341: Chapter 341 Magical Assistance Turns the Tide of Battle

The wind on the Northwest Wasteland, carrying the scent of blood and scorched earth, slammed against the city walls.

The echoes of the intense battle with Blood Butcher had not yet faded, and the air was thick with tension and a murderous aura. Although the standoff between Chen Xiaodao and Blood Butcher had temporarily paused, the crisis remained unresolved.

Chen Xiaodao stood on a pile of rubble, his sword tip resting on the ground, panting like a horse that had snapped its reins. His old wound on his right shoulder had reopened, soaking the sword hilt, but his eyes remained bright, locked intently on the gray-robed figure at the edge of the rift valley.

Blood Butcher struggled to his feet, his left arm hanging limp. The scar tissue on his face twitched, but the corners of his mouth curled into a grin: "Daring to be proud after cutting down a few snakes? You little bastard, you haven't even forced out thirty percent of my strength!"

Before the words had even faded, he slammed his left palm onto the ground!

"Boom!"

Dozens of cracks exploded open on the ground, and crimson blood snakes emerged once more, thicker, faster, and more numerous than before. They surged forward like a tide, swarming directly toward Chen Xiaodao's face!

Chen Xiaodao gritted his teeth and raised his sword, sweeping out with a "Meteor Sword Intent"—

"Shing!"

Seven blood snakes were severed instantly, but his movements faltered as the wound on his right shoulder tore open completely from the exertion, sending blood spraying out.

In that split second of hesitation, three blood snakes on his left broke through his defenses, baring their fangs as they lunged straight for his face!

"Xiao Dao! Duck!"

A clear female voice rang out from the top of the city wall!

Immediately following, with three muffled thuds of "Bang! Bang! Bang!", three translucent ice walls rose from the ground, inserting themselves into the battlefield in a triangular formation, precisely blocking the path of the blood snakes.

The snake heads slammed into the solid ice and burst on the spot, splattering blood everywhere.

Chen Xiaodao stumbled back two steps and wiped his face, which was covered in blood and sweat.

He looked up at the high city wall, where Bai Ling was standing by the battlements, her silver hair fluttering without a breeze, and a faint blue light glowing at her fingertips.

"Thanks," he murmured, his voice hoarse.

"Don't talk, save your energy," Bai Ling said without turning around, her tone urgent. "He's coming again."

Sure enough, he formed a seal with his left hand, and the remaining blood snakes suddenly underwent Fusion, transforming into a blood python a zhang long. It was entirely crimson, spewing corrosive mist from its mouth as it charged straight at the ice walls!

"Sizzle!"

The corrosive mist sprayed onto the ice, immediately sending up white smoke as the ice layer melted at a rate visible to the naked eye.

"Hold on... hold on for me!" Bai Ling gritted her teeth and pushed both hands forward, shooting a beam of blue light from her fingertips into the ice walls. "Breath of the Forest, Condense Frost into a Shield—Ice Rampart: Eternal Fortification!"

In an instant, fine, crystalline runes appeared on the surface of the ice walls, their resistance to corrosion increasing sharply. The blood python slammed into them violently, only causing a few cracks to form without breaking the defense.

"Hmph." Bai Ling let out a soft breath, beads of sweat already seeping from her forehead.

She quickly turned her palms, raised them toward the sky, and an emerald leaf seal appeared in her palm. She chanted softly: "Moonlight Shines on the Forest Treetops, Spirit Returns to the Origin—Chant of Radiant Healing!"

A soft green light cascaded down like a drizzle, striking Chen Xiaodao's body.

He shuddered, his breathing immediately becoming smoother. The wound on his shoulder stopped bleeding, and his muscles twitched slightly as they actually began to heal slowly.

"This feeling..." He clenched his fist, his Battle Intent reigniting in his eyes, "It's like drinking ten bowls of Qi-restoring soup."

"Less talking," Bai Ling panted, "He's going to risk it all."

Just as she finished speaking, Blood Butcher's eyes suddenly turned crimson, and his Dantian swelled. He was clearly forcibly mobilizing his remaining blood to detonate the last three lurking blood snakes, intending to take them down with him!

"Damn it!" Chen Xiaodao's pupils constricted. He wanted to rush forward to stop him, but the distance was too great; it was simply too late.

Just at this critical moment—

"Law of Sealing Meridians!"

Bai Ling let out a low cry and flipped the leaf seal in her hand. A pale golden ring of light flew from her hand, instantly enveloping Blood Butcher within a three-foot radius!

Blood Butcher's movements suddenly stiffened, the flow of blood within his body seemingly frozen, and the circulation of his Spiritual Qi became sluggish and difficult to move, bringing his detonation attempt to an abrupt halt.

"What the hell is this?!" He roared, struggling desperately, but the golden ring of light was like a maggot on the bone, firmly locking down his Qi, blood, and meridians.

"Now!" Chen Xiaodao bellowed, pushing off with his feet. His entire body shot out like an arrow from a bowstring, and his sword light flared once more!

"Years ago you slaughtered my village; today, I am settling this debt!"

The sword blade sliced through the air, carrying three years of pent-up hatred, striking directly at the blood python's seven-inch mark!

"Crack!"

With a sharp snap, the giant python's spine shattered. It collapsed to the ground with a mournful cry, corrosive blood spraying everywhere.

Chen Xiaodao hadn't even steadied himself after landing before he immediately turned, dragging his sword tip along the ground with sparks flying, approaching Blood Butcher step by step.

Blood Butcher collapsed on the ground, panting heavily. Although the fierce light in his eyes hadn't dissipated, his body no longer had the strength to fight.

"You... you all..." He glared at Chen Xiaodao, then looked up at Bai Ling on the city wall. "One relies on a sword, the other on spells... what kind of skill is that!"

"Skill?" Chen Xiaodao sneered. "Anything that can take you down is a skill."

He raised his longsword, the tip pointing directly at the other man's throat.

"I won't kill you," he said. "I want you to go back alive and tell the Blood Demon Sect—the Chen family is not to be trifled with."

Blood Butcher gritted his teeth, wanting to say something else, but his internal Qi and blood were suppressed by the golden ring of light, and he could barely even stand.

On the city wall, Chen Wuwang had been watching everything in silence.

He rested his hands on the tactical control console, his Mechanical Prosthetic Eye flashing with blue light as data streams scrolled continuously. His fingers tapped the console unconsciously, one beat after another.

He did not move.

But everyone knew that he could move at any moment.

As long as the battlefield situation deteriorated even a fraction more, the "eye of wuwang" hidden in the heart of the tower would ascend, and the entire wasteland would be turned into a purgatory.

But now—it was not necessary.

Bai Ling knelt halfway by the battlements, cold sweat streaming down her forehead, her hands trembling slightly; maintaining the sealing ring on Blood Butcher was already her limit. Her lips were pale, her breathing ragged, but her gaze remained steadfast.

"How much longer can you hold on?" Chen Wuwang's voice suddenly sounded, falling into her ears via a sound transmission talisman.

"Three... three minutes," she gritted her teeth. "Any longer, and I won't be able to hold it."

"That's enough," Chen Wuwang nodded. "You did well."

Bai Ling tugged at the corners of her mouth, wanting to smile, but she couldn't.

She just said softly: "As long as they are safe, that is enough."

Below, Chen Xiaodao had stepped forward, his sword light rising again; it was no longer defensive, but a full-scale advance.

He slashed his sword toward Blood Butcher's left shoulder, forcing him to dodge in a panic; then he swept his sword horizontally, forcing him to retreat.

The third strike was a feint, the fourth a thrust—Blood Butcher retreated repeatedly, his footsteps stumbling until he finally fell to the ground.

"Xiao Dao," Chen Wuwang's voice came again, "Leave him with a breath."

"Understood." Chen Xiaodao withdrew his sword and stepped back, his sword tip pointing to the ground as he looked at the other man coldly. "Get lost. Next time you come, don't let me see you again."

Blood Butcher lay on the ground, panting heavily. The fierce light in his eyes had not dissipated, but he no longer had the strength to fight.

He slowly raised his left hand and formed a blood seal; his figure gradually began to blur, clearly preparing to escape.

But the golden ring of light remained, suppressing every trace of his Spiritual Qi.

"Want to run?" Chen Xiaodao sneered. "When my Senior Brother arrives, you won't even be able to leave your bones behind."

"Senior Brother?" Blood Butcher coughed up a mouthful of black blood and grinned hideously. "Chen Wuwang? Heh... he doesn't dare to make a move. He's afraid of exposing that secret... that thing hidden in the tower..."

Chen Wuwang stood on the city wall, his pupils constricting slightly at these words.

But he still did not move.

Only the blue light of his Mechanical Prosthetic Eye suddenly grew brighter.

Bai Ling sensed the change and turned her head to look at him.

Chen Wuwang shook his head slightly at her.

She understood.

This was waiting.

Waiting for the most opportune moment.

Waiting for Blood Butcher to completely lower his guard, waiting for the moment he thought he had escaped alive—

That would be the beginning of the end.

The wind grew stronger.

Blowing through Chen Wuwang's long silver hair, making it whip and snap.

He stood on the high platform like a god of war about to awaken.

His fingers were still tapping.

Tap, tap, tap.

The rhythm was getting faster and faster.

Below the city, Blood Butcher's figure finally began to fade; his escape technique was about to be completed.

Chen Xiaodao gripped his sword tightly.

Bai Ling gritted her teeth, exerting the last ounce of her strength to maintain the golden ring of light.

And Chen Wuwang—

Finally slowly raised his right hand and pressed the red button on the control console.
