Chapter 63: Surprise ( 2 ) In less than one minute, Yao Zhi saw several wound ointments with high ratings. Since she couldn’t browse for too long, she chose the one with the highest rating. The ointment cost her 2,000 points and was packed in a vessel made of jade.

When she was done paying, Yao Zhi took out the ointment from her system’s storage and closed the cabinet. She walked over and sat beside her husband.

Seeing the jar made of mutton jade, Fu Chen’an was surprised.

He thought that his wife was searching for a common wound ointment and never expected her to have something like this. Just the jar itself must have cost a lot of money, let alone the ointment stored inside.

Yao Zhi noticed his gaze and said, "I exchanged this ointment with wild mushrooms at the border market. I tried it before, and it works very well."

While she said this, she opened the lid and saw it was filled with cream-like ointment. The ointment was pearly white with a hint of purplish color. She took a sniff and felt refreshed instantly.

Using the tip of her ring finger, Yao Zhi scooped a little and applied it to the scabbing wound. Soon after, she noticed the redness and swelling on the wound had lessened by half.

At the same time, Fu Chen’an only felt a cooling sensation when the ointment was applied. But soon after, he felt the area smeared with the ointment warming up.

He wanted to take a look, but with his wife’s head blocking his view, he couldn’t see what was going on.

Besides the chest and abdomen areas, Fu Chen’an also suffered wounds on his back. When Yao Zhi saw his back, she couldn’t help but take a sharp breath.

Compared to his front, his back was covered with more scars, and there was even a deep, long gash from his left shoulder blade down to his right waist. There was a layer of brown ointment on top of the still bleeding wound.

Fu Chen’an noticed that his wife was not moving and thought that she was scared. He wanted to pull up his clothes, but his hand was held by hers.

"Stop moving around," Yao Zhi said in a low voice.

She didn’t have a first aid kit, so she quickly opened the system’s shop and bought an alcohol swab to clean his wound.

The box of cotton swabs cost her one point and had a total of one hundred pieces. Besides that, she also bought a box of gauze, costing her another one point, with a total of twelve rolls inside.

After buying the items, she went to the cabinet and used it as a cover to take the items out of her system’s storage.

She then used the cotton swab to clean the wound before she applied the wound ointment. After she was done, she wrapped the wound using the gauze.

Fu Chen’an looked at the gauze and noticed that he had never seen the material. Usually, the physician would use coarse fabric to wrap the wound. As long as it could absorb blood, keep dirt away, and was clean, any fabric could be used.

Feeling curious, he reached out to touch the gauze. This thing must be expensive. Not only is it soft, but it’s also breathable. If the army were able to get this, the number of soldiers who died from infection would be less, he thought inwardly.

Not knowing that her husband was interested in the gauze, Yao Zhi said, "It’s done. I will change the dressing again tonight. Make sure to avoid water until your wound is scabbing."

Fu Chen’an nodded and put on his clothes.

Yao Zhi stored the alcohol swab in her system’s storage before she stored the wound ointment and the gauze in the cabinet. "I will boil some water for you to wash up," she said before she left the room.

While she was boiling the water, she added a drop of spiritual spring into the water. When she was done, she poured the water into a wooden bucket.

Before she could carry the bucket, a hand took it first. Raising her head, she saw her husband looking at her. "It’s heavy, let me do it."

Since he had said so, Yao Zhi didn’t refuse and followed him back to the room, holding a wooden basin. Inside the room, she took out a towel from a wooden box and said, "Husband, you can use this."

Fu Chen’an nodded and went to get a basket of well water. Afterward, he poured some hot water into the basin and added the well water. Then, he took off his clothes and started wiping his body.

While he was cleaning himself, Yao Zhi turned around and faced the wall. She could hear the sound of water and thought about her husband’s muscles.

Suddenly, she slapped her cheeks and muttered softly, "Yao Zhi, stop thinking about that!"

To distract herself, she opened the system’s shop and chose the men’s clothes section. She didn’t want her husband to be suspicious, so she skipped the modern-style undergarments and went to the ancient-style section.

She browsed for a moment and decided on undergarments made of Modal with a blend of spandex for stretch.

Each set consisted of a pair of pants and a top. She checked the price, and it cost her two points. Compared to her underwear, this one was cheaper. So, she bought five sets at once.

Besides the underwear, she also bought three sets of men’s clothes in traditional style.

The clothes were made of ramie, which was durable, breathable, and provided a cool and comfortable feel. Although ramie had a slightly rough texture, with the cotton underwear, it wouldn’t be a problem. Each set of clothes costs her 50 points.

When she glanced at her husband’s legs, she noticed that his shoes had long worn out.

Seeing this, she bought a pair of cloth shoes for him, costing her another 50 points. She didn’t know his exact size, but judging from his height and the size of his shoes, she chose a bigger one for him.
