Yan Ruyu

"Screech!"

Outside the solemn and dignified gates of the Shen City Public Security Bureau.

The silence was torn apart by a sharp, ear-piercing screech of tires.

Several pitch-black SWAT anti-riot vehicles, like beasts pouncing from the darkness, executed a beautiful tail-flick drift and came to a precise stop before the cordon at the entrance.

The car bodies still radiated heat from high-speed driving, and the dust they kicked up swirled in the sunlight, filling the air with a chilling atmosphere.

The Armed Police on guard and several Police Officers who had just finished their night shifts and were heading home were all stunned in place by this sudden display.

Before they could react, the door of the lead command vehicle was thrown open.

A slender, beautiful leg encased in a black combat boot was the first to hit the ground, the sole striking the hard concrete with a dull, forceful thud.

Immediately after, a tall and valiant figure leaped down from the vehicle.

It was a woman, approximately twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old.

With neat, shoulder-length short hair and a cold, oval-shaped face, she wore no makeup, yet she was more striking than anyone in heavy cosmetics.

She wore a form-fitting black special operations uniform that outlined a devilishly hot figure; the fullness of her chest pushed against the combat gear in a breathtaking curve, while her waist was slender enough to be held in one hand, forming a perfect ratio with her straight, long legs.

She just stood there quietly, her gaze as cold as a Siberian current, and a powerful aura that warned others not to approach enveloped the entire scene.

"Bring them down!"

The woman's thin lips parted slightly, her voice not loud, yet possessing an unquestionable penetration.

"Yes!"

"Clatter!"

From the vehicles behind, SWAT Officers armed with live ammunition filed out in a single line, their movements disciplined and well-trained.

Two of the SWAT Officers escorted two people down from a prisoner transport vehicle.

The moment the Police Officers at the entrance saw those two clearly, their eyes nearly popped out, and their mouths hung open wide enough to fit an egg.

One of them they recognized; it was Yang Long, one of the main suspects in the West Suburbs Abandoned Factory Case that had been making headlines recently.

At this moment, his face was bruised, and his eyes were vacant as if his soul had been sucked out; he offered no resistance as the SWAT Officers held him.

And the other... the other person being escorted was actually wearing a crisp police uniform!

Although the rank insignia had been torn off and the hat was missing, that familiar navy blue uniform made all the Police Officers present feel a stinging sensation in their eyes.

The man kept his head down, his hair messy, and his hands were cuffed behind his back. He looked incredibly pathetic; it was exactly the Deputy Captain of the Criminal Investigation Detachment, Tian Yimin!

"Cap... Captain Tian?"

A young Police Officer subconsciously called out, his voice filled with disbelief.

Tian Yimin's body shuddered violently, and he buried his head even lower, as if wishing he could find a crack in the ground to crawl into.

The commotion at the entrance soon alerted the Director of the Public Security Bureau, Wang Yaomin, who had just finished a meeting and was about to head downstairs.

He walked quickly to the entrance with several Police Officers, his brow furrowing immediately upon seeing the tense standoff.

His gaze was immediately drawn to the woman leading the group.

What a valiant and heroic woman!

Wang Yaomin had spent half his life in the police world and had seen all sorts of people, but he had never seen a young woman with such a powerful aura.

That cold and elegant face, that figure comparable to a supermodel's, yet perfectly integrated with the chilling special operations uniform, created a contradictory and lethal attraction.

He even felt the face looked somewhat familiar, as if he had seen it somewhere before.

But when his gaze swept over Tian Yimin, who was being escorted by the SWAT Officers.

The hint of admiration on his face instantly froze, replaced by a bone-chilling shock.

"Tian Yimin, weren't you out leading a mission?!"

Wang Yaomin's voice even changed its pitch.

"This... what's going on?"

The leading woman didn't answer him; instead, she took a step forward with her long legs and walked straight up to him.

She pulled an official document from her pocket, her movements crisp and efficient, without the slightest hesitation.

"Director of the Shen City Public Security Bureau, Comrade Wang Yaomin?"

Her voice was cold and clear, as if confirming information.

"It's me."

Wang Yaomin suppressed the storm in his heart.

The woman said no more; in front of everyone, she unfolded the document and began to read in a tone devoid of any emotion:

"After research and decision by the Provincial Public Security Department, it is hereby appointed: Comrade Yan Ruyu, as of today, will serve as the Captain of the Criminal Investigation Detachment of the Shen City Public Security Bureau, presiding over the overall work of the Municipal Criminal Investigation Detachment. "

"The former Deputy Captain of the Criminal Investigation Detachment, Tian Yimin, is immediately suspended from duty to undergo organizational investigation."

Yan Ruyu!

Hearing this name, a "boom" went off in Wang Yaomin's head, and a long-buried memory was instantly awakened.

He remembered!

Yan Ruyu, the former specially appointed tactical instructor at the Shen City Police University and the 'Chief Instructor' of the Municipal Bureau's SWAT Corps.

Young as she was, she was already a legendary figure in the national police system.

Combat, shooting, tactical command—she was top-tier in everything.

It was said that the officers she trained were all the elite of the elite.

The 'Thorny Rose' of the Criminal Investigation Detachment who had recently arrived and achieved many extraordinary feats.

Qin Bing was one of her most prized students!

However, she had been transferred to the Provincial Department several years ago to lead a highly confidential task force, after which she had vanished from public view.

He hadn't expected she would be parachuted into the Criminal Investigation Corps in such a manner!

After the shock passed, Wang Yaomin's gaze fell on Tian Yimin again, and his heart sank to the bottom.

He had already guessed a few things, but as the Director, he had to ask clearly.

"Captain Yan, welcome."

Wang Yaomin first stated his stance, then pointed at the deathly pale Tian Yimin and asked in a strained voice.

"But... Comrade Tian Yimin, what exactly did he do?"

Tian Yimin's body shook even more violently, and the gazes from his colleagues—filled with shock, disdain, or confusion—were like steel needles piercing him all over.

Yan Ruyu coldly glanced at the surrounding Police Officers who were craning their necks to watch the spectacle; wherever her gaze swept, everyone instinctively lowered their heads, not daring to meet her eyes.

"This is not the place to talk."

She looked at Wang Yaomin.

"Let's go to your office."

Wang Yaomin immediately understood; with this kind of scandal, the smaller the impact, the better.

He nodded and stepped aside to make a path.

Yan Ruyu waved her hand to the SWAT Officers behind her, signaling them to bring the man inside.

The group walked through the hall toward the elevator.

Along the way, all the Police Officers who saw this stopped in their tracks, staring dumbfounded at the formerly respected veteran who was now being escorted like a dead dog; everyone's heart was in turmoil.

The Shen City police world was likely about to undergo a major shift.
