130: Chapter 130 Selling the House

A small star represented one house sold. According to the sales office leaderboard, the Sales Champion was actually Manager Huang, who accounted for 17 stars by himself.

Chen Hao asked doubtfully.

"Is Manager Huang really that capable? He's already sold 17 houses this month?"

"Nonsense, he doesn't have that ability."

Liu Jiayin looked left and right, then lowered her voice.

"This is the unspoken rule here. Every team has to record the first transaction of the month under Manager Huang's name. Only if any team surpasses him will they be defined as the Sales Champion."

Chen Hao immediately lowered his voice and asked quietly.

"I heard that our sales office gives a significant bonus to the monthly Sales Champion. If calculated this way, doesn't that mean the monthly Sales Champion bonus all ends up in Manager Huang's pocket?"

Liu Jiayin shrugged.

"Who says it doesn't? But what can we do? Manager Huang has connections in the Head Office. We employees can only swallow our anger and dare not speak out."

Chen Hao asked puzzledly.

"Haven't any employees reported it?"

Liu Jiayin immediately pulled Chen Hao to a secluded spot, looking around cautiously as she spoke.

"Don't talk nonsense. At least Manager Huang doesn't hoard everything; we all earn money together. Following Brother Huang, we can also benefit, right?"

There was collusion involved. Chen Hao felt like he was getting a handle on things.

Chen Hao wanted to press for more information, but Liu Jiayin refused to say another word, telling Chen Hao to take the architectural blueprints and familiarize himself with the layout of the buildings.

"It's your first day, and you drank heavily yesterday. Go get rid of the smell of alcohol first. Once you can sell houses, I'll chat with you in detail later."

Liu Jiayin left, leaving Chen Hao feeling bewildered.

He took out his phone to record the clues.

1. Manager Huang habitually monopolizes the Sales Champion bonus, yet the employees have no complaints.

2. Manager Huang and the sales office employees are colluding; internal conspiracy is suspected.

These were the only two clues he found for now. The time was too short, and Chen Hao didn't plan to uncover all the company's cancers on his very first day. He would take it slow.

According to the architectural blueprints, Chen Hao thoroughly memorized every unit type in the housing projects developed by Xinglong Group and began contemplating his sales pitch based on the suggested selling prices.

On his first day of employment, Chen Hao acted conventionally, first learning the workflow of the sales office.

During this time, quite a few customers visited, interested in the properties developed by Xinglong Group. The employees seemed injected with adrenaline, scrambling to sell houses.

There were 17 teams in total, internal competition was fierce, involution was severe, and everyone was highly motivated.

This made Chen Hao very curious. Since the promotion channels offered by the company were all occupied by Manager Huang, why were the employees still working so hard? What was the reason behind this?

There must be some hidden story that was unknown to outsiders, otherwise, the Head Office wouldn't have conducted multiple reviews that all ended without resolution.

To gather information and integrate into the workplace, Chen Hao decided to mingle with his colleagues. Following the custom for new hires, he ordered over 60 cups of milk tea for lunch.

He gave a cup of milk tea to everyone, from the sales colleagues to Manager Huang in management, and even the cleaning aunties.

This action significantly boosted Chen Hao's likeability among his colleagues. During lunch, Liu Jiayin also sat across from Chen Hao with her work meal.

"Thank you for the milk tea. You spent money right after joining."

Chen Hao smiled and said.

"I'm a newcomer, it's the least I should do."

"You're really thoughtful. This afternoon, I need to take a client to see the model home. You can come with me. Since I'm your team leader, the sooner you sell a house, the sooner our team earns more revenue."

"Thank you, Sister Jiayin."

After lunch, Liu Jiayin took Chen Hao out for fieldwork, which meant waiting at the model home entrance for the client to arrive.

As salespeople, it was necessary to be ahead of the customers. However, while waiting under the scorching sun, Liu Jiayin was roasted, sweating profusely, which soaked her white blouse. From Chen Hao's perspective, he could vaguely see the bra underneath her white shirt.

"It's boiling hot."

Liu Jiayin kept looking around. Chen Hao meticulously fanned her, trying his best to lower her temperature.

"You're really thoughtful. You're the most perceptive newcomer I've ever met."

"Thank you for the compliment, Team Leader Liu."

Chen Hao said on the surface, but he was sneering internally. He used to be the Sales Champion in the Marketing Department. Since he was selling things, he could easily handle the psychology of customers or clients.

Around 2:40 PM, the customer was over 40 minutes late before finally arriving belatedly.

Liu Jiayin greeted him with a smile, flattering him as she ushered the client into the complex. She didn't stop talking from introducing the property management, all the way to taking the elevator and entering the model home, eloquently explaining the advantages of the house.

Buying a house is a major life event. Almost every client is highly selective; few make impulsive purchases. This client was no exception.

"It's okay. I'll look at other unit types tomorrow."

The client's attitude was noncommittal, but Liu Jiayin was not discouraged. She kept promoting, recommending installment plans, and even mentioning she had connections.

Setting aside other things, in Chen Hao's eyes, Liu Jiayin made several mistakes. If he had been leading the house tour, regardless of how smoothly the transaction went, his closing rate would certainly have been higher than Liu Jiayin's.

Chen Hao guessed correctly; the deal ultimately fell through. The customer claimed they would return tomorrow to look at other unit types.

After seeing the client off, Liu Jiayin looked a bit dejected. On the way back to the sales office, Chen Hao took Liu Jiayin for a cold treat along the way.

Chen Hao handed her a Häagen-Dazs ice cream.

"Here, Team Leader Liu, cool down and beat the heat."

She took it, eating while mumbling.

"The market isn't good this year; it's not like before when houses were easy to sell."

Chen Hao asked gently.

"Sister Jiayin, when the houses were easy to sell in the past, what was the maximum you could earn in a month?"

Liu Jiayin replied without thinking.

"I joined the industry relatively late and missed the good times, so I haven't earned much. But I heard that every team leader before me could earn two to three hundred thousand a month."

"They could earn that much money?"

Chen Hao was somewhat shocked.

"You're a newcomer, so you don't understand some of the unspoken rules. Once you get familiar with our sales office business, you'll gradually understand."

Chen Hao probed.

"How can I learn about the situation in advance? I want to earn money quickly."

Seeing that Liu Jiayin had no intention of revealing anything, Chen Hao tried another approach.

"How about I treat you to dinner tonight?"

Liu Jiayin smiled and said.

"Don't joke around. It's not the right time yet."

After that, no matter how Chen Hao tried to probe, Liu Jiayin remained silent. It wasn't until they returned to the sales office that something unexpected happened to Chen Hao.

Two uninvited guests had arrived at the sales office: his ex-girlfriend Lin Xiaomeng and her lover Wang Kaiming.

Enemies meeting, their eyes burned with hatred, especially Wang Kaiming. Upon seeing Chen Hao, he became energized, strutting around arrogantly and pointing at Chen Hao.

"I don't need anyone else; I just want him to serve me!"
