259: Stone Plate

Inside Passage 78, a figure was moving forward at a leisurely pace; this person was none other than Chen Du.

Judging from the intelligence obtained from Shi Dingtian, there was no longer any exploration value here, so Chen Du was not in a hurry to rush, prioritizing the conservation of his stamina instead.

As Chen Du walked, he pondered, combining his own knowledge with Shi Dingtian's words to roughly summarize Sifang Cave.

Sifang Cave had existed for a very long time, at the very least a product from the same period as the three former Overlord-level Civilizations.

Additionally, the Big Eye Civilization were lifeforms from Mercury; although it was within the territory of the Big Eye Civilization, Sifang Cave did not necessarily belong to Mercury.

It might have come from another planet, or perhaps it was a new terrain and landscape created later by the collision of the Nine Planets.

After all, that was during the period of the Great Migration of Life, and the Land of Abandoned Armor where the High Martial Civilization was currently located was not the original Earth either.

The only thing that could be certain now was that Sifang Cave truly resembled an emptied house that had become a trial ground for a Great Civilization.

And the Small Civilizations that entered were limited to four types.

The first type: those who obtained the map for the first time and came in looking for resources; the High Martial Civilization belonged to this type.

The second type: those who entered by mistake and, due to strange rule restrictions, mistakenly thought there was some Heaven-Defying Opportunity inside.

The third type: those like Shi Dingtian. They belonged to those who discovered Sifang Cave relatively early and determined that there was nothing of value here; their goal was very pure, which was to enter Qilin Cave for so-called Aptitude improvement.

The fourth type: also the boldest ones, who wanted to use the alien Geniuses of a Great Civilization as whetstones to improve themselves. Only the most outstanding Geniuses within a Small Civilization would have such thoughts and courage for this kind of thing.

Chen Du believed the above content because it belonged to danger warnings, which was information beneficial to him.

The only thing that could pose a danger to Chen Du was that Qilin Cave; the other party might have lied about some of the content within it.

But judging from the final result of the golden light illumination, this possibility was likely not high.

Now, Chen Du no longer expected to see anything at that stone disk location; it was mostly likely empty. He now wanted to find another alien and see if he could ask about a fifth possibility.

When buying things, one must compare three shops; how much more so for such important information? Having testimonies from a few more people would make it appear more authentic and comprehensive.

If he couldn't ask anything new, he would just have to go to Qilin Cave and take a look.

Passage 78 and the 10,000-meter passage at the entrance looked almost identical in appearance, only the length far exceeded 10,000 meters.

Chen Du did not use his wristband to measure exactly how much it was, but after advancing for about 15 hours, he finally arrived at the exit.

What entered his view was another row of passages. Chen Du counted from left to right; this time there were only 77. According to the map in his hand, he chose Passage 56 this time.

This leg of the journey was much longer than the previous one. Chen Du advanced for nearly 22 hours, and that was even under the premise of moving at a faster speed. Just like that, Chen Du arrived at a new fork in the road again.

This time there were 202 choices. Chen Du followed the map and chose Passage 108, which was also the last passage on the map.

This passage was also the longest. It took Chen Du a full 24 hours to come out. Although moving at full speed could at least shorten the time by more than five times, that would consume too much stamina.

Although the recovery speed of the Six Mystic Treasures was fast, it could not compare to the consumption of moving at full speed.

"There actually is one!"

As soon as Chen Du came out, he saw a large stone disk in front of him; this scene clearly exceeded his expectations.

According to Shi Dingtian, these things were the so-called resources and should have long been emptied by others, yet the stone disk here was actually still there.

Did Shi Dingtian lie to him?

Chen Du thought it probably wasn't; after all, he would definitely come to verify it. Now it could only prove that the places he had been to were too few.

Although their Stone Man Civilization entered early, they probably hadn't been to many places.

Chen Du thought about it a little carefully and understood.

The routes within Sifang Cave were quite long. If one wanted to conduct relatively long-distance exploration, one had to move a lot. During this movement process, the probability of encountering other aliens would also greatly increase.

Then, relatively speaking, the probability of death would also greatly increase, and a vicious cycle would appear here.

The probability of someone who obtained as much information as possible surviving and getting out was very low.

And for those with a high probability of surviving and getting out, it was impossible for them to have traversed too many routes; they could only walk some that had been walked by predecessors, and even if they were ones walked by predecessors, there was still a possibility of encountering other aliens.

Because of the rules, only one person could enter. If that person died, the information they obtained would naturally not be able to be passed out.

And although the Stone Man Civilization behind Shi Dingtian was a top-tier civilization, it was still, after all, at the level of a Small Civilization. Plus, knowing that this was a trial ground for a Great Civilization, they dared not go everywhere even more.

Not to mention that it had now developed into only walking one route.

As for what he said about obtaining information from the mouths of other civilizations, this information was either exchanged equally between two civilizations or obtained by force, just like Chen Du.

This proved that this so-called other civilization had strength less than or equal to the Stone Man Civilization, and the information they knew was inevitably very limited.

After entering, Chen Du did not immediately go to look at the stone disk placed on the Surface, but instead first looked around. This was a habit of Chen Du's: look at the big things first, then the small ones.

This time, there was no row of branching passages in front of him, but only one passage.

Chen Du understood that this was what Shi Dingtian said: the 10,000-meter entrance/exit!

In other words, the end of the passage ahead was the territory of another civilization!

As for whether it was the kind found in the wilderness like the one on the High Martial Civilization's side, or the kind like Shi Dingtian's Stone Man Civilization that was directly in their base camp, that was unknown.

Based on existing intelligence, Chen Du determined two routes.

The first: enter from the entrance discovered by the High Martial Civilization, first pass through Passage 56, then pass through Passage 38, and finally pass through Passage 103, and one would arrive at the Stone Man Civilization where Shi Dingtian was located.

This should be correct; the other party even specifically said that their Sifang Cave entrance was within their base camp.

The second was the one he had just walked: first enter Passage 78, then enter Passage 56, and finally enter Passage 108.

These two routes had one common point, which was that the distance from one entrance/exit to another entrance/exit required passing through 3 passages.

But it should not be that all maps were like this. The reason Shi Dingtian did not mention this was probably because he felt it was very normal.

Perhaps other maps did not have three; maybe some had four, some had five.

There was no pattern to it, just like naturally formed roads, with some long and some short.

Besides confirming that this was the entrance/exit of an unknown civilization, the only thing remaining was the large stone disk in front of him, and Chen Du immediately began to observe it.

The large stone disk was not very big, about the size of a circle formed by 5 people, and half a meter high. Although it was white all over, it didn't look clean, like a piece of white jade full of Impurities.

The overall shape of the stone disk was like a car tire lying flat on the Surface, with a clover-like pattern in the middle; the four rectangular leaves were each separated by 90 degrees, very regular.

Out of caution, Chen Du did not touch it directly, but instead went around it and observed it for a full circle.

Afterwards, he took out his long sword and tapped and slashed at it. The texture that came back didn't feel like stone, nor like steel or anything similar; he could only confirm that it was hard.

Moreover, the material was extraordinary; Chen Du's attacks didn't even leave a single scratch. This alone showed the extraordinary nature of this white jade stone disk.

"Strange?"

"From a probability perspective, any location should have had aliens visit, yet this thing is still here?"

"Could it be that it can't be moved?"

After Chen Du finished muttering to himself, he immediately lay on the Surface to confirm and discovered that the stone disk had no connection point with the ground.

This made Chen Du feel a bit strange for a moment, just as he was preparing to try whether he could lift this stone disk.

Suddenly, he sensed that within the passage at the 10,000-meter entrance/exit ahead, a lifeform was approaching...
