, his knees went weak as he knelt heavily in Qi Yun's direction!
"Thud!" His forehead touched the ground.
"Qi Yun! On behalf of all the surviving brothers of the Orderly Alliance, I, Yu Jie, thank you for saving our lives!"
He choked up, his voice hoarse. He was still alive; he still had a chance to see his wife.
Meanwhile, Zhao Dehai and the others pressed to the ground scrambled to beg for mercy:
"Spare, spare my life. Boss Yu, I was wrong, I was blinded by greed."
"Tribe Leader Qi Yun, spare my life, I am willing to be your beast of burden."
"Don't kill me, I know I was wrong, I won't ever dare do it again."
However, their pleas for mercy seemed so pale and powerless at this moment.
Yu Jie stood up and slowly raised his head. The tear stains on his face had not yet dried, but his eyes had already turned cold.
He took a deep breath and looked at Zhao Dehai and the others on the ground: "I gave you all chances, but you wasted them."
Qi Yun nodded, showing no reaction.
Receiving tacit approval, a fierce glint flashed in Yu Jie's eyes. He snatched a machete from the trembling hand of a trusted subordinate beside him and staggered toward Zhao Dehai, who was pinned to the ground.
"Yu Jie! No! Boss Yu! Spare..." Zhao Dehai's eyes widened in terror, his final plea for mercy choked off in his throat.
A flash of the blade, and blood splattered five paces away. Immediately after, there were three more short, sharp wails.
Yu Jie dropped the blood-dripping machete, his body swaying. He turned around to face Qi Yun again: "Please enter the stronghold, Qi Yun! The Orderly Alliance awaits your orders!"
Qi Yun looked at the leader of the Orderly Alliance before him, whom he had pulled from the brink of despair and who had just killed his own traitors. A trace of imperceptible complexity flashed in his eyes.
The cannon fodder was now in place.
"Alliance Leader Yu, your Orderly Alliance claims to be the largest force on the island. Is this all the combat power you have left?"
Qi Yun's gaze swept across the chaotic battlefield. Upon hearing this, a hint of bitterness flashed across Yu Jie's face:
"Most of our alliance's top combat forces, as well as our rare class members, are currently fully occupied pinning down… that giant zombie."
"A giant zombie?" Qi Yun raised an eyebrow, immediately recalling the terrifying giant he had seen earlier. So, it was being held back by the main force of the Orderly Alliance.
"Take me to see that Mountain Giant Zombie." Qi Yun's tone was unquestionable.
Yu Jie was stunned at first, then overjoyed! Qi Yun was willing to deal with that Mountain Giant Zombie?
"Yes!" Yu Jie did not dare to be the slightest bit negligent.
The group climbed the high slope on one side of the valley, and the scene before them was shocking.
In the center of the valley, the "Mountain Giant Zombie," which looked like a small hill, was kneeling on one knee. The part below its left knee was unnaturally twisted and broken.
Qi Yun turned his head to look at Yu Jie: "Alliance Leader Yu, do the people in the stronghold, including these combatants here, still follow your orders?"
Yu Jie paused for a moment, then immediately straightened his back and replied solemnly: "These people now all follow my orders, which means they all follow your orders!"
"Very good." Qi Yun nodded. He tilted his head slightly and gave a concise order to Lin Wan and Lin Le, who were hovering in the air: "Wan'er, Le Le. Take it out."
"Yes!" "Watch me!" The sisters responded in unison.
Lin Wan's ice-blue eyes instantly became incredibly focused. "Sinking Illusionary Dream · Moon Haze!"
The silent mental shock hit the target precisely! The Mountain Giant Zombie, which had been swinging its massive arms, suddenly stiffened!
Its massive body swayed slightly, and its eyes were filled with confusion.
"Shadow of the Holy Sword!" Lin Le shouted, and two "Shadows of the Holy Sword" instantly formed in front of her! "Go!"
As Lin Le focused her mind, the two Shadows of the Holy Sword merged into one, forming a giant sword several meters long that slashed at the giant zombie's neck!
Under the gaze of all the Orderly Alliance soldiers, that head, as massive as a mountain, crashed down into the valley.
In the valley, the surviving Orderly Alliance soldiers all stopped what they were doing, their mouths agape and eyes wide. This... this was it?
We fought desperately, suffered heavy casualties, and only managed to break one of its legs. They arrived, and actually decapitated it just like that?
They looked at the two stunning figures in the air who were slowly folding their wings and descending. The awe in their eyes had risen to the level of looking at deities.
Lin Le took her sister Lin Wan's hand and landed lightly in front of Qi Yun. Her little face was full of pride and expectation as she said, as if asking for credit: "Qi Bao! How was that? Am I amazing? I chopped its head off in one slash!"
Lin Wan was much more reserved, only slightly pursing her lips.
Qi Yun reached out and ruffled Lin Le's hair, then stroked Lin Wan's cheek: "Well done. I'll reward you both tonight."
Having received the praise, Lin Le smiled even more happily.
Only then did the surviving Orderly Alliance soldiers in the valley snap out of their shock.
"We... we won?" "The giant zombie... is dead? Really dead?!" "It's an angel! Angels saved us!" "Long live Tribe Leader Qi Yun! Long live the 01 Tribe!"
Qi Yun looked at Yu Jie and asked directly: "Yu Jie, take a count. How many rare class members with full combat capability do you have left under your command? How many ordinary able-bodied men? What is the situation with equipment, arrows, fuel, and available fortifications? I want the most detailed data, immediately."
His tone carried a sense of urgency, as if a great war were imminent. Yu Jie asked, puzzled: "What happened?" "A natural disaster is coming."
...Li stood atop a ruin. Li looked indifferently at the land beneath her feet that had just been "cleansed." Amidst the broken walls and ruins, there were occasional wails of those not yet dead.
"Boring." Her red lips parted slightly, spitting out the two cold words.
At the edge of her vision, a few disheveled figures were carrying a burly man with a terrifying puncture wound in his chest and abdomen, his breath fading as they stumbled toward the north. It was Wang Chong and his last few trusted subordinates.
Li didn't even turn her head to look at them. To her, they were just insignificant ants that had completely lost their combat effectiveness.
"That's enough for today." She muttered to herself. "I'm a bit interested in meeting that 'special' ant."
The corners of her mouth curved into an extremely faint arc. "However, interesting things should always be saved for last; it's better to savor them slowly."
As her voice faded, her purple figure silently faded and disappeared. The first day slipped away quietly.
