6: Chapter 6 The Tragic Young Master's Benefactor 5
Lu Zhan narrowed his eyes slightly, a rare hint of softness appearing in his indifferent gaze. Just like before, he reached out and rubbed the young man's head, his soft, slightly long black hair sliding smoothly through his fingers.
It had been a long time since he felt this way; Lin Sicheng had almost forgotten the last time Sir had tousled his hair.
Sir's slender fingers were as cool as jade. As they brushed through his hair, Lin Sicheng couldn't help but nuzzle his head against Lu Zhan's palm.
Lu Zhan let out a couple of soft, inscrutable chuckles. He really couldn't see how this soft and promising male lead seemed like someone with a blackening value as high as 95.
A smile touched Lu Zhan's eyes, softening his cold and detached expression. He teased, "Years have passed, yet you're still like a child, just like before!"
"No, I'm not a child. It would be best if Sir didn't treat me like one anymore either." Lin Sicheng's tone became uncharacteristically exasperated, but coupled with his blushing face, it clearly wasn't very convincing.
Although Lu Zhan didn't understand complex human emotions, he showed respect. Even though Lin Sicheng was just a character in a Small World, he still made Lu Zhan feel a heart full of sincerity that hadn't dissipated even after many years.
Lu Zhan had originally thought those years would be mere passing clouds to Lin Sicheng, and that time would dilute the deep reliance he once had.
Because as the Child of Luck, Lin Sicheng was destined to stand higher, achieve more, and meet better people in the future. He hadn't expected that years later, Lin Sicheng would still treat him exactly as he did in the beginning.
Lu Zhan walked to the living room sofa and sat down with his legs crossed. His left hand rested casually on the sofa, while his right hand was on the armrest, his index finger tapping lightly.
"Xiao Cheng, come stand here," Lu Zhan said softly. Although Lin Sicheng was still acting awkward, he still walked over to Lu Zhan with a face full of obedience and reliance.
Lu Zhan looked up at this version of Lin Sicheng, feeling a bit uncertain in his heart.
But since Headquarters said the reason for the blackening lies with me, then the problem can only be the fact that I left five years ago. After all, besides that, Lu Zhan didn't believe he had done anything to wrong the male lead.
Lu Zhan asked in a serious and solemn tone, "Xiao Cheng, when I left a few years ago, did you blame me?" After speaking, Lu Zhan stared intently at Lin Sicheng, not wanting to miss any suspicious detail.
Sir, don't you think it's too late to say these things now? I won't believe you anymore. Only by making you mine alone will you behave and only look at me. I only trust myself now.
Lin Sicheng thought this in his heart, but his expression didn't change at all. He said gently and calmly, without any haste:
"How could I blame Sir? Everything was of my own accord and had nothing to do with Sir. I only hope that no matter what Xiao Cheng does in the future, Sir can hit me or scold me, just don't leave me behind again. And don't Life Qi, lest you ruin your health; I would be heartbroken."
Despite the words being full of tolerance, care, and concern, Lu Zhan somehow felt a hint of eeriness in them.
Just as he was about to say something, the young man crouched down, resting his folded hands on Lu Zhan's lap and leaning his chin on them. He looked up at him with an expression of total reliance; no matter how one looked at it, he seemed so well-behaved!
He was like a fierce tiger in front of outsiders, with his aura fully unleashed and domineering, but in front of Lu Zhan, he was a well-behaved and cute ragdoll cat, seeking comfort and pets. This contrast unknowingly struck some of Lu Zhan's preferences.
Lu Zhan's hand rested on the young man's head once more. As if petting a cat, he stroked the young man's soft hair with a slight hint of tenderness.
Lu Zhan gave a soft hum of agreement and continued, "I won't in the future. Xiao Cheng is so good, I won't Life Qi."
Lin Sicheng didn't speak further. He moved his hands slightly, wrapping them around Lu Zhan's waist, and buried his head against Lu Zhan's side.
Lin Sicheng felt the body beneath his hands stiffen and tense for a moment, then slowly relax back to normal.
Lu Zhan was still not quite used to such intimate contact from the young man.
Although the boy used to frequently ask for hugs and comfort, he was still young then, and Lu Zhan had only treated it like raising a child.
Looking down at the young man's messy head of hair, he eventually just furrowed his brows and said nothing more. He simply treated it as a momentary childish Heart-Nature after years of separation and didn't pay it much mind, letting him be.
It wasn't surprising that Lu Zhan didn't think much of it, as he didn't understand much about the emotions between men. Moreover, he was already 32 years old while Lin Sicheng was only 23—a gap of nine years between them.
In a place where Lu Zhan couldn't see, Lin Sicheng's fingers tightly gripped Lu Zhan's clothes.
His previously gentle and calm face twitched slightly with a strange smile. Various emotions surged in his eyes: desire, excitement, struggle, pain, tenderness... eventually, everything returned to calm.
Everything about the male lead was normal, just like before, with no issues. Even his cooking tastes and small habits were the same as before—this was Lu Zhan's impression today.
However, the blackening value from the Auxiliary System was real. Therefore, there must be some part he had overlooked. Lu Zhan sat on the sofa by the bedroom's floor-to-ceiling window, quietly reflecting.
This was the scene Lin Sicheng saw when he pushed open the door: the lights, the night view, and a handsome man sitting languidly.
Dressed in pajamas, he was full of allure. Lin Sicheng even found those slender, jade-like fingers tapping on the armrest to be incredibly sexy.
Hearing the sound, Lu Zhan glanced toward the door. Seeing it was Lin Sicheng, he turned back indifferently.
"Sir, drink a glass of milk and get some rest early."
As Lin Sicheng spoke, he handed Lu Zhan the warmed milk, which was at just the right temperature.
The young man looked obedient, but a flicker of anxiety and excitement seemed to appear in his eyes.
But it vanished quickly—so fast that one would doubt if the emotion had ever truly existed. When Lu Zhan looked closely, there was only total reliance left in the kid's eyes.
Without thinking much or suspecting anything, Lu Zhan defenselessly took the milk and drank most of the glass.
Lin Sicheng watched Lu Zhan with a gentle expression: the slender fingers holding the glass, the slightly parted thin lips, the swallowing Adam's apple, and the indifferent eyes.
All of this was challenging Lin Sicheng's precarious self-control.
Lin Sicheng's eyes gradually grew unfathomably deep and were tinged with a bit of darkness. His body and fingers trembled slightly, as if he urgently wanted to do something but feared scaring the person away, his willpower desperately suppressing the urge.
Soon, soon. No rush. The person has already entered the circle; the time for enjoyment will come very soon.
He's about to be mine. A long-held wish will finally reach Perfection today! Lin Sicheng's abnormality quickly returned to normal.
Lu Zhan put down the glass in his hand. Looking at Lin Sicheng before him, he was completely baffled. Thinking it better to cut the Gordian knot, he asked directly.
"Xiao Cheng, do you have anything you want now, or is there anything you're dissatisfied with?"
"There's nothing I want and nothing I'm dissatisfied with. I will eventually get what I want myself, and I can take revenge for my own dissatisfactions. Now that Sir is back, everything is great. I am very satisfied."
Lu Zhan watched the kid. Hearing that same old tone and seeing that same old expression, he actually found them to be without any flaws.
