132: Chapter 132 The Art of Judging People
Seeing that there was no more drama to watch, everyone went back to doing their own thing.
Chen Hao went to the employee lounge and was immediately cornered by Liu Jiayin, whose spirit of gossip was overflowing.
"Tell me quickly, what exactly was going on just now?"
To gain her trust, Chen Hao told her the truth.
"The woman is Lin Xiaomeng, and the man is Wang Kaiming. They are both former colleagues from my previous company. I caught them having an affair, and then Wang Kaiming used his position to get me fired. That's how I ended up here."
Liu Jiayin thought seriously for a moment, then asked again.
"They said earlier that you were the Sales Champion at your former company. Is that true?"
"That is true."
Liu Jiayin took two steps back and scrutinized Chen Hao up and down repeatedly.
"Since you are the Sales Champion, why don't I give you all the difficult clients? You help me sell houses and let me test your mettle."
"No problem."
Liu Jiayin patted Chen Hao's shoulder.
"As your team leader, I will support you if you encounter this kind of thing again in the future. But you also need to be strong and not let those two scoundrels get to you."
She was being completely kind-hearted, and Chen Hao didn't pay it much mind.
Around 6 o'clock, the sales office's workday ended, with some leaving for home and others heading off.
Chen Hao had intended to ask Liu Jiayin out for dinner, as he felt she was a potential breakthrough point; obtaining internal information might be easier through her.
However, Liu Jiayin didn't give him the opportunity, so Chen Hao could only leave alone.
He originally planned to find Zhang Menglu, but just as he reached the bus stop while waiting for the bus, a Honda Accord pulled up. Shayiva leaned out, put on sunglasses, and gestured with her chin toward Chen Hao.
"Get in."
Chen Hao gave a wry smile and got into the car.
As she drove, Shayiva asked,
"How was your first day at work?"
"Pretty good."
"Did you find anything out?"
"I have some leads, but I need to investigate further."
Shayiva pressed him.
"Do you need my help with anything?"
"Not for now."
Shayiva frowned deeply.
"Since you don't need my help, I have a personal matter that requires your assistance: help me take care of my physical needs."
Shayiva was truly direct. While driving, she took Chen Hao straight back to the apartment. As soon as they entered, she became impatient. The two of them fought fiercely from the doorway all the way to the bedroom, battling from dusk until late into the night.
After it was over,
Shayiva collapsed onto the bed, panting, still wanting more.
Chen Hao went to the kitchen to make a late-night snack; it was just two bowls of noodles.
"Come out and eat."
When Shayiva came out, she was only wearing Chen Hao's white shirt, looking at him full of happiness.
"I have never met a man as enduring as you. You truly are a hero."
Chen Hao gave a bitter smile.
"Don't praise me so much."
While they were eating, Chen Hao kept thinking about how to extract more useful information from Liu Jiayin's mouth.
According to the system's evaluation, Liu Jiayin was a gold-digger, a chatterbox, highly curious, and had a fetish for strange smells. Analyzing this based on the goddess token, what she cared about most was perfume.
An idea struck him.
"Shayiva, do you have any perfume?"
"Of course I do."
She quickly ate a few mouthfuls of noodles, ran to the bedroom, and brought out several bottles of perfume, introducing each one. Some were expensive, and some were cheap.
Chen Hao chose a Chanel perfume, deciding to spray some on himself tomorrow before meeting Liu Jiayin alone to increase her favorability.
Secondly, since the clue about Chen Hao being the Sales Champion had been exposed, he wouldn't need to hide his abilities tomorrow. He planned to prove his competence first with his performance, and then try to extract information from her, which would surely yield twice the result with half the effort.
That night, Shayiva insisted on having him one more time before they finally stopped at dawn.
The next morning,
Chen Hao walked into the sales office yawning. The employees were all gathered in the lobby, waiting for the morning meeting.
Chen Hao blended in with the employees. Not long after, Manager Huang appeared and spoke sharply.
"First, I need to address something. Yesterday, I received a complaint. I don't need to say who it was from. Don't think that just because you're new, you can ignore the rules. If there's a next time, I will show you no leniency."
Manager Huang was practically naming Chen Hao. Without needing to guess, the complainant must have been that bastard Wang Kaiming.
After the encouragement and pep talk, the employees dispersed to prepare for the day's endeavors.
Before starting work, Liu Jiayin was called away by Manager Huang for a private chat. When she returned, her expression was clearly upset.
"What's wrong, Sister Jiayin?"
Liu Jiayin said helplessly.
"You were specifically named. Moreover, Manager Huang gave me an ultimatum: if you don't sell a single house within three days, you probably won't even finish your internship period and might be fired now."
Chen Hao smiled confidently.
"It won't take three days. I will definitely secure a deal today."
If Chen Hao didn't even have this confidence, he wouldn't have the face to admit he was the Sales Champion.
"Go for it!"
In the morning, customers began arriving at the sales office one after another.
Chen Hao didn't make a move immediately but observed the customers.
For a qualified salesperson, observation was the most fundamental skill. By observing the customers' attire, speech, and mannerisms, one could judge their purchasing power and potential value—this was the basic skill of a Sales Champion.
There were quite a few people at the sales office today, but very few had real purchasing power.
For example, there was a woman dressed in opulent silks and jewels, attended by three salespeople from Group C. Chen Hao walked past her, observing carefully and making an assessment.
Dressed in gold and silver, with an LV bag slung across her body, she looked luxurious, but she was likely a Group-buying Yuan whose purpose in visiting the sales office was probably to find an opportunity to take photos for her social media feed.
There was another potential client wearing a 'Eight Horses' T-shirt, a Rolex gold watch on his wrist, smoking expensive cigarettes, and his conversation revolved entirely around property prices, asking very detailed questions about various layouts.
A property flipper, a speculator—a potential client. Unfortunately, two team leaders were already serving him, so Chen Hao couldn't even get a chance to curry favor.
Just as Chen Hao was walking around observing, he saw a middle-aged man wearing glasses and a long gown strolling leisurely in the sales hall.
A saleswoman approached to strike up a conversation, but he politely waved his hands away, responding, "I'm just looking around," dismissing her.
Chen Hao observed this person carefully: hands clasped behind his back, hair perfectly neat, and a pair of white sneakers on his feet whose brand was unrecognizable. The clothes he wore also showed no discernible brand.
Moreover, judging by his accent, there was a faint hint of a Shanghai dialect.
Low-key yet not lacking in luxury—this person was definitely a potential big client.
Chen Hao observed very minutely. The "big client" wandered around the sand table for a long time before finally sauntering toward the entrance. He stood outside the door, took out a cigarette case, and just as he put a cigarette in his mouth, Chen Hao handed him a lighter.
"Click."
The big client was startled but still let Chen Hao light it for him. He tapped Chen Hao's hand lightly to express thanks.
Chen Hao took the opportunity to light a cigarette for himself as well. While exhaling smoke, he actively started a conversation.
"Boss is looking for a house for his child, right?"
The man looked at Chen Hao doubtfully.
"How did you figure that out?"
