She placed the packages on the nearest table and continued, "I was busy with the grain transportation and only able to visit today. Also, I bought some breakfast on my way. Let’s have breakfast first before we go to the warehouse."

When they heard her words, everyone felt more embarrassed for thinking negatively about her.

Yao Zhi noticed their awkwardness, but she didn’t plan to dig deeper into this matter and pretend to know nothing.

After taking a seat, she poured a cup of water for herself and opened the packages. Soon after, the fragrance of steamed buns, braised meat, pickled vegetables, and sweet pastries filled the air.

Seeing that they didn’t move, Yao Zhi asked with doubt, "Are these foods not to everyone’s liking?"

The moment they heard this, they quickly shook their heads while Da Zhu replied, "Young Master Lei, these foods are very good."

Following his words, everyone praised her generosity and the delicious food. It took them twenty minutes to finish breakfast and pack up their belongings.

After they loaded everything into the carts, Yao Zhi turned to Luo Bo and said, "Master Luo, today will be the last time I send grain to the General Mansion. When we finish this matter, we can calculate the wages."

Hearing this, Luo Bo nodded and replied, "We will follow the Young Master’s arrangement."

"Good," she nodded with satisfaction.

This time, Yao Zhi and the escort team not only drove the cart owned by the escort agency but also the carts they previously borrowed from the General Mansion.

When they reached the warehouse, Yao Zhi unlocked the doors and said, "Everyone, we will load the grains onto the carts. Remember to transport those grains in the left and right buildings first."

At first, the escort team thought that the amount of grain would be as much as before. But when they saw the warehouse filled to the brim, they could not help but take a sharp breath.

It took them forty minutes to load the carts fully. When they were done, Luo Bo arranged fifteen people to guard the warehouse while he and the rest of his brothers escorted Yao Zhi to the General’s mansion.

Since it was still early, the road was deserted, and they reached their destination before noon. While they parked the carts, the guards noticed them.

This was the second time they had come to visit, and Steward Han had reminded the guards to report as soon as Yao Zhi and her bodyguards arrived. Therefore, one of the guards quickly went to report this matter, while another guard walked over.

Seeing the carts full of grains, the guard cupped his fists and greeted them warmly. "Young Master, you are finally here. Madam has been waiting for you for the past few days."

Yao Zhi climbed down from the cart with Da Zhu’s help and returned the greetings. "Brother, I had an urgent business these past few days, so I only came to visit today."

The guard smiled when he heard this. He exchanged only a few polite words and had no intention of prying into her private matters.

While the guard arranged more people to help guard the carts, Steward Han had already received the news and went to find Xue Ya’er.
