159: Chapter 159 Dogs Fighting Dogs
Since they had nothing better to do, going to check it out wouldn't hurt.
And so, the group set out, a Santana and a car belonging to the Decoration Company driving off in a grand procession toward the suburbs.
Chen Hao and Pang Dahai sat in the Santana, while Pillar drove; the other employees all sat in the van following behind.
Pang Dahai was somewhat energized.
“This feels like we’re out on an assignment again. Pillar, this is how I used to catch you back in the day.”
Pillar didn't hold back either, joking, “We’re missing a police light. Without that thing, it’s not quite right.”
Pang Dahai laughed. “We aren't actually investigating a case. This time we're going to scout the area, learn the address, and find enough evidence.”
Pang Dahai was the expert when it came to investigations; Chen Hao couldn't interject, so he just followed along for the whole trip.
After about an hour, they arrived near the factory. The surroundings were pitch black. This place was very remote, the smell was pungent, and it wasn't suitable for living.
After everyone got out of the cars, Pang Dahai signaled for Six to sneak in.
“It’s time for you to earn merit. Sneak in, use WeChat to take pictures, and snap as much evidence of counterfeiting as you can.”
“Watch this.”
Besides Pang Dahai, the other employees were also very excited. After all, this operation gave them a chance to use their skills, and they weren't afraid of breaking the law—how could they not be excited?
The wall was very high, but in Six’s eyes, it was as good as nonexistent. He ran quickly, kicked off the wall, and flipped over into the courtyard. Six’s figure completely vanished into the dark night.
While keeping watch, Pillar lit a cigarette. He had only taken two puffs before Pang Dahai scolded him fiercely.
“Put out that cigarette! Are you an idiot? Smoking in this pitch darkness, the cigarette tip can be seen from two miles away. Can’t you be more professional?”
Pillar bowed and scraped, throwing the cigarette on the ground and crushing it with his foot.
To avoid leaving any clues, Pang Dahai personally collected the cigarette butt and meticulously swept up even the ashes.
Not long after, photos taken by Six came through the Decoration Company group chat—picture after picture, all showing counterfeit decoration materials piled up in an entire warehouse.
Tiles, flooring, plaster, cement, wires, steel pipes—they truly had everything.
After seeing the photos, Pang Dahai and the others couldn't help but sigh repeatedly.
“They are imitating top-tier major brands. The genuine articles aren't cheap on the market. Their forging and selling of shoddy goods is utterly detestable.”
After a brief discussion, Pang Dahai, fearing complications arising from the late hour, notified Six via WeChat.
“We have enough evidence. Come out now, we’re leaving.”
Shortly after, Six climbed back over the factory wall. Pang Dahai signaled for two people to stay behind to stake out the place, ordering them to photograph everyone entering or leaving the factory over the next two days without missing a single person.
They left them one Santana, and the rest drove the van to stake out the clubhouse Chen Hao had visited previously.
Chen Hao asked doubtfully, “Why are we coming here?”
Pang Dahai observed the surroundings as he spoke. “Li Yang being able to join that drinking session proves he has an indispensable, crucial role in this. I suspect this clubhouse is the place where they secretly conduct their transactions.”
“It’s just that I’ve resigned now. If I were still with the bureau, I would definitely apply for a search warrant and dig up the whole network.”
After waiting a short while, a car stopped at the entrance of the clubhouse. Several men got out, looking around cautiously. Then, they dragged a woman out of the car, shoving and pushing her, roughly forcing the woman inside the clubhouse.
“Damn, there’s even a case of forcing virtuous women into prostitution! Just when I was about to go to sleep, someone delivered a pillow—an unexpected bonus!”
Pang Dahai was slightly agitated and was just about to call the police and ask his colleagues to come investigate, when Chen Hao suddenly reached out to stop him.
“It might not be forcing a virtuous woman into prostitution!”
Pang Dahai looked utterly surprised. His mind was entirely focused on justice. He hadn't clearly seen who the woman being taken inside was, but Chen Hao had seen clearly: this woman was his ex-girlfriend, Lin Xiaomeng, and the car belonged to Wang Kaiming.
These two adulterous wretches—the scoundrel man and the shameless woman. He had heard earlier that Huang Tao was planning to contact Wang Kaiming to deal with him. Bringing Lin Xiaomeng here was highly suspicious.
“Hao Zi, this isn't something to joke about, is it?”
Chen Hao tilted his chin and said, “The woman being taken inside is my ex-girlfriend, and that car belongs to Wang Kaiming.”
Pang Dahai’s mind couldn't process it for a moment, and he asked doubtfully, “So?”
Chen Hao speculated, “Is there a possibility that they are colluding to target me, rather than it being a case of forcing a virtuous woman into prostitution?”
Pang Dahai lost interest and mumbled, “I thought we could get official intervention openly.”
Pillar, standing nearby, muttered casually, “We’ll know once we go inside to check!”
Everyone collectively looked at Pillar. Pang Dahai said, “That makes sense. How about this: you keep your phone on video call mode the whole time, and you go inside to check the situation.”
“Why me?” Pillar sounded a bit reluctant.
“Stop the nonsense. Whoever suggests it provides the proof. Hurry up and go.”
Chen Hao knew why Pillar was hesitant. He used his phone to instantly transfer 20,000 yuan to him and told him the internal layout of the clubhouse.
“First floor is the fitness and leisure area, second floor is the SPA and massage area, third floor is the KTV, fourth floor is the room rental area, and the fifth floor is the dining booths.”
“Understood.”
After getting out of the car, Pillar strode into the clubhouse entrance. Everyone’s attention was fixed on the live video feed.
The manager greeted Pillar enthusiastically, asking what service he required. Pillar had a background as a man of the world and was not unfamiliar with this kind of environment; his conversation was smooth and adept.
He went directly to the third-floor KTV, claiming he wanted to book a private room to wait for friends. The video content was constantly shaky, making everyone dizzy, but Chen Hao, with his sharp focus, heard a curse mixed in with the music as Pillar passed one of the rooms.
“Look what you did to me, scratching me! You pest!”
That was Wang Kaiming’s voice.
Pillar booked the room and sat down, claiming he was waiting for his friends and would order drinks later.
After the manager left, Chen Hao immediately instructed, “Go to Room 888.”
Pillar cautiously left, pretending to be on the phone while wandering around.
The camera lens, looking through the window of the KTV entrance, revealed the scene inside Room 888.
Lin Xiaomeng’s face was swollen from being slapped, her fair skin covered in finger marks. She was kneeling on the floor, crying repeatedly and begging for mercy.
“It was all my fault, I’m sorry. I know I was wrong, please stop hitting me!”
Lin Xiaomeng’s pleas did not earn Wang Kaiming’s forgiveness; instead, he intensified his assault, grabbing her hair and hitting her repeatedly.
Looking at Wang Kaiming’s face, the originally handsome features now bore several bloody scratches, likely inflicted by Lin Xiaomeng.
The view lasted only a few seconds. Pang Dahai looked solemnly at Chen Hao.
“Brother, call the police!”
Before Chen Hao could give the order, a loud shout echoed from the end of the corridor.
“What are you doing?”
The camera shook, revealing several people emerging from the Supreme Box, looking as if they were facing a great enemy, fists clenched and eyes glaring fiercely.
The clubhouse owner, Li Yang, rushed over furiously, pointing directly at the camera lens!
The few people in the car all felt a sense of dread!
“It’s bad! We’ve been exposed!”
