397: Chapter 397 Chen Wuwang Strikes, Laser Sword Sweeps Across

The sounds of killing shook the heavens, and the earth trembled under the charge of five thousand rebel soldiers.

Blade light stood like a forest, spiritual power surged, and the entire battlefield was stained dark red by killing intent.

The general in black armor waved his long blade, his furious roar echoing through the night sky: "All troops—advance! Flatten the Chen Family city wall!"

The next instant, on top of the city wall, a figure moved.

It did not jump down; rather, it—tore through the air!

His silver-white hair exploded behind him, his left eye's Mechanical Prosthetic Eye suddenly lit up with blinding blue light, and a humming sound erupted from beneath the ground.

In an instant, black nano-battle armor ejected from beneath his skin, pieces of metal scale armor splicing together at high speed; shoulder guards, chest plate, arm gauntlets, leg armor—seamlessly fitting together, locking shut with a boom!

"eye of wuwang"—Body Integration complete!

With a loud bang, the ground shattered, and Chen Wuwang had already smashed into the center of the battlefield like a falling star.

Dust shot up into the sky, all debris within a ten-meter radius evaporated, leaving only a deep pit with edges covered in spiderweb-like cracks.

He stood at the bottom of the pit, the battle armor flowing with pale blue psionic patterns throughout its body; a mechanical click sounded from behind his shoulder, and the laser sword slid out; before the blade was fully deployed, it already had a flickering, scorching white glow.

The front-row rebel soldiers hadn't reacted yet, only feeling a terrifying Spiritual Pressure rushing toward them, their breathing stalling for a moment.

"What… is that?!" someone screamed.

"Mecha?! He's wearing a mecha?!" another person's voice trembled.

"Don't be afraid! It's just a tin can! Surround it and tear it apart!" a burly man roared, raising a giant axe and charging.

Chen Wuwang slowly raised his head, a blood-colored spiritual pattern in his right eye flashing and vanishing.

He didn't speak, merely raising his right hand, five fingers spread, then—slashed down fiercely!

Hum—!

A hundred-meter-long arc of Sword Qi swept out, like the scythe of the Grim Reaper passing through a wheat field.

There was no explosion, no roar, only a silent blade of light, skimming rapidly across the ground.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The three front phalanxes, a full three hundred plus rebel soldiers, had their chest armor and internal organs cut open simultaneously, their bodies splitting down the middle, yet they did not fall immediately.

They widened their eyes, looking down at their split bodies, making "gurgling" sounds in their throats, before finally collapsing with a boom.

Fresh blood gushed out, pooling into streams, winding along the terrain.

"Ahhh—!"

"My hand! My hand is gone!"

"Save me! Save me—!"

Screams rose one after another.

The rebel soldiers grazed by the Sword Qi were not severed, but their limbs were twisted and deformed, their bones shattered, curling up on the ground like shrimp, wailing in pain.

That high-energy shockwave penetrated their flesh and injured their internal organs, but it was not fatal, instead making them clearly feel every inch of pain.

The rear soldiers were so scared they retreated repeatedly, some even throwing away their weapons and turning to flee.

"Stop!" the black-armored general in the center army roared, "Whoever dares to take a step back will be executed on the spot!"

He stared fixedly at Chen Wuwang in the pit, his voice trembling: "You... what kind of method is this?!"

Chen Wuwang slowly drew his laser sword, the blade fully deployed; the three-meter-long beam of light was like a bright moon in the night, illuminating half the sky.

He finally spoke, his voice low but each word like thunder: "You should not have come."

Before the words had faded, he had already shot into the sky!

The thrusters on the back of his battle armor roared to life, blue flames jetting out as he traced an arc in the air, diving straight toward the densest part of the enemy troops.

The Mechanical Prosthetic Eye instantly locked onto the target area, data streams refreshing at high speed.

"Wide-Area Elimination Mode—Initiated!"

The laser sword vibrated at high frequency, the blade splitting into three intersecting sword waves, spreading out in a web pattern and covering a three-hundred-meter sector!

"Not good! Scatter—!" someone yelled.

It was too late.

The three sword waves fell like an inescapable net, the shield formation instantly disintegrated, and armor was sliced through like paper.

Over three hundred elite fighters were all struck, their bodies uncontrollably flying backward over ten zhang, smashing heavily into the mud, vomiting blood, limbs twitching, yet still alive—living in boundless pain.

"Ah—my bones! They're all shattered!"

"Can't be saved... can't be saved..."

"I don't want to die... I don't want to die—!"

The wailing connected into one, spreading like a plague.

The rear soldiers could no longer hold on, starting to retreat spontaneously, some even dropping their weapons and kneeling to beg for mercy.

"Head of the Chen Family! Spare us! We were forced!"

"We don't want to fight! We are a small clan, we can't withstand the pressure!"

The central army general was trembling with rage: "Trash! All of you, charge! Whoever retreats, I will kill him with my own hands!"

He slammed his hand onto the Psionic Cannon vehicle: "Is the charging finished yet?!"

The gunner reported with trembling: "Still... still twenty seconds left... the core is overheating, the cooling System has failed, the part numbered CJ-7... seems to have been tampered with..."

"Shut up!" the general roared, his face changing drastically.

Chen Wuwang had already landed.

He touched one knee to the ground, the tip of his sword inserted into the mud, his left hand pressing against the ground.

"Psionic Resonance—Trigger!"

Rumble!

A giant rune array suddenly emerged on the ground, green light spreading rapidly like veins, instantly covering the entire front of the battlefield.

Following that, a low, thunderous declaration echoed across the entire scene:

"Here—halt!"

The sound waves carried Spiritual Pressure, sweeping out like a tsunami.

All the rebel soldiers' eardrums burst, their minds shook, their knees went weak, and they all knelt down in unison.

Even that central army general was shocked off his horse, kneeling on one knee, gritting his teeth hard, veins bulging on his forehead, but he could no longer stand up.

Chen Wuwang slowly rose, his battle armor unscathed, the laser sword still burning with a scorching white light.

He walked forward step by step; each step he took caused the ground to crack.

"You thought that by gathering a bunch of rabble, you could overthrow the Chen Family?" he said coldly, "You didn't even know how my defense System operated, yet you dared to make a move?"

In front, a sword-wielding Cultivator suddenly erupted, rushing over with a roar: "Go to hell! Heretic!"

Chen Wuwang didn't even turn his head, sweeping his sword backhanded.

The blade of light flashed, and that person, along with the sword, was cut in two, the corpse flying ten meters away.

Another person shot three Spirit-Breaking Arrows from the flank, the arrowheads shimmering with a deep blue poisonous light.

Chen Wuwang spun his body, the laser sword defending in a ring, a circle of pulsed energy waves rippling out, instantly vaporizing the three arrows, leaving not even ash behind.

"Who else?" he stopped his steps, his gaze sweeping across the entire field.

No one answered.

Only wailing, crying, and gasping.

The central army general struggled to raise his head, his eyes full of unwillingness and fear: "You... you are not human at all... you are a monster..."

Chen Wuwang walked in front of him, looking down at him from a high position: "I am not a monster. I am just—the one who understood this world before you."

He raised his sword, the tip pressing against the opponent's throat.

"Tell me, who gave you the map? Who told you that there is a weakness under the Chen Family's Main Peak?"

The general gritted his teeth and remained silent.

Chen Wuwang sneered: "Not talking? That's fine too."

He pressed the sword tip slightly, a wisp of Sword Qi piercing into the opponent's neck, and that person was instantly paralyzed throughout his body, unable to move.

"I will spare your life," Chen Wuwang said indifferently, "and let you watch with your own eyes how your so-called 'Blade of Reform' is crushed into dust."

He withdrew his sword, turned around, and faced the chaotic enemy troops.

"Now—listen well." His voice was not loud, but it spread across the entire battlefield, "Those who want to live, drop your weapons and kneel on the spot. Those who want to die, feel free to charge up."

Silence.

Then, the first blade hit the ground.

Clang.

The second, the third...

More and more weapons were thrown on the ground, the rebel soldiers knelt down one by one, heads bowed, not daring to look at him.

Chen Wuwang stood in the center of the battlefield, his battle armor not yet removed, his laser sword not yet put away, his figure standing tall like a mountain.

The wind whipped up his clothes, the bloodstains on the battle armor not yet dry.

In the distance, the horizon had already begun to show a hint of white.

He did not move, nor did he speak, just standing quietly, as if waiting for someone.

Or perhaps, waiting for the next storm.
