49: Chapter 49 The Tragic Female Insect's Nobleman 11
"Your Highness, for so many years, I have missed you so much. Let's go home."
Bo Yisi could not describe the burning emotions suppressed within that sentence; he only knew that he did not want to stay in this room for another moment.
Bo Yisi before him, the words falling into his ears, the hand being tightly grasped.
Confusion that could not be dispersed appeared in Lu Zhan's eyes. Hadn't he already cast him aside long ago? It was as if he were casting aside a dirty burden.
Not wanting to struggle with it or dwell on it, he only hoped that the Military Zerg before him would leave quickly, as if that could maintain his last shred of dignity.
"Bo Yisi, this is my home. I will not go with you. Please leave."
His tone was very flat, without much emotion, as if he were merely stating a basic fact.
"Home? Your Highness, are you together with this Military Zerg, Mervyn?"
Bo Yisi's voice suddenly seemed a bit hoarse, and his beating heart felt as if it had suffered a violent impact. If they were really together, he thought, he would surely kill the Military Zerg on the ground immediately.
"When I was abandoned and slandered by the entire Empire, only Mervyn was there to accompany me and take care of me. This is my home."
A glimmer of gratitude appeared in his silver eyes. At his most painful moment, at least there was still Mervyn, who could bring a brief warmth to that heart, which was aching to the point of numbness and permeated with deep coldness.
Bo Yisi easily read His Highness in that moment; fortunately, it was not as he had imagined. But His Highness had indeed been taken advantage of by this despicable Military Zerg on the ground.
"Your Highness, the statement issued by the Empire was not my intention. I have already investigated; it was the Royal Family obstructing from within, deliberately misinterpreting my meaning to slander Your Highness. I will certainly pursue this to the end to restore Your Highness's innocence."
Bo Yisi explained eagerly, trying hard to piece together his image, which had already collapsed into ruins in His Highness's heart.
Upon hearing this, Lu Zhan did not feel even a shred of pleasure; he only felt his whole heart turn cold, making it hard for him to adjust.
"I don't care anymore. I don't feel like there is anything wrong with me right now. Bo Yisi, please leave and do not come to disturb my life again."
Bo Yisi looked at His Highness before him in shock. He was cold and aloof, his eyes like a pool of stagnant water, as if he did not care about anything anymore. His tone was indifferent, yet it revealed an unchangeable firmness.
This was completely different from what he had expected. Was it because of Mervyn?
Bo Yisi's pitch-black eyes were stained with darkness and hostility as he looked at the Military Zerg on the ground. His Mental Energy began to stir again.
The Male Zerg seemed to sense his malice and immediately moved, using his body to block his line of sight, shielding the Military Zerg behind him.
"Bo Yisi, please do not hurt him."
The worry filled his tone, and his actions were a decisive defense.
Bo Yisi realized that from the beginning until now, only when it involved this Military Zerg did His Highness show any emotion; the rest of the time, he was like a puppet.
This made Bo Yisi jealous to death, but at the same time, it made him realize that gentle tactics were no longer effective on His Highness.
"Your Highness, I forgot to tell you that I have not yet signed the divorce agreement, so you are still my Male Lord. You are surely aware of the Empire's Zerg laws. As for the obligations of a Male Lord, you have been absent for so many years; now it is time to properly repay them, is it not?"
Bo Yisi seemed to have reined in all his emotions, speaking in a flat tone, but deep within those black eyes lay a profound threat, and his Mental Energy was constantly pressing down on the Military Zerg on the ground.
Mervyn, whose consciousness was fading, felt the pain of blades constantly piercing his body again. He groaned unconsciously, his face pale, sweat trickling down.
A touch of anxiety welled up in Lu Zhan's heart, and his eyes, like stagnant water, were filled with worry.
"Do not hurt him anymore; I will go with you."
Even though it was the answer he wanted, Bo Yisi did not feel happy. He only felt that the flames of jealousy were about to drown him. He withdrew his Mental Energy and calmed his emotions slightly.
"Military Zergs will take him to the hospital later. Let us go too, Male Lord; it is time to go home, to our home."
Saying this, Bo Yisi took His Highness's hand and walked directly out the door.
The Male Zerg, who had not gone out for a long time, felt very uncomfortable when he walked out that door. He suddenly wanted to return to that dilapidated little room and stay there.
But he was restrained and could not break free.
Upon learning of Marshal Bo Yisi's arrival, the area below the residential building was already crowded with Female Zergs who had come for his reputation. The moment Bo Yisi dragged the Male Zerg out.
The surrounding Female Zergs all looked over. Lu Zhan subconsciously lowered his head, his face turning a shade paler, fine sweat breaking out on his forehead, his shallow breathing briefly stagnating.
All of this seemed to be the Male Zerg's stress reaction; he was afraid of the crowd and their gazes.
Bo Yisi had already noticed the Male Zerg's abnormal state and immediately turned to block all curious gazes, speaking gently.
"Your Highness, I am here."
The Male Zerg remained silent, walking quickly towards the hovercar, but his other hand was tightly clutching the moon-white robe he was wearing.
The surrounding Female Zergs were all discussing what they saw, but they were afraid of disturbing Marshal Bo Yisi, so their voices were low.
"Marshal Bo Yisi seems to be holding a Male Zerg, Your Highness."
"Although he is keeping his head down and his face is unclear, with that long silver hair, could it be that Male Zerg?"
"Why does that Male Zerg look so thin! Is he the Male Lord that Marshal Bo Yisi speaks of?"
"Looking at Marshal Bo Yisi's demeanor, he is very protective of his Male Lord. I fear the things on the starnet are not true."
Some Female Zergs even secretly took photos and recorded videos to post on the starnet.
Bo Yisi did not stop this; his original intention was to completely break the rumors. His Male Lord was very good, and his relationship with his Male Lord was even better.
Consequently, a series of new comments appeared on the starnet, all meaning roughly the same thing.
Caption: Marshal Bo Yisi and his Male Lord seem to be getting along very well; the things said before do not exist. It seems that what was said previously was all baseless.
Caption: "There is likely an untold story behind this; we may have wronged His Highness Nashiu the Male Zerg!"
After today, the radical comments on the starnet subsided quite a bit.
Furthermore, a group of rationalists began to appear. After reasonable analysis and considering Marshal Bo Yisi's attitude, they had reason to suspect that everything was a rumor and that the citizens of the Empire owed His Highness Nashiu the Male Zerg an apology.
Everything seemed to be developing in a good direction, but was that really the case?
A broken porcelain doll has been glued back together; is it still the same porcelain doll as before? And whose heart is weeping behind those cracks covering its body?
