151: Chapter 151 The Second Island Man

Brother Bao used the tip of his foot to tap a small island circled in red ink on the nautical chart.

"The lair of that black dragon is right here. According to intelligence our brothers paid for with their lives, it leaves its nest to hunt in the sea once every six hours for about an hour each time."

"This is our chance."

"What about the manpower?" Song Yang asked.

"Including you, there are seventeen of us in total."

Brother Bao patted his chest with a proud look. "Me, Koizumi Ichiro, and nine other brothers are all Evolvers. The rest are responsible for providing support and helping us get onto the island."

Hearing Koizumi Ichiro's name, Song Yang instinctively cast his gaze toward the man from the island nation holding a blade in the corner.

The contours of this man's brows and eyes did indeed bear some resemblance to the fellow he had dealt with before, but the cold, murderous aura emanating from his entire body was much more intense.

Seemingly sensing Song Yang's gaze, Koizumi Ichiro tilted his head and met Song Yang's eyes across the flickering firelight.

Cold and indifferent.

"My plan is simple!"

Brother Bao's loud voice drowned out all other sounds in the cabin.

"We'll take speedboats to the island, then split into three groups and fan out to search! That island isn't big; we can scour the whole place in half an hour at most."

"Whoever finds the dragon's lair first, don't hesitate—fire a signal flare into the sky immediately!"

"At that time, everyone will gather and protect the brother who got the dragon egg as we fight our way out!"

"Once we're back on the ship, we'll split this egg equally!"

After Brother Bao finished speaking, he looked around triumphantly, believing his plan was perfect.

Inside the cabin, the other men also grew restless, each rubbing their hands as if the dragon egg was already in their grasp.

Only Song Yang waited until everyone had quieted down before speaking.

"The plan is decent, it's just that quite a few people will die when the time comes."

As soon as these words were spoken, the cabin fell into a dead silence.

The smile on Brother Bao's face froze. He narrowed his eyes. "Boss Song, what do you mean?"

"I don't mean anything by it."

Song Yang's gaze swept over the nautical chart. "Splitting into three groups sounds efficient, but it also thins out our limited manpower."

"Is the island really just a smooth path aside from that black dragon?"

"If you run into a pack of mutated sea beasts, any of your teams could be swallowed whole immediately."

He paused, then looked at the flare gun in Brother Bao's hand.

"As for this signal flare, yes, we will be able to see it."

"But guess what? Will that black dragon out hunting also see it?"

"Will it think someone is raiding its home and then rush back at top speed?"

"At that point, what we'll be facing is a completely enraged black dragon and a whole island full of beast swarms."

Hearing this, Brother Bao's face turned pale and then flushed. He wanted to retort, but found he couldn't say a single word.

He hadn't considered these details at all.

"Then what should we do?"

Brother Bao swallowed hard and asked humbly.

"Landing on the island in batches is correct; it can spread out the potential risks in the sea."

Song Yang pointed at the nautical chart. "But once we're on the island, we must gather first."

"That black dragon is said to be over a hundred meters long. Its lair can't be hidden in some nook or cranny; it will definitely be the most conspicuous place on the island."

"After we gather, we move together with a clear objective to find the dragon's lair as quickly as possible."

"And then what once we find it?"

A man as skinny as a monkey couldn't help but ask. "Won't we still have to face those monsters?"

"Once we find it, that's when we need a division of labor."

Song Yang turned his gaze to the ordinary crew members holding rifles. "At that time, we'll need some people to make noise around the perimeter of the dragon's lair to lure away the mutated monsters entrenched nearby, creating a brief window for us."

"The others will take the opportunity to slip into the dragon's lair. After getting the dragon egg, retreat immediately. The people luring the monsters will also pull back simultaneously, and we'll meet at the agreed-upon location to board the ship."

After Song Yang finished speaking, the entire cabin fell into silence.

They were all people struggling to survive in the apocalypse; they weren't fools. They knew which plan had a higher survival rate.

Brother Bao stared at the nautical chart, his mind racing as he compared Song Yang's plan with his own.

The more he thought about it, the more cold sweat broke out on his back.

"Fine!"

Brother Bao slapped his thigh hard, as if he had made a firm decision. "We'll do as you say!"

He looked around at his subordinates, reassuming his posture as the leader, and roared:

"What the hell are you all standing around for? Get moving! Check your equipment and get those speedboats in the water for me!"

Once the order was given, the cabin immediately returned to a noisy state.

People began checking weapons and ammunition, and moving gas cylinders and ropes.

Soon, three black speedboats were lowered into the ink-like seawater.

"Mr. Song, come on the same boat as us."

The Man with Glasses approached again, his attitude even more respectful than before.

Song Yang nodded and followed Koizumi Ichiro and three other Evolvers onto the largest speedboat in the middle.

As the motor let out a low roar, the three speedboats staggered their positions and charged toward the barely discernible direction.

The cold wind, mixed with salty and damp moisture, whipped against their faces like knives.

The sea was an endless stretch of darkness, with no stars, moon, or lighthouse.

Only the two weak searchlight beams at the front of the speedboat could illuminate about ten meters ahead; more unknowns lurked in the bottomless gloom.

Song Yang sat by the gunwale, one hand gripping the cold railing. He could feel the small boat rising and falling in the waves, as if it could be swallowed by some underwater behemoth at any moment.

Of course, if such a thing really appeared, he could take to the air and leave at any time.

As for the others on the boat, he didn't care.

"Mr. Song."

Movement beside him made Song Yang turn his head.

Koizumi Ichiro had moved over at some point and sat right next to him.

"I get the feeling you seem to have some prejudice against us people from the island nation?"

He handed over a cigarette, which Song Yang waved away.

Song Yang's gaze did not leave the distant darkness, his tone as flat as if he were discussing the weather.

"I do."

"And it's quite significant."

The air seemed to freeze for a second.

The other three Evolvers on the speedboat all turned their heads with expressions as if watching a show.

Koizumi Ichiro, however, acted as if he didn't hear the undisguised ill will. He lit a cigarette for himself, took a deep drag, and the exhaled smoke was quickly dispersed by the sea breeze.

"I admit."

He smiled, revealing two rows of yellowed teeth. "There were indeed many unpleasant things that happened between our ancestors. History cannot be changed, but we live in the present, don't we?"

His words were perfectly composed, both acknowledging the past and pulling the conversation back to the stance of cooperation.

Song Yang ignored him.

Seeing no reaction, Koizumi Ichiro flicked some ash and asked as if making small talk:

"Speaking of which, Mr. Song, have you ever met a man named Koizumi Jiro?"

"He was my good-for-nothing younger brother. Someone smashed his head in, and he died without a whole corpse."

Once this question was asked, the attention of everyone on the speedboat focused on the two of them.

In their view, this was just a casual question; in the vast sea of people, the answer was almost certainly no.

However, Song Yang slowly turned his head.

There was no impatience on his face; even the corners of his mouth curled up into a smile.

He looked directly into Koizumi Ichiro's eyes and said word by word:

"I know him."

The smile on Koizumi Ichiro's face solidified.

"Not only do I know him."

Song Yang's smile became even more pronounced, and he spoke in a tone as if sharing a secret:

"I also personally used a fire axe to chop off his head, one blow at a time."

"The bones in that guy's neck were really hard."

"Later, I fed that head to wild dogs. They ate it with great relish and were absolutely delighted."
