counseling Murong Wan

Yang Yun leaned into his embrace, her beautiful eyes still fixed on Murong Wan, as if she wanted to see right through her.

"So that's how it is," she said, drawing out her tone. "What a coincidence."

Murong Wan felt her cheeks burn even hotter; she wished she could find a crack in the ground to crawl into. She could clearly hear the hidden meaning behind Yang Yun's words.

Li Wei pinched the soft flesh at Yang Yun's waist, signaling her not to go too far. Then, he looked at Murong Wan, his tone calm.

"Get in the car, it's getting late."

"Okay." As if granted amnesty, Murong Wan hurriedly pulled open the car door and got in.

Li Wei turned his head and gently pecked Yang Yun on the lips.

"Wait for me at home."

"Mhm."

Yang Yun nodded obediently, but the playfulness in her eyes remained undiminished. Li Wei released her and turned to climb into the backseat of the Mercedes. The car slowly started.

Yang Yun stood at the doorway, watching the white luxury car drive further and further away, the smile on her face gradually fading.

"I was wondering why it felt familiar; it was the scent on Sister Murong. And calling her 'Murong' so affectionately... just wait until you get back, I'll show you."

The backseat of the white stretched Mercedes S-Class was spacious enough to hold a small meeting. Li Wei and Murong Wan sat side by side, with a fist's distance between them, but the atmosphere was not distant; instead, a subtle, amorous tension quietly fermented in the air.

Li Wei's gaze swept over the dark, soundproof glass slowly rising between the driver's seat and the back row, completely isolating this little world from the outside.

"This is the latest electronically controlled atomized glass. Press the button and it becomes completely opaque, plus the soundproofing is excellent; they can't hear anything in the front."

Murong Wan seemed to see through his thoughts and, before he could speak, explained softly. Her voice was gentle and pleasant, like a clear spring in a mountain stream, washing away the restlessness in one's heart. Ever since she got into the car, Murong Wan had returned to her usual graceful and luxurious demeanor. It was hard to imagine that the shy, uneasy person at the villa entrance just moments ago was the same woman.

Li Wei turned his head and, looking at her exquisite profile, couldn't help but smile.

"Why are you so cute? I hadn't even asked, and you already knew what I was going to say."

"I'm old enough to be your sister; 'cute' doesn't fit me at all."

Murong Wan shot him a playful glare, though her gaze softened unconsciously. Today, she had traded her soul-stirring cheongsam for a well-tailored Chanel professional suit; the ivory color set off her skin, making it look as white as snow, and gave her an air of elegance. The silk blouse worn underneath was tied with a beautiful bow at the collar, adding a touch of softness to her professional look.

"You look beautiful today." Li Wei's compliment came from the heart. "I'm used to seeing you in a cheongsam, but this outfit today is refreshing."

A hint of sweetness welled up in Murong Wan's heart, but she immediately remembered the morning's awkward situation. She turned her head, her autumn-water-like eyes staring straight at Li Wei.

"Did you do it on purpose? Did you intentionally make me go to your house and intentionally make me run into Yun Yun?"

"You're so smart; the moment I gave you the address over the phone, you should have guessed my intention." Li Wei didn't deny it; instead, he met her gaze calmly.

"But you still came, which means you were mentally prepared. Besides, didn't you do quite well just now? You acted with poise and the grace of a lady from a prominent family."

"I was just putting on a brave face, okay!" Murong Wan rolled her eyes at him, annoyed.

"You have no idea how nervous I was; my palms were sweating, and I was terrified that Yun Yun would suddenly explode and embarrass me on the spot." As she spoke, she actually sounded a bit aggrieved, still feeling lingering fear.

"Oh? So I'm that important to you, that you'd be so nervous?" Li Wei leaned in closer, his tone playful.

"You're asking even though you know the answer!" Murong Wan felt her cheeks burning again, and she reached out to pinch his sturdy arm hard. "I think you just like seeing me embarrassed!"

That display of feminine behavior beneath her mature, commanding exterior made Li Wei's heart flutter. He put away his playful expression, took hold of her mischievous hand, and his voice became deep and serious.

"Today is a special and important day."

Murong Wan was stunned.

"In a little while, as long as you step through the doors of Yinshan Capital, you will completely sever ties with Lin Tianhao for the rest of your life." Li Wei's gaze was profound, as if he could see through people's hearts.

"So today can also be considered your rebirth day. I was afraid you'd be too nervous and under too much pressure, which is why I resorted to that plan. Now that you think about it, aren't you not as nervous anymore?"

Murong Wan stared at him blankly, the softest part of her heart deeply touched. She recalled carefully. She thought about how today was supposed to be the most nerve-wracking and crucial day of her life. Yet, ever since she received his call in the morning, all her thoughts had been occupied by "going to his house," making her anxious and hesitant. Until sitting in the car just now, that immense pressure of facing Lin Tianhao and a high-stakes gamble had indeed been greatly diluted. It turned out that he had even thought of this for her.

An indescribable warmth flowed through her limbs and bones; Murong Wan's eyes grew hot, and she said nothing more, simply resting her head silently on Li Wei's solid shoulder. This man was even more thoughtful and reliable than she had imagined.

The interior of the car was warm and intimate, but at that moment, the Yinshan Capital headquarters was in chaos. On the top floor, outside the spacious and luxurious chairman's office area, a group of men and women in suits were anxiously surrounding a figure.

"Secretary Chen, what on earth is going on? How could the old chairman suddenly transfer all his shares? Without even giving a heads-up!" The speaker was Executive Director Wang Tieshan; he was slightly chubby with his hair combed meticulously, but at this moment, he was sweating profusely from anxiety.

"That's right, Secretary Chen, what is the background of the new chairman? Give us a hint!"

"The new energy project I'm working on has just reached a critical stage; will the new chairman shut it down as soon as they arrive? If it gets stopped, the losses will be huge!"

"My position won't be affected, will it?" The rising chorus of discussions almost blew the roof off.

The person surrounded by them was none other than the Chief Board Secretary, Chen Xi. She was dressed in a sharp, professional black suit with delicate, light makeup; facing the "siege" of the company's pillars, she maintained an impeccable professional smile, calm and composed.

"Executive Vice Presidents, Director Wang, please calm down." Chen Xi's voice was crisp and steady, carrying a power that calmed people's hearts.

"The company's equity change is a top-secret matter for the Board of Directors; before the official announcement, I have no comment."

She scanned the room, her gaze calm and firm.

"I can only tell you all that the new chairman is already on the way. Instead of speculating here, you'd be better off returning to your posts and preparing your work reports. I think the chairman would prefer to see an orderly Yinshan Capital that is ready to go into battle at any time."

Her words were watertight; they both made her position clear and calmed everyone down, causing the previously chaotic crowd to gradually quieten. Wang Tieshan looked at the Chief Secretary, who was young but so shrewd, and cursed her as an "old fox" in his heart, though he had to force a smile on his face.

"Secretary Chen is right; everyone disperse, back to your posts!"
