52: Chapter 52 Sun Nana's Confession

Chen Hao parked the car in a hotel parking lot according to the address and sent a message to Sun Nana, telling her to come out and meet him.

While waiting in the car, he saw several familiar faces at the hotel entrance, and surprisingly, even his ex-girlfriend Lin Xiaomeng was there.

"I borrowed it from a friend."

"A girlfriend's car?"

At the mention of the word "girlfriend," Chen Hao subconsciously thought of Lin Xiaomeng and questioned her.

"Why did Lin Xiaomeng come to Guangcheng as well?"

"Vice President Wang brought her."

Sun Nana spoke volubly, saying that for this business trip, President Ma Botao, Vice President Wang Liguo, ten employees from the Marketing and Sales Department, two from HR, and two assistants—sixteen people in total—had come together.

"Did you know? It was my first time flying first class, and I even sat next to President Ma. He spent the whole flight telling me about how you and he started the business together back then."

"I always knew you were a veteran of the company, but I never knew that you were the one who opened up the Guangcheng clothing market and made the company popular."

He felt that Vice President Wang Liguo bringing Lin Xiaomeng along was purely to disgust him. It seemed that when they met face-to-face for the handover, a confrontation would be inevitable.

"Did the higher-ups decide to come to Guangcheng as a group to meet with me personally, or do they have another motive?"

"President Ma wants me to continue working with you, but Vice President Wang's view is that if you can open up channels, so can he. So he brought a team over; to put it bluntly, he just doesn't want to spend unnecessary money."

Sun Nana added as an explanation.

"President Ma's main purpose for coming to Guangcheng is to attend tomorrow's Business Seminar. Vice President Wang said that having the whole company attend would broaden everyone's horizons and expand their networks. He even said that if they handle things right, they won't need you at all in the future."

Chen Hao shook his head and said.

"The idea is grand, but the reality is harsh. By doing this, Wang Liguo is only shooting himself in the foot. If you don't believe me, we'll see tomorrow."

Sun Nana changed the subject.

"Let's not talk about that. You didn't come to see me just to ask for inside information, did you?"

"Of course not. Since it's your first time in Guangcheng, I want to show you the local sights and sounds."

"Let's go!"

Chen Hao drove Sun Nana around the shopping malls in Guangcheng. To increase her favorability, he bought her a luxury handbag and a complete set of cosmetics.

To Chen Hao's surprise, even though he had spent the money, Sun Nana's favorability didn't increase.

When it was time for dinner, Chen Hao found a high-end restaurant. After they sat down, Sun Nana asked irritably.

"You bought me so many nice things; what's your angle?"

"Do you know why the company assigned you to work with me?"

"Because President Ma Botao asked me to choose a successor within the company, and I chose you."

"So, I plan to let you take over my business. Establish yourself in the company first and become President Ma's right-hand person. Once you've matured and I've started my own business, you can then choose whether to join me in my venture."

Sun Nana listened intently and immediately stated.

"So that's how it is. I don't care about the details; as long as you call, I'll follow you through thick and thin. That's my promise to you."

Chen Hao smiled.

"You're quite loyal."

Sun Nana said seriously.

"It's not just loyalty. I'm not like this with anyone else."

"Silly girl, you're quite the character."

Chen Hao teased with a smile. Sun Nana glanced at the shopping bags and said half-jokingly.

"Actually, you don't need to spend so much money to woo me. If you just confessed, I'd definitely agree to be your girlfriend. I'd even be willing to marry you instead of Lin Xiaomeng."

These words made Chen Hao's body stiffen. Sun Nana continued with a blushing face.

"I'm not a loose woman; I've never slept with a man. In that regard, I'm much better than Lin Xiaomeng."

"Brother Hao, can you give me a clear answer today? Do you want me to be your girlfriend?"

In the past, Sun Nana would have been a very suitable partner—someone to hold hands with and grow old together.
