123: Chapter 123 A Private Visit

"Boss Jiang, why are you here so early? Please come in, please come in."

Pang Dahai had a smiling expression, but in Jiang Tao's eyes, this was a facade hiding murderous intent—a classic smiling tiger.

"Boss Pang, you are too kind."

Following Pang Dahai into the room, they arrived at the office, where tea was served and they discussed serious business.

Jiang Tao spoke first to state his purpose, placing down the four briefcases full of cash.

"It was my ignorance; I find this money too hot to handle."

Pang Dahai didn't know why Jiang Tao was so panicked, but having been forewarned by Chen Hao, he had some idea and chatted casually.

"It's not me saying this, but shouldn't you be doing legitimate business? Why insist on loan sharking, doing heaven-defying business? You've been inside before; doing this now, are you afraid you don't know how to write the word 'death'?"

Jiang Tao wiped a cold sweat from his brow.

"Please show mercy; I offended you before."

Pang Dahai pushed the tea toward Jiang Tao.

"The person you offended is not me, but my brother. He is an old hand, experienced, and knows many people, from high officials and nobles down to peddlers and laborers. There is nothing in society he cannot handle. If you offend him, you won't even know how you died."

Pang Dahai originally intended to praise Chen Hao, deliberately exaggerating his abilities.

But what Jiang Tao heard was a warning, telling him to know his place and understand who he had offended.

"Yes, yes, yes, I understand. That's why I've come with sincerity to apologize and hope you can show mercy and let me off the hook. I guarantee from now on, I will turn over a new leaf, be a good person, and never cause trouble for society again."

Pang Dahai hadn't expected the famous Jiang Tao to be so receptive. But thinking about it, if Chen Hao could bring Jiang Tao to heel, it was also eliminating a cancer for society.

"It's not me saying this, but have you figured out this matter? Were you fooled by your subordinates?"

"Please enlighten me."

Pang Dahai explained the true situation in detail.

An employee went to collect a debt, used force because the debtor was good-looking, got beaten, and then you filed a complaint first.

Jiang Tao truly didn't know about this; his subordinates only reported that the debtor refused to pay and assaulted them.

As the boss, failing to investigate thoroughly, protecting his own people, and then counter-accusing—this is what angered this Group of people.

No wonder they resorted to illegal means to dig up all his background information, acting as if they wouldn't stop until one side was dead. He really was blind in his old age.

"Yes, yes, yes, it's all my fault for being blind and trusting the wrong people. I will definitely give you justice later."

Pang Dahai spoke again.

"Just handle it by the book; don't break the law, or I won't be able to protect you either."

His intention was good—to persuade someone toward righteousness—but what Jiang Tao heard was different: 'won't be able to protect him'—was this a threat to kill him?

He immediately stood up to show his loyalty.

"I'll go back and resolve this now. Wait for my news; I'll give you a reply tonight."

Pang Dahai waved his hand.

"You don't need to give me a reply; the person you offended isn't me."

He casually wrote down a contact method and handed it to Jiang Tao.

"Your subordinate made a mistake, and this is the victim. If you gain the victim's forgiveness, your crime will be lessened. You know what to do, right?"

Jiang Tao nodded and bowed, saying.

"I know, thank you for the guidance."

After leaving the Decoration Company, Jiang Tao's expression turned cold. He immediately ordered his driver back to the Group office for a meeting and personally called his nephew, Jiang Dazhi, to scold him severely.

... Meanwhile.

Morning.

Chen Hao arrived at the Jiangcheng Xinglong Group Real Estate Company as scheduled to report for duty.

As soon as he entered the main gate, he felt the atmosphere in the company was somewhat off.

Employees in suits and ties were gathered in small Groups, whispering to each other, as if something big was about to happen.

"Did you hear? Inside scoop: A high-level executive from the head office is coming to inspect today."

"Of course I heard. It's been buzzing for a long time. I heard this executive is a big favorite of the Group President."

"I heard they might be parachuted in to be our Sales Director."

"Who knows? I also heard they might be getting rid of Manager Huang."

"Manager Huang has been skimming money; it's high time he was dealt with."

Chen Hao overheard quite a bit of gossip as he walked by and wondered if his cover had been blown. He was supposed to start quietly for an undercover visit to investigate the real situation of the branch company.

But before he even started working, the news had spread throughout the branch. How could he conduct an undercover visit now?

Just as Chen Hao was puzzled, someone questioned him nearby.

"Who are you?"

Chen Hao quickly explained.

"I'm here for a job interview."

The person sized him up, not sensing any particular aura, and said dismissively.

"Wait over there."

Chen Hao didn't take offense and waited patiently in the waiting area in the hallway.

Not long after, someone shouted.

"The person is here! Everyone, come with me to welcome them!"

Chen Hao saw the employees rushing out collectively, which greatly piqued his curiosity. He craned his neck, wondering internally.

Could the person the employees were discussing not be him? Who was it then?

Never mind; he was here for an undercover visit. Who this person was didn't matter, as long as it didn't expose him.

Chen Hao waited patiently, unmoving. A short while later, enthusiastic applause echoed from the end of the hallway.

"Welcome, welcome! A warm welcome!"

The reception was grand; almost half the company went out to greet the arrival.

Soon after, amidst the crowd of admirers, a familiar face made a grand entrance—it was Shayiva.

"Secretary Sha, your presence truly makes our humble branch company shine."

The few people accompanying Shayiva included the branch company's General Manager, Huang Hongbo, along with several managers and supervisors, all in the crowd.

"No need to gather here. Get back to work. Don't you all have anything to do?"

Shayiva maintained the aloof demeanor of a cold goddess, creating a strong sense of pressure on the ordinary employees.

General Manager Huang immediately ordered everyone back to their workstations, then personally led Shayiva on a tour of the branch company.

"This is the conference room, the office area, the sales department. This side is HR, the Human Resources Department..."

Just as Manager Huang was speaking eloquently, Shayiva walked straight toward the Human Resources Department door, making the HR employees' hearts race. They all pretended to be busy checking their computers.

Chen Hao remained seated in the hallway. He didn't know why Shayiva was walking directly toward him and feared this silly girl might accidentally slip up and reveal something.

While praying inwardly, Shayiva stopped beside Chen Hao.

"Are you here for an interview?"

The heart Chen Hao had been holding onto finally settled. He looked at Shayiva irritably, just about to reply, when Manager Huang spoke, acting subserviently.

"Secretary Sha is asking you a question! Aren't you going to stand up and answer? Don't you know the rules?"

Chen Hao's mind shifted, and he suddenly understood Shayiva's intention—she was helping him cover up.

He immediately stood up, displaying a humble and respectful demeanor.

"That's right, I am here for an interview. This is my resume."
