Tearing apart the "phoenix man"
Li Wei parked his car in the parking lot of the OCT Creative Park.
He got out and locked the door.
He glanced at the time.
11:55 AM.
Precisely controlled.
Five minutes left.
Li Wei walked toward the restaurant.
There were quite a few people in the creative park.
Mostly young people.
Dressed casually, carrying cameras and taking pictures everywhere.
Li Wei, wearing a suit, walked through the crowd, looking a bit out of place.
But he didn't care.
This was the difference between having money and not having money.
When you don't have money, no matter how well you dress, you still care about others' opinions.
But if you have money, then it's "Screw your opinions."
He arrived at the restaurant entrance.
"LeBlanc."
A French restaurant.
The decor was very exquisite.
Through the glass door, one could see there were only a dozen or so tables inside.
Li Wei pushed the door open and went in.
A Waiter wearing a white shirt walked over.
"Hello, sir. Do you have a reservation?"
Li Wei gave Yang Weiwei's name.
The Waiter nodded.
"Ms. Yang has already arrived. This way, please."
She led Li Wei inside.
At a table by the window.
Yang Weiwei was sitting there.
Today, she was wearing a pale pink dress.
The hem reached her knees.
Revealing her two fair calves.
She wasn't wearing stockings.
Her long hair was tied into a ponytail.
There was a pink bow tied on the ponytail.
She looked very youthful, like a student.
She was looking down, playing with her phone.
Hearing footsteps, she looked up.
Seeing Li Wei, her eyes lit up.
"Brother Li! You're here..."
She stood up.
Li Wei walked over.
"Waited long?"
Yang Weiwei shook her head.
"No, I just arrived ten minutes ago."
She pulled out the chair opposite her.
"Brother Li, please sit."
Li Wei felt a bit embarrassed that such a beautiful campus belle was pulling out a chair for him.
Yang Weiwei sat down and pushed the menu over.
"Brother Li, take a look and see what you want to eat?"
Li Wei took the menu.
He scanned it.
The dining process for the two sisters was exactly the same.
Last time it was Japanese.
At least there were a few characters he could understand.
This time, however.
It was all French.
He didn't understand anything except the prices.
The cheapest main course was 380 yuan.
The most expensive was 2,800 yuan.
Li Wei put down the menu.
"Never mind, you order."
Yang Weiwei nodded.
"Then I'll order."
She called the Waiter over.
She ordered a bunch of dishes in fluent French.
The Waiter took down the order, bowed, and left.
Li Wei raised his eyebrows.
"Your sister knows Japanese, and you know French?"
Yang Weiwei's face flushed slightly.
"I learned it in high school. In the US, I often chatted with French exchange students, so I practiced a lot. Actually, I also know a little Spanish and Italian."
Li Wei covered his forehead.
It seemed confirmed.
This was exactly the "other people's children" that thousands of parents always talked about.
"Impressive."
Yang Weiwei lowered her head.
"It's... it's nothing really."
The atmosphere suddenly became a bit awkward.
Yang Weiwei picked up her water glass and took a sip.
She put it down.
Then she picked up her phone and glanced at it.
She put it down.
Li Wei leaned back in his chair.
"Weiwei, by the way, you invited me to dinner ahead of time, is something up?"
Yang Weiwei was taken aback for a moment.
"It's... it's not really anything."
She bit her lip.
"I just wanted to treat Brother Li to a meal."
Li Wei smiled.
"Just treat me to a meal?"
Yang Weiwei's face turned even redder.
"It's just..."
Before she could finish her sentence.
The restaurant door was suddenly pushed open.
A man walked in.
He was twenty-five or twenty-six years old.
Dressed in a white shirt and black trousers.
Wearing a Casio watch on his wrist.
With a slightly confident smile on his face.
He scanned the restaurant with his gaze.
Then it fixed on Yang Weiwei's table.
When Yang Weiwei saw him, she froze.
"Why did he follow me here..."
Li Wei turned his head.
He glanced at the man.
The man was already walking toward them.
Yang Weiwei whispered.
"Brother Li, later... could you cooperate with me, please?"
Li Wei turned back.
"What do you mean, how should I cooperate?"
Yang Weiwei bit her lip.
"It's just..."
Before she could finish her sentence.
The man had already walked to the table.
"Weiwei, it really is you!"
The man's voice was very enthusiastic.
Yang Weiwei managed to force a smile.
"Senior Zhang, what a coincidence."
Senior Zhang glanced at Li Wei.
Then he looked back at Yang Weiwei.
"Not a coincidence! I heard you came back from abroad, so I went to the school, but didn't expect to see you get into a taxi, so I followed."
He paused.
"Who is this?"
Yang Weiwei hesitated for a moment.
"This is..."
Li Wei spoke up.
"I am her boyfriend."
Yang Weiwei was stunned.
Senior Zhang was also stunned.
The smile on his face instantly froze.
"Boy... boyfriend?"
Li Wei nodded.
"Is there a problem?"
Senior Zhang swallowed hard.
"No... no problem."
He looked at Yang Weiwei.
"Weiwei, when did you get a boyfriend?"
Yang Weiwei snapped out of it.
She glanced at Li Wei.
Then she turned to look at Senior Zhang.
"A... a while ago."
Senior Zhang's expression changed.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
Yang Weiwei frowned.
"Why would I tell you?"
Senior Zhang was taken aback.
"I... aren't we..."
Yang Weiwei interrupted him.
"Senior Zhang, we are just ordinary classmates."
Senior Zhang's expression became even uglier.
"Ordinary classmates?"
He took a deep breath.
"Weiwei, stop lying to me."
Yang Weiwei frowned.
"I'm not lying to you."
Senior Zhang shook his head.
"You must be lying to me."
He looked at Li Wei.
"What do you do for a living?"
Li Wei leaned back in his chair.
"What does that have to do with you?"
Senior Zhang's face turned livid.
"I'm just caring about Weiwei."
Li Wei smiled.
"Who are you?"
Senior Zhang was taken aback.
"I am Weiwei's senior, Zhang Jianye. We met back in freshman year. During the orientation, I was the one who received her. We had a great relationship, but then I graduated and she went abroad."
He paused.
"But it doesn't matter. I currently work at Xiaomi, with an annual salary of 300,000 yuan."
Li Wei nodded.
"Oh."
Zhang Jianye waited for a few seconds.
He realized that Li Wei had no other reaction upon hearing about his 300,000 annual salary.
He felt a bit awkward.
"Uh... what do you do?"
Li Wei didn't answer.
Yang Weiwei spoke up.
"Senior Zhang, if you have nothing else, please don't disturb us."
Zhang Jianye's expression became even uglier.
"Weiwei, you..."
Yang Weiwei interrupted him.
"Senior Zhang, we really are just ordinary classmates."
Zhang Jianye gritted his teeth.
"Impossible."
He looked at Li Wei.
"You tricked Weiwei, didn't you?"
Li Wei raised his eyebrows and spread his hands.
"What did I trick her out of?"
Zhang Jianye sneered.
"You must have swindled her money."
Li Wei smiled.
"I swindled her money?"
Zhang Jianye nodded.
"Yes, Weiwei's family is well-off, and her sister is a Jewelry Designer. You must have set your sights on their family's money."
Yang Weiwei's expression changed.
"Zhang Jianye! What are you saying!"
Zhang Jianye ignored her.
He stared at Li Wei.
"Am I wrong?"
Li Wei leaned back in his chair.
"Are you done?"
Zhang Jianye was taken aback.
"I..."
Li Wei interrupted him.
"If you're done, get lost."
Zhang Jianye froze completely.
"You... what did you say?"
Li Wei turned his head.
Looking at him.
"I said, if you're done, get lost."
