111: Chapter 111 The Disabled CEO's Benefactor 8
Sitting inside the car, Lu Zhan let out a long, soft breath. The hazy look in his eyes gradually faded, returning to its usual clarity.
He smoothed out his slightly wrinkled and messy clothes with gentle, meticulous movements before slowly pushing open the car door and stepping out steadily.
He quietly surveyed his surroundings. This manor seemed to have stood still in the river of time; even after all these years, it hadn't changed in the slightest.
He had been here many times before and could be considered a regular guest.
A gentle expression appeared on Lu Zhan's face, and with a slight upward curve of his lips, he softly greeted the elderly man standing nearby.
“Uncle Li, it's been a long time.”
The old man quickly focused his gaze to study Lu Zhan's face carefully. After a short while, he recognized Lu Zhan as if waking from a dream.
His eyes instantly grew moist, a faint glimmer of tears flickering within them, and his face was filled with an expression of ecstatic joy.
His young master had tasted the bitterness of fate since childhood; his father didn't cherish him, his mother didn't care for him, and he had even suffered such a heavy injury.
After all these years, he finally found someone who could warm his heart, only for that person to go far away to a foreign land.
And now, the person the young master had been waiting for so bitterly had finally returned. He was sincerely happy and relieved for his young master.
“Young Master Lu, you've finally returned. My young master has been missing you constantly these past few years, often staring blankly at your photo alone.”
“Furthermore, ever since you left, Young Master Lu, the young master hasn't smiled much...”
Lu Zhan listened with a serious expression, a faint smile unconsciously appearing in his eyes.
“Uncle Li, you shouldn't say so much.”
A slightly raised tone suddenly interrupted Uncle Li's sentimental words.
Uncle Li didn't continue. He looked down at Fu Jinghan, who was still sitting in the car, and sighed helplessly in his heart.
With the young master's personality of all action and no talk, he didn't know when he would finally win Young Master Lu over.
Lu Zhan turned his head slightly, a few glints of mischief flashing in his eyes. He sized up the person sitting in the car with great interest and said in a teasing tone,
“Brother Han, listening to Uncle Li's words, why do I feel like you're like a little daughter-in-law waiting for her husband to return home?”
The words “little daughter-in-law” made Fu Jinghan's heart jerk violently. His eyes instantly widened, filled with panic and helplessness.
His cold, pale face was suddenly dyed with patches of red like the evening clouds due to shyness, and even the tips of his ears turned a deep red.
Fu Jinghan bit his lip, a look of slight annoyance on his face. His brows furrowed slightly as he said in a small voice that lacked any real threat,
“A-Zhan, you mustn't talk such nonsense and make fun of me!”
Uncle Li, being quite perceptive, had already moved to a distance. He looked here and there, purposefully avoiding looking toward his young master.
Looking at the red-faced and annoyed Fu Jinghan, Lu Zhan couldn't help but feel a strange surge of emotion. Why hadn't he noticed before that the other man was so cute and interesting?
Though his internal emotions were stirring, his outward expression remained normal. Lu Zhan didn't continue to provoke him.
Lowering his head slightly with a faint smile on his lips, he said in a somewhat pleading manner,
“Alright, I'll stop talking nonsense. Brother Han, hurry and get out of the car; let's go in together.”
Hearing this, Fu Jinghan's face stiffened slightly.
It wasn't that he didn't want to get out. His legs had been used as a pillow by A-Zhan for so long without moving; never mind the faint pain in his residual limbs, his right leg had been lacking strength since just now.
If he got out of the car now, his pathetic state would surely be noticed by A-Zhan.
At this thought, a flash of panic and anxiety crossed Fu Jinghan's eyes. His brows knit slightly, his lips pressed tightly together, and his hands unconsciously gripped the edge of the seat, his body becoming somewhat stiff.
“A-Zhan, my legs are a bit numb. You go in first. You're familiar with my place anyway. I'll come in after I rest for a moment.”
Upon hearing this, a look of slight embarrassment appeared on Lu Zhan's handsome face. His eyes were full of concern as he looked at Fu Jinghan's legs.
“Since I caused it, why don't I give them a rub and massage to relieve the numbness for Brother Han?”
Without waiting for a response, Lu Zhan went directly around to the other side, opened the door, leaned down, and reached out his hands to place them on Fu Jinghan's legs.
Seeing Lu Zhan's movements, Fu Jinghan's heart was filled with fear and panic. Without time to think, he quickly and tightly grasped Lu Zhan's hands.
Fine beads of sweat broke out on his forehead, and a flash of tension appeared in his eyes as he tried his best to maintain a facade of calm.
“There's no need for such trouble. A-Zhan, be good. You go in first. I'll be fine after a rest. I'll come in a moment.”
Lu Zhan only felt his hands being squeezed until they hurt. He looked at Fu Jinghan with eyes full of confusion. He just wanted to touch his legs; why was the reaction so extreme?
However, this also indirectly confirmed his initial suspicion: there was indeed something wrong with Fu Jinghan's legs, and it was likely no small problem.
But since the other man was determined to hide it, he couldn't very well push too hard for no reason. A flash of helplessness passed through his eyes, and with a sigh in his heart, he said calmly,
“Understood. Then I'll go in first.”
Having said that, Lu Zhan straightened up and withdrew his hands.
Sure enough, his hands had been squeezed until large patches turned red, and some spots even showed faint hints of purple, showing how much strength the other man had just used.
Lu Zhan frowned slightly but didn't blame him in the least.
This scene was clearly reflected in Fu Jinghan's eyes, and a intense surge of guilt and unease instantly welled up in his heart.
His hands unconsciously twisted together, and his face was covered with an expression of self-reproach.
Fu Jinghan looked up at Lu Zhan with eyes full of regret, his voice trembling slightly.
“A-Zhan, I'm sorry. I didn't do it on purpose just now. I'm just not used to people suddenly touching my legs and had an overreaction. Please don't be angry.”
Lu Zhan nodded after hearing this, his expression softening slightly. The corners of his mouth turned up, and his eyes held a hint of reassurance.
“Mhm, I understand. I'm not unhappy. Don't worry, Brother Han, I'm fine.”
The comforting words contrasted with the marks on Lu Zhan's hands, making Fu Jinghan feel even worse. He had actually hurt A-Zhan.
“A-Zhan, I promise there won't be a next time.”
Noticing that Fu Jinghan's mood was off, Lu Zhan quietly hid his hands behind his back. He nodded with a gentle expression and then casually changed the subject with a light tone.
“Brother Han, I'm a bit hungry. Speaking of which, it's been a long time since I've had a meal at your house. I rather miss it.”
After saying that, Lu Zhan shrugged, a hint of mischief in his eyes.
These somewhat childish words and actions allowed Fu Jinghan's mind to settle a bit. The corners of his mouth curled up into a doting smile.
“Then eat more in a bit. You should come often in the future too.”
Lu Zhan nodded slightly upon hearing this, gave him a gentle look, and without saying anything more, turned and walked inside.
