Chapter 22: Delightful Discovery Opening the windows and the door, a cool breeze blew in while the warm sunlight illuminated the room, dispelling the gloomy atmosphere. Feeling refreshed, Yao Zhi sat on the bed and put the wolf meat jerky for sale in the system shop.

She thought that the price would be low since the system shop also sold meat jerky. Unexpectedly, one jin of meat jerky could be sold for eight hundred points.

Unlike the auction, the price in the shop was fixed. Since she could earn a lot of points, she sold all the meat jerky and earned five thousand six hundred points.

Before she started wrapping the buns, she poured some water into the wok and placed a bamboo steamer on top of it. Afterward, she laid a piece of clean fabric inside the steamer to prevent the steamed buns from sticking to the steamer later.

While she wasn’t as skilled as an experienced chef, she had learned how to cook since young. Therefore, her cooking was better than most people’s.

As she waited for the water to boil, she cut the dough and used a rolling pin to flatten it. In a few minutes, the wrappers were ready. Since there was no spoon, she used chopsticks to put the fillings on the wrappers.

Soon after she finished wrapping all the buns, the water was ready. She quickly placed all the buns into the steamer and let them steam for twenty minutes.

In the meantime, she poured the boiling water from the pot into a small drinking vat and boiled another pot. Twenty minutes later, the steamed buns were ready. After Yao Zhi removed the firewood from the stove, she opened the lid and smiled.

The white, fluffy buns were so appetizing that she couldn’t help but salivate. Thinking about her hardworking husband, she took two steamed buns and let the rest cool down. She would send some steamed buns to her husband later.

At the same time, Wang Shen and her daughter-in-law learned the news about the attack on the border town when she returned from the field.

Holding her mother-in-law’s hand, Wang Wuniang said, "Mother, I want to go visit my husband."

Today, it only took her twenty minutes to reach the foot of the mountain. Since this was not the first time she came here, she didn’t feel as timid as before.

When she entered the mountain forest, the sun had already risen to three poles high, or in modern terms, it should be around eight o’clock in the morning. Without a clock or watch, it was hard for her to keep track of time.

As this thought flashed through her mind, Yao Zhi opened the system shop and went to the accessories section. She browsed for a moment before deciding to buy a simple watch with a leather strap.

The design was simple, without any pattern or gems. So, the price was cheap, only three hundred points. After she set the time, she stored it in the shop’s warehouse and continued walking into the forest.

Since the sun was bright today, the forest was not as dim as before. Not long after she entered, Yao Zhi saw a clump of shiitake mushrooms. Without wasting time, she quickly gathered those mushrooms.

Ten minutes later, the basket was full, and she had to store them in the shop’s warehouse. It took her more than half an hour to forage all the mature mushrooms and fill three baskets.

Afterward, she went deeper but chose another path today. She walked for a long time before finding another clump of mushrooms. But unlike before, her eyes lit up the moment she saw them.

"This place actually has Lingzhi!" she exclaimed in delight.
