141: Chapter 141: Design Completed, Mech Manufacturing Begins

Morning light spilled into the Artifact Refining Workshop, brighter than yesterday.

The armor plate with green patterns shimmered in the light; the crack had shrunk by half.

Chen Wuwang stood in the center, his mechanical eye opening and closing, a blue light sweeping across the entire workshop.

He raised his hand and swiped three times in the air, causing a light screen to appear.

A 3D model slowly rotated, revealing the appearance of the battle armor: a streamlined body, foldable arm blades, dual-core spiritual energy furnaces on the back, and a Bloodline recognition ring inside the cockpit.

Every seam and every circuit was clearly visible, and even the smallest chip placements were precise.

"The data is ready," he said. His voice was not loud, but everyone heard him. "The frequency of the Life Resonance Repair System is three thousand six hundred times per second, with very little margin of error."

The blueprint floated in the air, and everyone stared at it, no one speaking.

Chen Tiezhu took out a sheet of metal paper from behind and slowly unfolded it.

This was the final blueprint they had revised last night, marked with charcoal handwriting and spiritual energy engravings.

Every modification was dated and signed.

At the very top, he wrote seven characters: Foundation Establishment Exclusive · Battle Armor Type I.

"It begins!" he shouted, his voice a bit hoarse.

The people nearby immediately crowded around. Twenty apprentices, eight veteran craftsmen, and three Materials experts all stared at the blueprint, their eyes shining.

"This is the first batch of exclusive mechs for our Chen family!" Chen Tiezhu pointed to the energy section and said, "We've left two ports here; the left side is for spiritual energy, and the right side is for magic patterns, so it can be upgraded in the future."

Someone asked in a low voice, "Can it really repair itself?"

Chen Tiezhu didn't answer; he grabbed the green-patterned armor plate and slammed it hard onto the ground.

With a "crack," several fine lines split across the surface.

Everyone was startled.

But in less than ten seconds, the edges of the cracks began to glow green, as if something was moving, and the gaps slowly shrank by a third.

"Do you believe it now?" Chen Tiezhu sneered.

Everyone was stunned for a moment, then they all cheered.

A young clansman jumped up, "We have our own battle armor now!"

An old craftsman touched the edge of the blueprint, his hands trembling, "This blueprint... is even more detailed than what the Immortal Sect gives."

"It's different," Chen Wuwang spoke up. "This isn't just a tool; it's a comrade-in-arms. It must understand its master, and it must be able to shield its master from death."

After speaking, he walked to the wall and pressed a button.

The wall slid open, revealing five empty tracks. At the end of the tracks were five slots for cores, with spiritual energy tubes and cooling Systems arranged below.

"The design is ready," he said. "Now, we begin manufacturing."

As soon as he finished speaking, the entire workshop sprang into action.

Zhang Hu was the first to rush out, "Structure Team! Use the new alloy for the frame, the temperature must not exceed nine thousand degrees!"

"Li Xing!" Chen Tiezhu shouted.

"Present!"

"You are in charge of the armor plates. Every piece must have an interface left, and don't forget the position of the patterns."

Orders followed one after another, and everyone immediately got to work. The conveyor belt started, and Materials were delivered from underground.

The cutting machines began to preheat, sparks flying everywhere.

The Control Team began welding rune chips, their fingers flashing with light.

An apprentice carrying metal plates ran through the corridor and nearly collided with an old craftsman who had just stepped out.

The two exchanged a glance, neither spoke, just patted each other on the shoulder before moving on.

In a corner, two Materials experts were arguing.

"The titanium crystal alloy must be magnetized first, otherwise the engraving will be skewed!"

"But magnetization will affect the activity of the tree sap; we tested it yesterday!"

"Then do it in steps! Shape it first, then add the tree sap, and finally engrave it!"

"Fine! That's how we'll do it!"

The two turned and left, one to adjust the machine, the other to get the Materials.

Chen Wuwang stood on the high platform, watching the busy people below. He raised his hand and pressed his chest. The System in his mind was still running, but he didn't need to look at it now.

He knew the hardest time had come.

But he didn't need a reminder.

Because everyone was moving.

Chen Tiezhu glanced at the blueprint and pinned it to the center of the workstation. He put on his face shield, picked up the welding torch, and walked toward the first line.

"Start work!"

The welding torch ignited, blue-white flames spewing out, illuminating his face and making him look determined.

The first member of the Structure Team hoisted the first alloy beam up, and the clamp locked with a "click."

The Armor Team began pressing the first chest plate; the machines roared, and the metal took shape under high temperature and pressure.

The Control Team finished welding the third chip, and the test display showed "Connection Normal."

All five lines advanced together, the pace was fast, and no one stopped.

Chen Wuwang walked down and wove through the crowd. He stopped and reached out to touch the frame on the first line.

The metal was cold, but he could feel a vibration inside.

He knew this was not just a mech.

This was proof of the Chen family standing up from the ruins.

It was the beginning of them no longer being bullied.

He looked up and saw Chen Tiezhu crouching in front of the welding point, one hand holding the face shield, the other steadily pushing the welding seam.

Sweat ran down his temples, soaking a patch of his clothes.

"Uncle," Chen Wuwang called softly.

Chen Tiezhu didn't turn back, but raised his hand to indicate he had heard.

"Make five for the first batch," Chen Wuwang said, "Every clansman at the Foundation Establishment level must have one."

"Understood," Chen Tiezhu said in a low voice, "Not a single one can be missing."

In the distance, Li Xing brought people to move the first shoulder plate to the testing bench. She scanned it with an instrument, stared at the screen, and frowned.

"What's wrong?" the assistant asked.

"The interface conductivity is only 87%, not enough."

"Press it again?"

"No, the metal is too fatigued. Get a new plate and re-cast it."

She ordered, and two apprentices immediately went to get new Materials.

On the other side, the Control Team suddenly cheered.

"The third group of chips is fully connected! Signal is normal!"

"Continue, don't stop!"

Chen Wuwang stood watching this group of people. They were no longer just clansmen who only knew how to obey, but people who were truly participating.

He remembered that rainy night three years ago.

The insectoids attacked the village, flames soared into the sky, and clansmen fell to the ground. He knelt in the ruins, hearing the System's voice for the first time.

At that time, he only wanted to survive.

Now, he wanted the whole family to stand up.

"Family Head," an apprentice ran over to hand him a list, "The Materials for the Structure Team are ready; we can work for twelve hours."

"Good," Chen Wuwang took it and glanced at it, "Notify all groups, shift rotation begins, I'm not leaving tonight."

The apprentice nodded and ran off.

Chen Wuwang looked up at the ceiling. The ventilation ducts were humming, and the dust removal Formation activated, sucking dust into the underground purification pool.

Everything was moving.

Everything was orderly.

He returned to the high platform, opened the communication disk, and sent a message to everyone: "Starting today, the Artifact Refining Workshop will work in three shifts; the first shift begins now."

The message spread throughout the entire workshop.

Those eating put down their bowls, those resting put on their work clothes, and those debugging equipment started working immediately.

No one complained, no one hesitated.

Because they knew this was not just a mission.

This was their mech.

Their dignity.

Their future.

Chen Tiezhu stood up and took off his face shield; his face was covered in sweat and dust. He looked at the skeleton gradually taking shape on the first line and said in a low voice, "In this life, I haven't lived in vain."

He put on new gloves and picked up the second welding torch.

"Come on, let's connect the second section!"

The flame rose again.

The metal melted together, making a "sizzle" sound.

The first main beam was connected.

In the distance, the fifth line was also ready. A newcomer was carefully installing the back heat sink, their hands very steady.

Chen Wuwang stood at the edge of the high platform, hands resting on the railing, watching the five lines.

Five mechs, five lives.

They hadn't started yet, but they were already breathing.

He suddenly felt his right arm go numb. The wound was still bleeding, but he didn't care.

The wind blew in, carrying the scent of metal and fire.

That original green-patterned armor plate lay quietly on the table, the shimmer still there.

The sparks from the welding torches flew through the air like falling stars.

Chen Tiezhu shouted, "Third group, energy supply test!"

"Ready!"

"Power on!"

Current surged in, and the lights under the tracks lit up one by one, from near to far, illuminating the entire workshop.

Five lines, five beams of light, pointing forward.

Chen Wuwang raised his hand and clenched his fist.

Manufacturing had begun.
