406: Speculations about what no one knows

"Few?"

This word, as if enchanted, struck Chen Du's heart fiercely, instantly activating something and causing his thoughts to surge.

At this moment, Chen Du connected all the previously known pieces of information.

Wen Bo had said something earlier that Chen Du kept in mind: Ancient Beasts can live for a very long time.

This reminded Chen Du of a similar statement Cao Daba had made, though that was used to describe Natural Lifeforms.

Now, the word "few" made Chen Du focus all the known information about Ancient Beasts on Natural Lifeforms.

If the Glowing White Cat was a Natural Lifeform, then everything seemed to make sense.

According to known information, Natural Lifeforms are a type of natural phenomenon.

Isn't light a natural phenomenon?

Although this guess was not confirmed by anyone, the moment the idea appeared, Chen Du, acting on his sixth sense, determined that this guess was correct.

Now that he thought about it carefully, the Glowing White Cat's method of movement had been seen before!

Didn't Lu Li, from the Land of Finality, make his appearance in this very way?

A gust of wind blew, and Lu Li appeared; when he moved again, it was another gust of wind. Isn't this the same as the Glowing White Cat's movement method?

It was just that one was wind and the other was light.

The reason these two points hadn't been linked before was that creatures from the same Civilization should, in theory, all look similar.

Lu Li had a Humanoid life form appearance, while the Glowing White Cat was a four-legged beast. The two were completely different, with vastly disparate appearances.

This was also why Chen Du hadn't connected the two previously.

But the word "few" seemed to enlighten Chen Du, giving him a bold conjecture.

Is there a possibility that every Natural Lifeform looks different?

If so, if they didn't say anything, it would be truly difficult to know they belonged to the same Civilization.

Furthermore, there's another possibility: this so-called Shan Hai Civilization might have been a Civilization temporarily formed for some reason.

Perhaps it was to resist the invasion of Energy Lifeforms, or for something else.

The reason Chen Du thought of a temporary formation was because Wen Bo said their Botao Civilization had a connection with Ancient Beasts and regarded the Glowing White Cat as an auspicious omen.

Their relationship could be understood as being quite good.

In this situation, they still didn't know the name Shan Hai Civilization, but instead referred to the Glowing White Cat as an Ancient Beast.

This either means the Shan Hai Civilization has already disbanded, or the Glowing White Cat itself doesn't acknowledge belonging to this Civilization, or perhaps... it's related to the so-called Humanoid life form owner?

Chen Du quickly strung all these events together in his mind. This time, it wasn't random speculation; every piece of information connected. Chen Du believed that even if this wasn't the truth, it was close.

Although he still didn't know the specific details of the Glowing White Cat, the fundamental reason why the Shan Hai Civilization was forgotten or its Legacy wasn't passed down should be correct: their small number combined with their diverse appearances!

If each natural phenomenon could only give birth to a few, or even just one, Natural Lifeform, then their numbers would be incredibly small.

Wen Bo's word "few," for Chen Du, who had accumulated so much information, was like the final touch that brings a Dragon to life.

Chen Du couldn't be sure of anything else, but the Shan Hai Civilization, as one of the former four Overlord-level Civilizations, was only known by Cao Daba, an external Energy Lifeform. The reason for this was almost certainly their small number combined with their diverse appearances.

Only this could explain why the Great Civilizations didn't know about the Shan Hai Civilization.

Perhaps they were never truly one Civilization, but for some reason, these Natural Lifeforms temporarily united.

Regarding this reason, Chen Du had two guesses: first, the invasion of Energy Lifeforms and the resistance of indigenous life; second, the so-called owner.

However, Chen Du couldn't confirm whether this owner was the Glowing White Cat's owner or the Natural Lifeforms' owner.

Judging by the Glowing White Cat's strength, this owner, no matter which it was, was an extremely terrifying existence.

If it was the standard of a Humanoid life form, Chen Du couldn't find an answer.

Even the strongest Humanoid life form Alien Race on the Surface, which was the Giant Civilization at its Peak, probably couldn't meet the standard to be the Glowing White Cat's owner.

The Botao Civilization couldn't possibly be as clear about the situation on the Surface as he was; they probably still thought this owner was some terrifying Civilization on the Surface.

Could it be a Starry Sky Warrior?

Chen Du guessed.

"I'm leaving. Good luck with the remaining matches. If you learn any more information about Ancient Beasts later, feel free to come find me in the Botao Civilization."

Seeing that Chen Du didn't speak, Wen Bo greeted him and left.

Chen Du nodded but didn't reply.

Go find you in the Botao Civilization?

That's impossible.

Not to mention that he was about to leave the Underground, even if he wasn't, he wouldn't go to the Botao Civilization.

Earlier in the Question Chamber, Chen Du had asked about the Glowing White Cat, and the price was terrifyingly high.

Over so many years, the Botao Civilization must have asked the Prophet Alien Race this question, and they certainly knew much more about Ancient Beasts than he did.

Their words were just a precaution; if he ever truly learned something about Ancient Beasts that they didn't know, they could acquire it at a lower cost.

As for why they hadn't found the answer they wanted after so many years, either the Seer did not know the answer, or the price to pay was too great, so great that the entire Botao Civilization couldn't afford it, or it would severely cripple them.

Now, the biggest mystery about the Glowing White Cat was who its owner was.

However, even if the Seer knew this answer, Chen Du would still choose the blue crystal question, because who the other party's owner was had nothing to do with him, and that owner might even be long dead.

Knowing it wouldn't gain him anything; it was more important to focus on things related to himself.

Chen Du temporarily put this matter aside.

With Wen Bo's departure, the results of the other two matches came out shortly after.

Number 11 and Number 12 both failed their challenges.

Numbers 9 and 10 won, but both took a long time. Number 9 finished five seconds earlier than Number 10. Although they won, they might not necessarily advance to the top thousand.

Now, an Alien Race responsible for registering the arena duration was using a voice transmission stone to contact staff at other arenas.

The results came out quickly. The top ten of Chen Du's arena were quite good; all of the top 9 advanced to the top thousand.

Although Chen Du defeated Number 1 Wen Bo, this ranking was based on the duration of the match. He was ranked 5th in Arena Number 3.

He advanced without much trouble, but it was a pity for Number 10, who was ranked 1003rd in the top thousand.

Number 9 was ranked 999th; in just 5 seconds, there were 3 people in between.

The top thousand matches would begin a day later, and during this period, the Prophet Civilization would provide a dormitory free of charge.

To Chen Du's surprise, this so-called dormitory was actually a Gravity Mountain passage.

This meant that before the top thousand matches began, Chen Du could enjoy 24 hours of gravity training for free!
