541: Movement within the pale fog
Normally, as a Sky Soaring Warrior, even in a sleeping state, one can be prepared for anything and is difficult to ambush.
Although not as alert as when conscious, there is still a sense of vigilance.
But Chen Du is different; after he sleeps, he enters the Crystal Space.
In this situation, his body is without conscious guidance, effectively putting him in constant danger.
This is also why Chen Du always finds a safe spot before sleeping, but fortunately, with the Crystal Clone ability, Vice Chen Du can AFK grind monsters and improve his Martial Skill level within it.
This ability saved him a lot of time.
In the current situation, although the Thousand-Faced Tree, an alien race, was wrapped around his left arm, based on its earlier performance, this guy desperately wanted him to live and would not harm him.
With his eyes closed, Chen Du's consciousness once again arrived at the Six-Eyed Giant, which was unchanged from the beginning.
Chen Du, just like before, began his mental training; this was his most common method of sleep before his debuff package... Chen Du, sitting upright, suddenly opened his eyes.
With a feeling he hadn't experienced in a long time, he glanced at the time on his wristband.
A strange expression immediately appeared on his face.
"I actually fell asleep!"
A disbelieving voice came from his mouth, the surprise in his words no less than when he first saw the Black Dragon King's corpse.
Fell asleep?
Aren't you supposed to be sleeping?
The Thousand-Faced Tree muttered in its heart.
Chen Du was its lifeline at this moment; his action of driving away the Dragon Lice gave it a glimmer of hope of getting out alive.
Although it didn't understand Chen Du's words, it still reported truthfully:
"You slept for a total of 6 hours just now, and there were no unusual movements around during this time."
"If all goes as expected, it should be as I guessed; nothing will happen until the second day's sacrifice arrives."
"Did you discover something?"
"Nothing, I just had a strange dream."
Chen Du nodded, casually finding an excuse to brush it off; according to his smart wristband, six hours had indeed passed.
But the actual sleep time was four hours; the first two hours were spent training at the Six-Eyed Giant.
But that wasn't the point.
The point was that he had actually fallen asleep!
The kind where he didn't enter the Crystal Space.
Chen Du was very certain this was the first time he had slept like a normal person since he obtained the Crystal Space on the first day of high school!
This was too incredible.
Although Chen Du appeared normal on the surface, a storm was already brewing in his mind.
If he couldn't enter the Crystal Space, there were only two possibilities.
One, this place was too special and Sealed this ability of his.
Two, he was currently within the Crystal World itself!
Because he was within the Crystal World, he could no longer enter his own Crystal Space.
After all, according to Chen Du's room theory.
The Crystal Space is a corner of the Crystal World.
Since he had already entered the Crystal World, he naturally couldn't enter the Crystal Space again.
Even if this might be someone else's room, it was still a corner of the Crystal World.
The first possibility was almost non-existent, mainly due to the presence of the Pale Dense Fog; if the environment here wasn't like this, Chen Du might suspect if this place possessed some kind of blocking power.
But the second also couldn't be entirely correct, because he couldn't sense the presence or information of the Crystal Clone.
This point precisely negated his being in the Crystal World.
Chen Du felt that he was very close to the truth of what the Crystal Space truly was.
The Crystal Space, which came without any user manual from the very beginning, Chen Du believed he was close to understanding what it actually was after years of exploration.
The world within the Dragon Pearl confirmed the existence of the Crystal World for Chen Du, he just hadn't figured out its mechanism, which made him appear a bit flustered.
Chen Du believed that as his strength continued to improve, one day there would be a clear answer to this matter.
"Let's go inside and take a look."
Chen Du stood up and said indifferently.
"Inside?"
"Is there even an 'inside' or 'outside' here anymore?"
Just as the Thousand-Faced Tree was confused, Chen Du pointed his hand towards the Pale Dense Fog ahead.
"This..."
"There won't be any danger, will there?"
The walking grass that the Thousand-Faced Tree had transformed into trembled slightly, hesitating.
"You can stay here yourself; I'm just telling you, not forcing you to go."
After Chen Du finished speaking, he flicked his hand, tossing the Thousand-Faced Tree aside, and flew directly towards the Pale Dense Fog ahead.
According to the Thousand-Faced Tree's sacrifice explanation, no matter how this sacrifice time was calculated, he still had over 20 hours.
Apart from the Pale Dense Fog, there was almost no need to check any other places here.
Waiting for death was not Chen Du's character; he could survive this wave of Dragon Lice attacks, but that didn't mean he could survive the next wave of sacrifice.
The training within the Crystal Space made Chen Du understand that even when facing certain death, one must not give up the hope of living.
He still had too many things to do and absolutely could not die here!
"Brother, wait for me!"
"I didn't say I wasn't going!"
The Thousand-Faced Tree sprang up with a jump, once again wrapping around Chen Du's left arm.
Once Chen Du left, there would only be itself and the Black Dragon King's corpse here.
If those Dragon Lice came out now, it would surely die!
Although the Pale Dense Fog was strange, it was definitely much better than staying here.
And so, the two entered the Pale Dense Fog.
Chen Du didn't just enter randomly; he chose to enter in the direction he was spat out, planning to reverse-engineer the path.
Inside the Pale Dense Fog, it was still that same feeling; there was nothing but black.
Whether you could see or not, all you could perceive was black, as if you were in a Universe without a sun.
It was different from when he first entered; back then, after being sucked in, some force sent him outside the Pale Dense Fog.
Now, when he entered, there was no resistance, just like the feeling of entering the Crystal Space.
The only difference was that there were no monsters inside.
The distance or rather the thickness of the Pale Dense Fog wasn't very deep; Chen Du didn't fly for long before he reached the end.
This end was a solid object without any gaps or blind spots.
It was clear that this solid object was the Dragon Pearl's barrier; if Chen Du were to crash into it, he would probably be shattered into pieces.
The ying long sword had broken this way before.
Chen Du, like a blind man, fumbled around, but unfortunately found nothing.
But he didn't give up, changed direction, and continued to move forward in the Pale Dense Fog; after several laps of circling and touching, Chen Du had to admit.
There was nothing special inside.
No monsters, no so-called exit, and even the unexpected events he had hoped for didn't appear.
In summary, inside the Pale Dense Fog, there was nothing but black.
And so, Chen Du and the Thousand-Faced Tree returned to the skeleton.
It was also the same as when they left, without any changes.
This made Chen Du a little disappointed; sometimes, no surprises could be quite despairing.
At this point, roughly 24 hours had passed since the Dragon Lice attack.
The information provided by the Thousand-Faced Tree let Chen Du know that something should happen at this time; he held his breath and looked around, his face full of vigilance.
Boom... boom... an earthquake-like tremor suddenly appeared at this moment.
"Has the second wave of sacrifice arrived?"
Chen Du gripped his long sword, his expression extremely wary.
Most of his attention was focused on the Black Dragon King's corpse, but this time, the Black Dragon King's corpse showed no abnormalities, and the Dragon Lice didn't come out again.
Boom... boom... The increasingly strong tremors gradually led Chen Du to pinpoint the direction of their source.
He turned around, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes as he looked forward.
The source of these tremors was actually coming from inside the Pale Dense Fog he had just finished exploring!
Something was about to come out of it!
