683: Three questions

“I didn’t expect an Alien Race from the Surface like you to be interested in these two matters,” Qing Feng said with some surprise. After all, questions generally need to benefit oneself.

He truly couldn’t understand what benefit these two questions could bring Chen Du.

What could the War of Earthly Chaos have to do with him?

Qing Feng didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he looked at Chen Du carefully and proactively answered a doubt in Chen Du’s mind:

“Wu La, now that Prophet Civilization has been destroyed, I’ll just tell you the truth.

Since you’re saying these things to me, you must have noticed that when you returned to the Surface, Prophet Civilization didn’t stop you; they even helped you.”

“And the reason for helping you is simple: because you Awakened the Ten Secret Treasures, they hoped that in the future, you could stir up the pattern of those Great Civilizations on the Surface, thereby giving Prophet Civilization a chance to return to the Surface.”

Chen Du nodded, understanding why the Prophet Alien Race had helped him.

At this point, Qing Feng’s expression became a bit more serious:

“But I also said here, ‘they’ hoped that in the future, you could stir up the pattern of those Great Civilizations on the Surface. The ‘they’ here does not include me.”

“I, Qing Feng, and many other Prophet Alien Races who were newly born like me, actually all lean towards the civilization we were reborn into.”

“On one hand, we grew up there. On the other hand, we truly cannot go back to Prophet Civilization, nor is it suitable. That would expose the secret of rebirth.”

“This ability was originally sought for our survival; it cannot go against our wishes.”

“At most, we can help Prophet Civilization within our capabilities.”

Chen Du nodded again. He agreed with this point; Durags had been the same back then.

He wanted to occupy his body and then strengthen High Martial Civilization.

“The reason I’m telling you all this now is to say that I, Qing Feng, in essence and in my heart, am not truly a person of Prophet Civilization.”

“And our Green Bottle Civilization’s ambition isn’t that great; we just want to live well Underground. Personally, I have no aspirations for the Surface; it’s not suitable for me.”

“Therefore, if you intend to treat me as a Question Chamber for unlimited questions, I will not answer you.”

After speaking, Qing Feng extended his hand, making a gesture Chen Du didn’t understand.

“Three.”

“I can answer three questions for you for free.”

“This counts as fulfilling Prophet Civilization’s dying wish. As for your future development, personally, I don’t really care.”

“So, do you still insist on asking those two questions from earlier?”

“To be honest, the answers to those two questions won’t be of much help to you personally.”

Qing Feng advised kindly.

“I thought you came here to find clues about that mysterious Alien Race that destroyed the Prophet Circle.”

“I can tell you extra information about him later.”

Chen Du nodded.

“I still want to know the answers to those two questions.”

He indeed wanted Yao Wangjing’s information, but for him right now, it wasn’t important; even without it, it didn’t matter.

To him, Yao Wangjing was merely a product of the old era; he just needed to defeat him one more time.

And the other party’s goal was most likely the current Overlord-level Civilization, so Chen Du wouldn’t actively seek him out.

However, the other party would come to him sooner or later, so getting information in advance was naturally best.

Qing Feng doing this could only prove that Yao Wangjing was most likely no longer in the Underground, but that was also normal.

To be honest, Prophet Civilization knew too much, and its unique characteristic seemed to prevent Chen Du from directly pulling it into a Dream with a Dream Flower for infinite looping questions.

Although a Flame Flower might be able to burn away this characteristic, Prophet Civilization had helped him after all, and Chen Du didn’t want to risk doing that experiment.

He knew that if he really did that, he would offend all the newly born Prophet Alien Races. Heaven knew how many civilizations that was.

This would be creating enemies for himself and High Martial Civilization invisibly, which was completely unnecessary.

Moreover, although Prophet Civilization knew a lot of information, Chen Du was always most interested in only one thing.

That was information about the whereabouts of the blue crystal!

At that time, he had no chance to get that answer due to being unable to find information about the Black Dragon Creation Pool. Now was a good opportunity to use it for the third question.

As for the questions about the metal and the War of Earthly Chaos, they seemed unrelated to Chen Du, and in reality, they truly were unrelated to him.

But there weren’t many things directly related to Chen Du or High Martial Civilization. Where would a Small Civilization get so many issues?

These questions were related to the future, so Chen Du needed to know their answers. He had too many doubts in his heart, and these questions were like thorns, stuck in crucial positions, and had to be pulled out.

“That piece of metal was obtained from a place called the Catalysis Mine in the forbidden zone of the Primordial Mine,” Qing Feng said faintly, seeing that Chen Du still insisted on these two questions, naturally saying nothing more:

“I know you might ask why I could come out of the forbidden zone. I won’t trick you with a question; I’ll just tell you directly.”

“The dividing line between the forbidden zone and the outer zone of the Primordial Mine wasn’t always like that. The original scope of the forbidden zone wasn’t large, so although it was dangerous, it wasn’t well-known.”

“Very few Alien Races went there, and their disappearances didn’t cause any ripples.”

“And at that time, the Catalysis Mine was not within the forbidden zone’s scope, so we could leave.”

“The reason the forbidden zone later expanded was because a large explosion occurred, which was not long after we took that piece of metal.”

“As for why the large explosion occurred, and what inside was blown up causing the Mist of the forbidden zone to expand, it’s not that I’m unwilling to say, but that I don’t know either.”

“The piece of metal we brought out was extremely heavy. A piece the size of a fingernail weighed 100 million jin.”

“We didn’t go there to obtain this thing at the time, but to solve the Mist problem of the Primordial Mine.”

“Because of the Prophet Alien Race’s memory sharing, even if they were truly trapped inside or killed by something, they could still transmit information from inside through death.”

“We naturally weren’t that noble-minded. The reason for solving the Mist problem was that we felt there might be some treasure inside, and our knowledge should be enough to deal with it.”

“The result, as you know, was that we failed. The Mist problem was not solved, and after exhausting all our lifelong knowledge, we only brought out a small piece of metal from the Catalysis Mine.”

“This piece of metal was an unexpected surprise. We brought it back for research.”

“Because it was rare for something to appear that even our Prophet Civilization didn’t know, we were very curious about it.”

“This thing is indeed a bit mysterious. We used many methods and asked many people, but even now, we don’t know what it’s for.”

“After exhausting countless methods, we only learned its name.”

“Star Core.”
