Fake boyfriend, but real feelings
Yang Weiwei lowered her head.
Her face was as red as a tomato.
Li Wei glanced at the time.
"I'm leaving now. Contact me on wechat if anything comes up."
Yang Weiwei nodded.
"Okay, Brother Li, take care."
Li Wei turned and left.
After a few steps, his phone rang.
System notification sound.
[Ding! Detected that the host successfully helped Yang Weiwei!]
[Yang Weiwei's favorability +15!]
[Current favorability: 50 points (Friend relationship)]
Li Wei looked at the system panel.
50 points.
From stranger to friend.
Progress was quite fast.
He closed the system panel.
And walked towards the parking lot.
Yang Weiwei's voice came from behind him.
"Brother Li! Are you free tomorrow? I want to invite you to watch a movie!"
Li Wei turned his head.
Yang Weiwei stood at the restaurant entrance.
With an expectant smile on her face.
Li Wei frowned slightly.
After inviting a member of the opposite sex out several times in a row, did she really not know, or was she pretending not to know, that these were obvious flirting signals?
He suddenly remembered what Yang Yun had said.
It seemed this younger sister was indeed innocent.
"Let's talk about it tomorrow."
Yang Weiwei nodded.
Li Wei waved his hand.
And turned to leave.
He drove back to the villa.
Li Wei parked the car and pushed open the door.
The lingering scent of Yang Yun's perfume still filled the house.
He took off his suit and tossed it onto the sofa.
He walked to the refrigerator and took out a bottle of mineral water.
He twisted open the cap and tilted his head back, drinking more than half the bottle.
His phone rang.
A message from Yang Yun.
"What are you doing?"
Li Wei replied, "Just got home."
Yang Yun replied instantly.
"Miss me?"
Li Wei smiled.
"Yes, I did."
Yang Yun sent a satisfied emoji.
"How was your date with my sister?"
Li Wei smacked his lips.
"Not great. I found that I might not be able to resist for much longer. Her charm is too great, just like yours!"
Yang Yun sent a dagger emoji.
"Isn't it normal for my sister to be charming? By the way, are you coming over tonight?"
Li Wei's lips curled upwards.
It seemed the last sentence was the main point.
And he noticed that Yang Yun seemed to be becoming inseparable from him.
He glanced at the time.
It was only two-thirty in the afternoon.
"Later tonight."
Yang Yun sent a resentful emoji.
"Alright, then I'll wait for your message."
Li Wei put away his phone.
He walked to the floor-to-ceiling window.
Outside was an endless sea view.
Sunlight spilled onto the sea, sparkling.
Li Wei leaned against the window, and Yang Weiwei's face suddenly appeared in his mind.
A light pink dress.
Fair calves.
And those eyes full of expectation.
Li Wei shook his head.
Telling himself not to overthink.
Although she was in college, her mind was as innocent as a middle schooler's.
Having thoughts about Yang Weiwei made him feel very guilty.
Just then, his phone rang again.
This time it was Yang Weiwei.
"Brother Li, a friend gave me two movie tickets for tomorrow at 3 PM. Let's go watch a movie together, and pretend to be my boyfriend again!"
She even included a happy emoji.
Li Wei originally wanted to refuse.
But then he remembered that he had promised to help her ward off flies before.
So he replied with "Received."
Yang Weiwei replied instantly.
"Then I'll wait for you tomorrow!"
Li Wei put down his phone.
And went upstairs.
He lay on the bed.
He had been with Yang Yun until early morning yesterday, so he was a bit tired now.
He closed his eyes.
Preparing to sleep for a while... The next day, two in the afternoon.
Li Wei was woken up by his phone alarm.
He sat up and rubbed his eyes.
He got out of bed and walked into the bathroom.
He took a shower.
And put on his dark blue suit.
He adjusted his tie in the mirror.
He picked up his car keys and went downstairs.
His phone rang.
Yang Weiwei sent a message.
"Brother Li, the movie is at 3:30. What time can you arrive?"
Li Wei replied with "Three o'clock."
Yang Weiwei replied instantly.
"Then I'll wait for you at the Shenzhen University entrance!"
Li Wei started the car.
And drove out of the villa area.
There weren't many cars on the road.
He was halfway there.
When his phone suddenly rang.
Caller ID: Yang Weiwei.
Li Wei answered.
"Hello?"
Yang Weiwei's panicked voice came from the other end of the line.
"Brother Li! Can you come to my school quickly?"
Li Wei stopped walking.
"What's wrong?"
Yang Weiwei's voice was tearful.
"Zhang Jianye... he's confessing to me downstairs from my dorm! So many people are watching!"
Li Wei frowned.
"He's confessing?"
Yang Weiwei was almost crying.
"Yes! He even brought a huge bouquet of roses! He said he wouldn't leave if I didn't accept him!"
She paused.
"Brother Li, can you come and help me? I really don't know what to do!"
Li Wei glanced at the time.
"Where exactly is it?"
Yang Weiwei gave an address.
"Girls' Dormitory Building 5."
Li Wei stepped on the gas.
"Wait for me, I'll be there in fifteen minutes."
Yang Weiwei breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank you, Brother Li!"
Li Wei hung up the phone.
And stepped on the accelerator.
The car sped towards Shenzhen University... Twelve minutes later.
Li Wei parked the car at the entrance of the Shenzhen University girls' dormitory area.
He got out of the car.
From a distance, he could see a large crowd gathered downstairs at Building 5.
At least fifty or sixty people.
All students.
All watching.
Li Wei walked over.
In the middle of the crowd.
Zhang Jianye was kneeling on one knee.
Holding a large bouquet of red roses in his hand.
At least ninety-nine roses.
He looked up and shouted towards the building.
"Yang Weiwei! I know you're in there!"
"I truly like you!"
"Please give me a chance, okay? I'll be your best choice..."
By a fourth-floor window upstairs.
Yang Weiwei stood there.
Her face pale.
Several girls stood around her.
All trying to persuade her.
"Weiwei, maybe you should go down."
"Even if you're refusing, you should say it clearly face-to-face."
"With so many people watching, it wouldn't be good if you didn't go down."
Yang Weiwei bit her lip.
She didn't want to go down.
She absolutely didn't want to go down.
But Zhang Jianye was kneeling there.
With so many people around.
If she didn't go down, the whole school would be talking about her being arrogant tomorrow.
Yang Weiwei clenched her fists.
Just then.
Footsteps came from outside the crowd.
"Excuse me."
The voice wasn't loud.
But it carried an undeniable tone.
The crowd automatically parted to make a path.
Li Wei, dressed in his suit, walked in.
When Yang Weiwei saw him, she almost burst into tears.
Brother Li was here!
Zhang Jianye also saw Li Wei.
His expression changed.
"Why are you here?"
Li Wei ignored him.
He looked up at the fourth floor and waved.
"Weiwei, come down."
Yang Weiwei nodded frantically, as if she had seen her savior.
She turned and ran downstairs.
The surrounding students were all whispering.
"Who's that guy?"
"He's so handsome, and his suit looks expensive."
"Could he be Weiwei's boyfriend?"
Zhang Jianye gritted his teeth and stood up.
"What are you doing here?"
Li Wei turned his head.
"Nonsense, of course I'm here to pick up my girlfriend."
Zhang Jianye's face grew even uglier.
"You're spouting nonsense, Weiwei isn't your girlfriend!"
Li Wei smiled.
"What you say doesn't count."
Zhang Jianye tightened his grip on the roses.
"I don't believe it! Weiwei must have been forced by you yesterday!"
Li Wei didn't reply.
Just then.
The dormitory building door opened.
Yang Weiwei ran out.
